Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium

5.0

Washington, DC
  • Up to 620 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $22,275

The Andrew Mellon Auditorium stands, without question, among the very finest classical buildings in America. The gilded auditorium and lobbies are among the nation's most magnificent interiors. With its stunning columns and classic styling, over 10,000 square feet of indoor space, and a gorgeous balcony with impressive views of the city, the Andrew Mellon Auditorium is a premier location for conferences, galas and receptions. The venue fee is $22,275 for under 599 guests, and $22,800 for 600-1000 guests, and that includes the building rental and support costs, as well as off-site scanning of your vendor vehicles, security for your load in/out and one set of front doors for guest entrance. When hosting at the Mellon, you will need to work with one of our approved vendors to supply all of your event needs (catering, rentals, décor, valet, ect.).

I have had the pleasure of working with the team at the Mellon professionally, so when it was time for my wedding I knew I would have a great experience in this space. The venue is one of the most gorgeous in DC -- the columns, balcony overlook, green rooms, and stage make this a really perfect venue for a wedding. We had our ceremony at a church, but if needed we could have held it in the two green rooms toward the rear of the building (look up photos, its gorg.) The venue itself just absorbs color, lighting and sound, so its easy to add some simple or even over the top decor to make this space fit for your vision. You can have a number of different floorplans and seating arrangements, so its uniquely versatile for such a large venue in DC The team was very easy to work with - the information that they have is very detailed, and they're happy to talk through the details, schedule walkthroughs, and answer questions as it relates to the contracts and requirements to host an event there. Since it is such a well oiled machine, the paperwork and details that the team shares is very straightforward and to the point, and they're always ready to help answer questions as it comes to suppliers, insurance, and general operations. They have vast experience with different suppliers, including caterers and wedding planners who are in the space all the time -- they really want to simplify the process -- which with this type of property can be quite challenging! The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and every single one of our guests were in awe of the size and scope of the space. Two things to remember - you'll have to get your dance floor through their team (which is easy because the install and dismantle is efficient) and the restrooms are on a separate level from the mail hall - but there are elevators and two beautiful staircases that make this not a big deal. We loved our day and wish we could relive it again!

Clyde's of Gallery Place

Our sincere belief is that great dining begins with fresh ingredients, friendly people, and an unforgettable atmosphere. Our Executive Chef and Event Team are here to help you create that experience. With our warm hospitality and attention to detail, we’ll work with you to create the event of your dreams, and with a variety of rooms to fit any occasion and our talented team, your event is sure to start and end on a truly delicious note. From Montgomery County, Maryland to Loudoun County, Virginia, and many stops between, we have a perfect space for you.

We picked Clyde’s because the location was close to my church, where we did the ceremony, and because it was one of the few venues in that radius that fit our budget. I picked Clyde’s for practical reasons and looking back I couldn’t have made a better choice. I always knew I wanted my wedding reception to be fun and relaxed and have plenty of good food and drinks for my guests. Clyde’s so fit the bill. First, the food is simple yet delicious. We already knew that from dining there, and the tasting confirmed it. We were able to make menu choices to please everyone. Second, our room was beautiful and uniquely decorated and that makes a fun atmosphere. It was large enough to fit all our guests and have room to dance (we had about 50 people, but could have fit more in the room.) finally, the service was exceptional - all our guests commented on how great the servers and bartenders were at their jobs. We felt so welcome. The event staff went above and beyond to work with me to decorate and set tables to my specifications. If you are considering Clyde’s, I highly recommend them. DC wedding venues are expensive and Clyde’s was one of the few places we could afford, but even if our budget was higher, I couldn’t imagine a better experience.

As a wedding planner, I get the opportunity to work in many venues in Washington, D.C. But there's something truly special about one of D.C.'s newest hotels, Viceroy Washington DC. From the moment I first stepped through the hotel's front doors, I was impressed with the hotel's luxe, stylish and modern details that celebrate local artists and musicians. The photo ops are truly endless! But above all, what's most memorable about Viceroy Washington DC are the people. The events and food and beverage team go above and beyond to ensure that your event will be a success. We navigated numerous challenges due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Kate and the entire team made what could've been an incredibly stressful process, so easy! Due to local guidelines, we needed to move our indoor event outdoors. With Kate's help, we were able to seamlessly pivot to a beautiful event on the hotel's outdoor heated patio. The food and beverage program is outstanding and safety is considered every step of the way. Can't recommend Viceroy Washington DC highly enough!

Tower Club Tyson's Corner

5.0

Tysons, VA
  • Up to 150 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $8,500

The Tower Club is a wedding venue located in Tysons, Virginia. Visitors to this venue may be impressed by its pristine, contemporary appearance, but this club is much more than a fresh-faced novice. Management is continuing a tradition of excellence that stretches back more than 30 years. Their knowledgeable events team is happy to offer ideas and advice, but their goal is to realize your vision. They pledge to work with you, and pour over every detail, to ensure that your celebration reflects your particular needs and style. The Tower Club knows that no two events are alike. Their events team is committed to helping you through every stage of the process. They will be delighted to assist you with any logistical issues and can provide a list of some great local vendors. Their goal is to help make your wedding a day to remember.

There are so many positive things I could say about this place that it’s hard for me to know where to start, so I’ll break it up into categories. VALUE: At this point, I’ve researched just about every wedding venue that exists in northern Virginia, so I can say that The Tower Club is one of a kind in offering an upscale wedding experience for a much lower price point than several of their competitors. You can save additional money by having your ceremony offsite, which is what we did. LOCATION: The Tower Club is located right by major highways and a metro station, and allows you to book a generously discounted room block with the Tysons Corner Marriott hotel, which is within walking distance of the venue. All these factors make this the perfect choice if you have lots of guests traveling from out of town. As for the venue itself, it’s absolutely stunning. Between the glass ceiling, huge windows, and wraparound balcony, you get tons of natural light, as well as a panoramic view of northern Virginia and DC. We even took our wedding photos here after our original location fell through, and they turned out gorgeously. FOOD: Again, the value of what you get for the price is excellent. All food is freshly prepared in The Tower Club’s onsite kitchen, and you cannot go wrong with any of their menu selections. The food here is so delicious that we had a very hard time deciding what to serve, and our guests raved about their meals. They are also very diligent about accommodating dietary restrictions and food allergies, which was especially important for me and my family. STAFF: Everyone I have interacted with through The Tower Club has demonstrated above and beyond customer service. Lindsay Rhoades worked with me every step of the way, from the very first tour to the final walkthrough. She is unfailingly friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to contact with questions and concerns, which alleviated so much stress on my end. She worked tirelessly to ensure that every single detail of my wedding was nothing less than perfect. Desirae, the manager in charge of my reception the day of, also did an excellent job ensuring that everything ran smoothly and attending to my husband’s and I’s every anticipated need. If you’re currently planning a smaller-sized wedding in the DC area, The Tower Club is, without a doubt, a must-see venue.

Mess Hall

Washington, DC

  • Starts at $6,000

Mess Hall is a modern wedding venue located in the heart of Washington, D.C. The only private event space in DC that looks into an open industrial kitchen, Mess Hall provides an urban and inviting atmosphere that your guests won’t soon forget. The polished concrete floors, exposed industrial ceilings and mid-century modern décor all make this venue the unique and versatile space you’ve been searching for. Having hosted events for countless local clients, such as DC Brau, The Smithsonian Institution, The Embassy of Japan and more, Mess Hall has the experience and reputation needed to host the celebration of a lifetime. For a true urban wedding experience in the middle of one of America’s most well-known cities, look no further than Mess Hall!

My husband and I had a tiny COVID wedding and chose Mess Hall as our venue for a post-wedding party to celebrate with all of our friends a year later. Our experience working with the team at Mess Hall was completely wonderful from start to finish! When we first saw Mess Hall and met with Al, we knew we’d found the right place for our party. It was such a warm first meeting, just checking out the venue over a couple of beers, and we could totally picture ourselves and our friends in the cool, laid-back space. We knew right away that we could trust Al to help us pull off our vision for the party. A few months later, Mess Hall added their new event coordinator Jordan, who is absolutely wonderful. Great vibes from the entire team—incredibly supportive, willing to do anything to make our party perfect, and always at the ready with helpful suggestions when we needed them. The day of the party, we felt so loved and supported by everyone at Mess Hall while we collaborated on setting things up (Al personally helped us hang our neon sign and disco ball) and put the finishing touches on our vision. Jordan and Al both made sure everything went smoothly all night—and we have Jordan to personally thank for documenting the party on our polaroid camera! It was a perfect night and we can’t recommend Mess Hall highly enough!

The Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens

5.0

Vienna, VA
  • Up to 230 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $15,000

The Atrium is perfectly nestled within Meadowlark Botanical Gardens and overlooks 95 acres of lush gardens, green hills, and perfectly manicured landscape. Voted as one of the premiere wedding venues in the Greater Washington area, The Atrium can accommodate up to 230 seated guests for a wedding reception and up to 300 standing guests.

As soon as we took a tour of the Atrium, we knew this was the perfect spot to get married. The gardens are beautiful, and the inside the building the glass walls, plants, and little river give an airy and natural feel. I didn't worry about rain because you feel like you're outside even when you're in. When guests got too hot on the dance floor, they could go out and socialize on the patio overlooking the gardens in the cool night air. Given the meal prices for comparable venues, this venue is GREAT VALUE!! The food was great and the guests were happy. There were a couple small things that might be helpful to share, though. Our point of contact changed several times in the span of our engagement and there was sometimes a delay in communication. Also, the venue was marketed as a capacity of 200 people but it is better suited to weddings of 160-180 guests. When you go over 180, you have to choose some guests to seat in a room that feels divided by the little stream which is awkward. Also, there is no space for getting ready so brides and bridesmaids have to get ready off-site. Overall, I was overjoyed with having my wedding day here and I think for the price we still had an incredible experience. I don't regret it at all!!

Woodend Sanctuary & Mansion

Chevy Chase, MD

Woodend Sanctuary & Mansion is an elegant wedding venue located in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Conveniently situated just 9 miles from downtown DC, it resides on a private 40-acre nature sanctuary. Built in 1927, this historic location was designed by the renowned architect John Russell Pope, who also designed the Jefferson Memorial and the National Archives Building. Environmentally conscious couples will appreciate this venue’s commitment to nature and wildlife preservation, offering a beautiful and sustainable setting for your special day.

We LOVED having our wedding at Woodend! Beatriz was so helpful and answered all of our questions, as well as keeping us updated as the tent set up changed over this past year. The new tent is gorgeous and the whole venue is so gorgeous, including the grounds! We were happy to keep our decor minimal and let the mansion’s beauty shine, and we got so many compliments on the venue’s set up of having the dance space (Main Hall) separated from the dinner seating (tent). We also loved Woodend’s gorgeous property, which really shined for our late October wedding. Would fully recommend considering Woodend for your wedding - plenty of parking, beautiful space, great team, and your venue fee goes to a great charitable cause.

Clyde's Willow Creek Farm

5.0

Broadlands, VA
  • Up to 150 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor

Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm is a combination of antique buildings from the 1800s that have been combined to create a restaurant featuring local cuisine in Ashburn, VA. This classic wedding venue has vintage touches that make it a truly special location for a couple’s wedding, from stone fireplaces to the wooden rafters. Couples can find this venue in Northern Virginia, a 13-minute drive from Dulles International Airport. Facilities and Capacity Up to 160 guests can join couples on their wedding day at Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm. This classy wedding venue offers several room options for a couple’s ceremony and reception. The Terrace accommodates up to 150 seated guests for a wedding reception, weather permitting. The Chandler Bar & Barn can be used as the primary or back-up plan. This space can seat up to 160 guests for a couple’s big day. More wooden beams stretch up around circular chandeliers in this antique space.

I CANNOT say enough great things about Clyde's!!! I really wanted to keep things as simple and efficient as possible buy getting a venue that would be what I would consider to be "all inclusive" in terms of reception necessities (tables, chairs, food, silverware, glassware, dishes, linens, etc.). CHECK! I also really wanted our wedding reception to have an elevated simple yet elegant garden party aesthetic. DOUBLE CHECK! Plus, I used to show horses and am an avid equestrian, so the fact that they have an equestrian theme was just the icing atop of the cake! When we first went to look at the space, I fell in love with it! We ended up reserving the outdoor terrace for the reception and also. the two rooms upstairs for our wedding party to get ready in. The outdoor terrace was absolutely gorgeous and the reflecting pool was just spectacular! Having the rooms upstairs to get ready was great because then we had a place to escape and also to leave our belongings safely and securely. When getting ready, they had the waitstaff come upstairs and we could order anything off of the brunch menu. That was a lot of fun and made everything so relaxed and enjoyable! Tara and Keeley were absolutely fantastic! Super professional, super quick with responses, and great upbeat personalities! They really helped make our wedding day so spectacular! Another bonus, since we reserved the outdoor garden terrace, they also reserved and indoor option for us as well for a rain plan - FREE OF CHARGE! Everyone at the wedding was saying how great the food was, the atmosphere, the staff, everything was superb! I honestly can't think of anything I would change. I can't say enough great things about Clyde's I HIGHLY recommend them! I will definitely be recommending them to anyone looking for a venue for a wedding or any event, as they have so many different options for event spaces!! Go check out Clyde's NOW!! You won't regret it!
