You Get the Most of Everything, But Not Everything
With Mostest, you’re getting the most of everything. But you’re not getting everything. I want to be clear that Brittany, our Month of Coordinator, was a lovely person to work with and got a lot of things right. However, there were several major moments during and after the wedding that make us question our choice going with Mostest. When you hire the team for your wedding, you are trusting them to handle key aspects of the day so you can relinquish control and be present with your loved ones. Mostest is a good middle of the road option but left a lot to be desired. Here's what went right: Brittany did a great job making a day of timeline and kept us on schedule before and during the wedding. She took care of tips at the end of the night and helped carry gifts to our car at the end of the night. The weekly calls leading up to the wedding, which started six weeks out, were so helpful too. And she did a fantastic job of coordinating everything with the venue and the vendors leading up to the day. This was invaluable and the wedding wouldn’t have happened without her help. Here's what didn’t go right: A huge blunder was on our aisle walk out song. The DJ played the right song, but the wrong version. We’re not sure who this falls on, but we had spoken at length with the DJ and Brittany about how important music was to us, so for this snafu to happen at such a big moment was a massive bummer. Another hiccup was that we were assured by the venue that all liquor options would be available throughout the evening. And they were. BUT, after rounds of conversations about how much our families and friends love dirty martinis, we were disheartened to learn during cocktail hour that the venue didn’t have olive juice. This kind of feels like an embodiment of our main gripes with Mostest – dirty martinis were a small but very important thing to us, and we believed they’d be the people to make sure that was covered…but it wasn’t. The last, but biggest problem we had was with our cake. We were shocked to discover that a significant chunk of our family and friends (including the bride’s mom) didn’t get cake. When we asked Brittany why people didn’t receive cake, she said that we ran out. This was confusing because we had more than enough cake for everyone. The day following the wedding, Brittany texted us that some of the cake was discovered in the fridge. It wasn’t until we got to the venue that we discovered half the cake (as in 10 unopened boxes) was still in there and no one took it out during the wedding. She apologized for this and the other snafus, but we can’t get that time back. Did we get married and have fun? Yes, and that was the point of the evening. But we hired Mostest to cross the T’s and dot the I’s for a party that took over a year to plan, and that didn’t happen. It’s a good budget choice for your wedding, but if we were to do it again, we’d spend a little more and invest in a planner that’s there from the start.

Things like martinis and cake may seem small from the outside—but we know how much meaning they can carry, especially when you've spent over a year planning. Your disappointment is valid, and we hear you. Just to offer a bit of context for future couples reading this: Mostest offers both Full-Service Planning and Day-Of (or Month-Of) Coordination. In this case, we were brought in for Month-Of, which means we join in the final weeks to help pull everything together and manage the day. It’s a great support layer, but it’s not the same as having someone there from the start making every decision alongside you like our Full-Service offering. That said, we know that even with limited scope, execution matters—and we’re always striving to do so flawlessly. We've already had some great internal conversations sparked by your feedback, and we’re rolling out some improvements to our Day-Of/Month-Of experience as a result. Carly, Carly, Carly… I mean… she’s simply the best. I don’t even know what else to say. My partner and I were planning our Feb. 2025 wedding in Seattle, WA. Since our venue required us to have at least a day-of coordinator, we started looking for recommendations, when we stumbled upon Mostest which had some promising reviews. We decided to go for the month-of coordinator since we really didn’t know what the heck we were doing, and were getting a little overwhelmed with the planning. Mostest matched us with Carly and after our first meeting, we could tell that we were in good hands. Her enthusiasm for weddings is what stood out right away, and we could tell that she really loves her work. Carly is super helpful, kind, and patient. Throughout the entire process, she made us feel comfortable and heard. She revealed so many blind spots in our planning process, gave us great suggestions, and kept us on task. On the day of our wedding, Carly took charge of coordinating with vendors and the venue and helped with setup and teardown. We never had to think about the schedule since Carly was there to cue each moment. The whole day felt effortless thanks to Carly and we are so happy that we had the opportunity to work with her.

We used Mostest after our venue told us they required us to have a day-of coordinator on site, and boy are we happy we did! Everything was seamless. We met Arianna Luby two weeks before our wedding, and she jumped right in, providing valuable insight and recommendations right off the bat. On the day of, she was a Godsend. She brought all our decorations to the venue, set everything up to perfection, ensured the night moved smoothly and on time, and packed us all up before she left. I had absolutely no worries all night because she was that good! I would 100% recommend a DOC for peace of mind and would 1000% recommend Mostest and Arianna!
