We worked with The Coordinated Collective (TCC) for our wedding in November of 2024, and from the very beginning we were impressed with their services and (perhaps most importantly!) we were comforted that our big day would be planned and executed smoothly. We first spoke with Ja’el, the owner, to have an introductory call and were instantly impressed. She provided initial feedback on our initial concept for the wedding, and made venue-specific suggestions that shaped how we planned our wedding over the months that followed. We were assigned Francisco (Fran) to be our Day-Of Coordinator, and after just a 30 minute introduction call we were impressed yet again and reassured by his experience and attention to detail. Over 9 months of wedding planning, he kept us organized, made sure we were on track, and responded in a timely manner whenever we emailed him with questions. He created and maintained a shared document for collaboration between our planning calls, which we loved. Fran made sure everything was addressed, from contracting vendors to make sure we had enough table linens to making sure critical contract documentation was correct and complete. We held a walkthrough with key vendors a few weeks before the wedding, and a rehearsal with the wedding party the day before the wedding. Fran reached out to schedule with vendors for these events, shared a list of activities and a timeline beforehand to set expectations, and executed both events so everyone knew what they were doing and had their questions answered. He even did a great job wrangling our wedding party, which is a tough task to do for such a boisterous group. And finally, on the day of our wedding, Fran continued to do a fantastic job. With the help of Erinn from TCC, Fran kept the trains moving on time. During setup, Fran and Erinn made sure the timeline was followed and that everything was in place well ahead of the wedding start time. Fran even provided last-minute decoration and arrangement suggestions for flowers and other key items such as our cake, guest book, and card box. (He has a great eye for detail!) And when the wedding was over, Fran and Erinn collected all of our decorations, table settings, and other items, making sure that everything we provided was accounted for. Our wedding was truly a day to remember, and it could not have been possible without Fran and The Coordinated Collective. We are forever grateful.

Lissa and her team was absolutely wonderful from the initial contact up to the end of our wedding day! No matter what kind of wedding you're having, she will make you and your partner feel like you have all of her attention as the most important couple. Throughout the whole process, she was so professional and supportive, even with not as traditional ideas. She had such a quick response time, usually within a day, or a couple hours, and sometimes even sooner! Her attention to detail in making my timeline was also amazing and I felt that we were able to have the whole day planned to the dot before the big day. On the wedding day, she made sure everything ran so smoothly and we were not stressed out at all! We had some small hiccups with the layouts that our venue had set up, but a quick word from Lissa had them fixing the issue. She's the perfect amount of assertiveness, professionalism, and friendliness with everyone, including the guests. The largest thing that stood out to us was how much all of our other vendors loved Lissa and working with her, and we could see it throughout the day. Our venue had restrictions such as a short setup window, but Lissa communicated with them and navigated the situation very well to make everything go smoothly. All the paperwork she sends gave me amazing guidelines on everything from choosing vendors to tipping. I can genuinely say I would not have had as much fun at my wedding as I did without her. In the weeks/days leading up to the wedding Meghan organized ALL my vendors flawlessly to ensure they were on the same page and knew their roles for the day of. The day of execution of all vendors setting up went flawlessly and Meghan setup all my decor and centerpieces beautifully. It is truly a talent to bring someone else’s vision to life and that is exactly what she did. Not to mention she was checking in on me and my husband throughout to make sure we had eaten, had drinks, and that we were doing okay! She also helped me with changing out of my dress later in the night! I can honestly say Meghan was the BEST decision I ever made. She really is just an awesome person and excels at her job because she truly wants to make your wedding special. So many of my guests came up to me to express how impressed they were with Meghan and that they wish they had someone like her at their wedding. Shaymah was extremely organized with a very chaotic wedding - chaos due to family drama, etc. While the chaos was stressful, Shaymah was very detailed and thorough with all of the wedding planning, including designing florals and signs completely on her own (great designer too!), and including last minute issues with guest count, etc. She's very sweet, kind and helpful and great to work with! Penderview Events truly went above and beyond to make our day PERFECT. As a DIY and meticulous bride, we knew Anna was the one we would entrust with our vision the moment we had our phone consultation; she was so incredibly sweet and enthusiastic about our big day, and I immediately felt a sense of ease that she will be able to handle all the shenanigans and i can pass her the torch with ease. Although she was hired for "day of", she assisted us in any way possible months leading to and made sure we were on top of all the important tasks leading up to the day of (i.e. vendors contact info, finalizing timeline for the morning/day of, etc.). My big day unfortunately started off disastrous (I became car sick), so I was unable to give guidance with the decor during set up. But since one of the tasks Anna asked me weeks prior was for a list with all the decor and how/where I wanted them placed, Penderview legit made my vision come true!!!!!!!! Penderview was so attentive, that they were even able to place some items which I gave no instructions for (i.e. last minute decided that we wanted wedding party to sit during the ceremony, so I made name placement cards for the reserved chairs, and without mentioning it, they were placed on the chairs in processional order). Penderview was able to execute every event and details on the timeline FLAWLESSLY, and I was able to enjoy the event with ease knowing that everything was in such capable hands. We felt and saw how invested Penderview was throughout the day in making it perfect for us, especially the attention to details and handling all the logistics smoothly behind-the-scenes. I also really appreciated Anna’s assertiveness when hiccups would arise (ie, making sure guests wouldnt be walking in while were ready down the aisle/stay out of view, wedding party prioritized drinking and forgot to come back for portraits; flower girls kept running infront of camera during portraits, and so many other headaches i did not want to deal with, etc.) Not only was Anna able to accomplish and execute my vision beyond expectations, but she was also my emotional support and my right-hand lady, making sure I was always hydrated. Anna’s empathetic and kind demeanor made her feel more like a close friend than just a ‘day of coordinator’. Hiring Penderview was the best investment we made. Thank you so much for making our day magical and we will forever be grateful to Penderview!!!

Elizabeth Carberry and her team are truly second to none in the wedding planning space. Back in 2019, I had met with numerous planners in DC and the stars aligned on cost, vision, and personality with Elizabeth immediately. Even before we signed on the dotted line, Elizabeth was hard at work taking the things we mentioned in our first call and setting up appointments with vendors. As it turned out, this would be an excellent indication of how thoughtful, efficient, and hardworking she and her team would be in working with us to plan our dream wedding(s) over the next few years. When the pandemic hit, we had already booked our date and many vendors but it was clear we probably weren’t going to move forward with our original date or vision, Elizabeth was so on top of rescheduling things and renegotiating on our contracts, we felt totally supported the entire time. She really went above and beyond. We started planning another version of our wedding on a rescheduled date and once again, another wave of the pandemic hit and we were out of luck again. While I’m sure Elizabeth and her team were as exhausted and frustrated as we were, they kept everything professional while also being incredibly empathetic to the situation. We canceled our second attempt at a wedding and went back to the drawing board. Third times the charm, it seems! My husband and I decided to scrap our plans for a big 200 person wedding bash in DC and have an intimate ceremony of 45 people at my parents cabin in PA. We proposed this idea to Elizabeth, knowing it was a huge pivot and trek for her, but without really any hesitation we shifted gears and started planning our new dream wedding in the mountains of PA. Within a matter of days, our contracts had been once again renegotiated with vendors who wanted to make the trip to another state and new vendors were found (a seemingly impossible task in rural PA). The day went off without a hitch and my husband and I look back on the whole process and wedding day so fondly, even with the nightmare of the pandemic. The day of, Elizabeth and her team were so incredible and efficient but stayed behind the scenes, making sure I knew they were there but not overwhelming us. The ceremony and reception were so beautiful and fun- she made our vision a reality. We woke up the next morning and everything was disassembled/organized and ready for the vendors to pick up. Of note, Elizabeth is also incredibly professional and will advocate for you with difficult vendors and make sure you’re not getting taken advantage of- you can tell she’s seasoned pro! Elizabeth and her team are the reason why, even after two foiled attempts, we have nothing but amazing memories from the wedding planning and actual day of! I recommend Elizabeth Carberry to anyone getting married- she and her team are the best of the best. Thank you for our perfect day, EC!

You're going to spend a lot of time with your wedding planner / coordinator, so it's important that they're a good person and you like them! Well Diane is a gem of a human being, and I really do feel like I made a forever friend in her. Throughout the planning process and on the day, there were times when I just needed emotional support, and she was there for me. Her communication is prompt, consistent, and thorough. She got back to me on every email in a timely manner with all the answers I needed. I didn't realize at the time but strong communication was probably the MOST important aspect that made working with vendors 1000x better, and Diane excelled at it. Additionally, in the lead up to my wedding day and on the day itself, Diane was on top of EVERY detail. She went above and beyond to make sure that everything was PERFECT - just as I always dreamed it would be. From helping me iron my wedding dress while my bridesmaids and I were getting our makeup done to overseeing every vendor arrival and setup to making sure transitions from each part of the day were smooth - she did it all. No detail was too small for her, and because she's a total professional, she thought of everything! I reached out to Laura after she was the coordinator for my friends wedding and have not been disappointed since that day. Laura has been the utmost example of professionalism and organization. We chose her day of coordinator services as I was pretty confident about my planning abilities, but we didn’t want to have to do anything on our day of. If you do not feel confident with planning, I would seek out her services for full coverage planning as she did just a stellar job with sending us vendors, connecting with the ones that we had, and helping us with all the details. Day of our expectations were exceeded! Once her team arrived, Kayla and Ivy, we didn’t have to do a thing! The day of our plans changed a lot and they really kept us on time. We had to deal with a tropical storm that popped up two days before the wedding, which was wholly unfortunate. Our venue and everything was inside, however we wanted to take our first look and party photos outside. On the day of the coordinators helped us find an additional space to take photos in and took care of everything. It was so great to have Kayla and Ivy by our side because I didn’t have to worry about anything, I didn’t have to look at the schedule, I didn’t have to worry if that was set up correctly, or this was set up correctly or if vendors had arrived and we’re on time and tell them where to go etc. etc. It felt great to just spend my entire wedding day relaxing and enjoying the beautiful day it was. Words cannot define the worth and joy it was to have Kawania and her team be a part of my wedding day. She was a constant advocate for our needs and budget throughout the process, being realistic at every turn. What I know now is that what you get with Kawania is experience and know-how of the industry. She has planned several weddings and events before and knows how to troubleshoot mishaps that may happen on the wedding day in real time. She understands that the day of the event is a special moment for everyone involved and she knows not to bring stress to the wedding party and to allow them to live in the moment. At subsequent weddings, I have felt that my friends needed this approach with their planners on their wedding day/weekend. I, being their guest or in their bridal party felt the disorganization that their planners or self-planning brought. This was not the case with Kawania. We had glowing comments about our wedding day for even a year after and how it was not just a ceremony but a day of entertainment. She is an excellent communicator. We had regular meetings throughout the year, about once a week. I have seen my friends have wedding planners who do not get back to them for several days after they have a question about their wedding. Kawania brought my vendors to me instead of me having to look for vendors on my own and when one did not work she always had another one that could take the place. She set up meetings with me and my vendors one-on-one and reviewed all of our vendor contracts to make sure that we were getting a fair contract and that expectations for the vendor and for us were both reasonable and what we were looking for. Being a very busy working professional I appreciated that Kawania went above and beyond to make sure that I stayed on the schedule and was extremely patient when there were moments when I could not. I value how she brought my vision to life and had such great attention to small details that my day was exceptional. I have seen my guests feature elements of my wedding at their subsequent events and it speaks to how she was able to set the bar high for what a classy and unique event should be. Far beyond a wedding planner, she has become someone that I keep in contact with after the wedding. She even checked in on me when there was a major catastrophic event that took place in the area where I lived months after the wedding. There were even moments when I became uncertain or stressed and focused on the wrong thing when it came to my wedding. Kawania, quite like a mother figure helped me realize what my focus should be and to ignore all other distractions so that when I walked down the aisle, I was in full confidence of how the day was going to be and did not feel a single ounce of stress on my wedding day. I could not be more thrilled to work with Kawania again. Although I do not see myself getting remarried I would certainly work with her for any big event I needed in the future. She has such a positive energy and global about her and brings a light to every interaction even difficult ones that makes her pleasant, respectable, dependable, and all around the absolute reason why my big day went off such success. I cannot state how tirelessly she and her team worked so when I did meet them in person but felt like I was meeting friends who knew exactly what I wanted. You will not regret working with Kawania and Howerton Wooten events!

I rarely meet anyone in life that is as Type A and detail-oriented as I am, but Tyra was my match. I've done a lot of event planning in my own career, but you really can't be your own planner especially in the weeks leading up to the wedding on the day itself. Tyra thought of absolutely everything I needed her to think of and more! And no matter how well a wedding is planned, there are always weird things that pop up as you get to the finish line and during the wedding itself--Tyra handled all of those so my hubby and I could enjoy the day. She had absolutely everything covered to the point that I actually felt a bit guilty about how little I did because, hello, that's my personality. As for Tyra's personality--well, she's the best. Super duper friendly, professional and like a good BFF, not afraid to give it to you straight. Highly, highly recommend. P.S.--This was a second wedding for my hubby and I, and it was a very small group. If you figure you don't need a planner because your wedding is going to be intimate, you're wrong. Trust me when I tell you that you still need someone to coordinate with the vendors, make sure the ceremony musicians aren't dead, talk you through a tuxedo crisis, and literally sprint to jump into your officiant's car, who is lost and driving around the mall looking for the venue. ;)
