From the very first phone call, it was obvious that he is someone who loves his job. He has an extensive knowledge and love of music means no matter what you want the soundtrack of your wedding or event to be, he’s got you and your guests of ALL ages covered. He was communicative, easy to work with, clearly invested in making sure we had a great time at our wedding, and that everything ran as smoothly as possible. In fact, at one point, he noticed from behind the booth that we were one man short for lifting someone up in the chair during our extensive Hora. So what did he do? He put his headphones down, ran onto the dance floor, and kept the party going! As a musician and music lover myself, it was hard to trust someone else with the evening’s setlist, but we are so glad we did. He was super keyed into the dance floor, and read the crowd like an expert, always knowing exactly what song to serve up. We danced our aes off and could not have had a better evening. We had the pleasure of being recommended High Voltage by Swan Lake and little did we know just how great that recommendation truly was! From the minute that I began speaking with Anthony and Angelo, it was a similar experience as with finding Swan Lake– I knew they were our DJ’s! Not only did they have everything we could have ever wanted or needed equipment wise, but they were so motivated and excited to work our wedding! My consult at their office was completely informative and so easy! While I don’t think I was a difficult bride, I had big ideas haha. Being that Swan Lake has several rooms and different areas, and music was so important to Britt and I, I had a unique vision to have different music playing in different rooms of the venue. I was sooo prepared to be told it wasn’t possible! But they did it and it was absolutely AMAZING. We did not have a sit down dinner service, but more like an endless cocktail hour, so guests were moving around all night… Every room had a different vibe, with music to match, all throughout the evening!. You were listening to alternative/emo in the bar and the foyer.. Mellow electronic in the ballroom and non stop epic dance track after dance track on the patio dance floor ALL. NIGHT. Every room I walked in and out of was filled with people having THE best time! Every announcement was made properly, everything was ran by me throughout the night and the guys kept me consistently in the loop (thwarting several not so great requests haha). They brought in and installed the most glorious red, orange and yellow colored uplighting throughout the entire venue– which COMPLETED my fall themed decor, it looked absolutely stunning. The entire night looked and sounded so beautiful and such a HUGE thanks goes to the High Voltage team. Thank you for making my music and lighting dreams come true, guys! “Hiring DJ KDOT LIM (Kevin) was the best decision we made when going through the process of hiring our vendors. I am very particular about my music and it was a TOP priority that we worked with someone that understood our vibe, vision, and overall music selection for our big day. He was such a pro and knew what to ask for our venue's AV set up, music prep, and even attending rehearsal which was totally optional for him to join. “Lucas was recommended to us as "the DJ you want to hire if you want someone you can trust to keep your dance floor full and to read the crowd to keep your party going," which immediately appealed to us. We live in Brooklyn, and got married in the Catskills, and found out that Lucas also DJs regularly at some of our favorite spots in Brooklyn. From our first contact with Lucas, he was responsive, kind, interested in getting to know us and our taste, and super professional. We connected on a personal level as well as on a musical one. Now, having had Lucas DJ our wedding and supply all of the audio equipment, we can't recommend him highly enough. The audio for our ceremony and speeches worked without a hitch (he also helped to professionally feed our ceremony audio/music into our livestream setup), Lucas knew exactly the right moments to take cues for music, and when the dance party began, he played great music that totally matched our vibe and tastes, and as promised, he kept the dance floor full all night (no small feat, especially because we downsized our wedding to 60 guests). In addition to being an excellent DJ, he's also a great guy to be around, and on your wedding day, it's really nice to feel like you are surrounded by people you want to spend time with. They accommodated all of our requests, and we had MANY including Sam Cooke, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, and more (they play all the newer music too!). On top of it all, Brennan helped me surprise my wife with a private last dance to "River" by Leon Bridges. Brennan kept it a secret up to the last second and made the moment so so special for us both. Needless to say, tears of joy were flowing! Not only were they a fabulous musical group, but they seamlessly MC'd the reception including speeches, cake cutting, and pouring of the champagne tower. We livestreamed the ceremony and they let us use their mics -- the sound quality was crisp and allowed our grandmothers to hear every word of our vows. Their ability to provide a string quartet for the ceremony added a truly elegant touch and provided our guests with live music from beginning to end. We went into our vendor search having no expectation that we’d find a band that could do ALL of that — but we lucked out finding Just the Melody! They can do it all, and SO well! “The Barnstorm isn't a "wedding" band. They're a band. A really great band. And that makes them the best wedding band, in our opinion. We went to one of their live shows before booking them to play at our wedding and we knew immediately they were perfect. The band is 7 guys who you would want to be friends with -- which makes them blend in seamlessly at a wedding. Their range of songs is awesome. Everyone raved about their playlist, including a few of our guests who are huge music snobs. They also did an awesome job of getting everyone involved. People were dancing, singing along, even getting a second or two on the mic. It was like having a private live show at our wedding, which we loved and all of our guests loved. The vibe is much better than other wedding bands we've seen. On top of that they were incredibly easy to work with and accommodating. Brooks never made us feel bad for requesting songs, no matter how random, and they learned anything we asked them to that they had the right instruments for. “You won’t regret hiring Tony and Platinum Entertainment, but you will regret not hiring them. Your DJ/MC is one of the most if not the most important vendor that you will book for your wedding. I didn’t believe it until I saw it, but it’s true. Tony was recommended to us by our wedding photographer, Hannah of Hannah Lux Photography. We set up a video call ASAP and after the first few moments, knew he was the right person for our wedding. It was evident very quickly that Tony is beyond passionate about what he does. Throughout the planning process, Tony guided us through everything we needed, made recommendations, and not only tolerated but encouraged my many Taylor Swift requests (or demands). Our wedding was less than 60 people including my husband and I.
