How long is the rental?

Pleasant Hill is available on Saturday from 10:00am to 10:00pm and on Sunday from 10:00am to 9:00pm. This gives you the flexibility to hold your ceremony and reception at times that best fit your vision. We recommend the last song be played at 9:45pm followed by a grand send off for the couple. Rehearsal time is included on Friday prior to your ceremony. We will work with you on the best time to begin. However, all music must be off and your event completed no later than 10:00pm on a Saturday and 9:00pm on a Sunday.

What about rehearsal dinner?

We are happy to host your rehearsal dinner prior to your wedding! We offer two options: • A Cocktail reception can be held on the main floor of the house and in our English tea garden. Guests can explore our Nantucket style pool area and the rest of the grounds while enjoying cocktails. • A seated dinner in your tent in our wildflower meadow. We'll work with your caterer and tent provider to ensure they have the space needed.

Pleasant Hill provides a memorable indoor and outdoor space for your custom wedding including the main floor of our historic home, English Tea Garden, Nantucket style pool and tavern style basement. Our rich canvas provides a picturesque backdrop for your special day.

Pleasant Hill is accessible to guests of differing abilities. Ramps provide access to the indoor areas.

Can I choose my own vendors?

Accepted Answer

We have a list of preferred vendors who we think are the best of the best! To ensure we maintain our high standards we continuously vet and monitor our vendors. You can choose vendors that are not on the list on a case-by-case basis for an additional fee. All vendors must be insured and approved by a Pleasant Hill facility coordinator.

Do I need a coordinator?

Yes. Weddings at Pleasant Hill must have a licensed and insured day-of coordinator or wedding planner to ensure the event runs smoothly. Our team will always have a representative on-site to assist with the facility but will not coordinate your day.

Yes, we are just minutes away from many hotel options. Here are a few options: • Marriott Courtyard -3145 Crain Hwy, Waldorf, MD 20603. • Holiday Inn Express - 6860 Crain Hwy, La Plata, MD 20646. • Hilton Garden Inn - 10385 O'Donnell Pl, Waldorf, MD 20603.

Are there restrooms on the property?

Yes, the home has restrooms on the main and basement levels for the bridal party. ADA accessible bathrooms (executive style trailers) are available outside for guests.

What happens if the weather is bad for my outside ceremony?

Accepted Answer

We recommend using your reception tent for plan B for bad weather. Because we hold one event per weekend, this gives you flexibility to shift to an alternate weather day on your reserved weekend. The Pleasant Hill team will be in contact with your wedding planner the week prior to your wedding to evaluate weather options.

Is there an area for us to get ready?

Yes! We have a bridal suite (main floor) and Groom's room (tavern room) both with bathrooms to get ready for your big day!

The bridal suite, grooms’ room, and house have air conditioning and heat.

How much can I decorate?

Accepted Answer

You and your florist can bring in your own decor, it is important to only bring in what you can get out within the hour of cleanup. We don’t allow anything that can’t be quickly cleaned up (like glitter, powder “bombs”, tinsel etc).

Can we bring candles?

No live flame candles are allowed near the historic home. However, live flame candles in glass for centerpieces can be used in the reception tent. We suggest that guests use batteryoperated candles and lanterns if desired near the house.

Can we leave things overnight and get them the next day?

Accepted Answer

No, everything must be brought in and taken out within the rental period.

How do I reserve my date?

Accepted Answer

We know what a big decision choosing a venue can be and want to ensure you are completely comfortable in your decision. Once you tour our venue, you can save your date with a nonrefundable deposit of $500. We will hold your date for 14 days before releasing it. If you book with us, your deposit will be applied to your payment. When you are ready to book your date, we will collect a 25% deposit to reserve your date. Once you have coordinated initial details with us, we’ll provide access to an online portal with the rental contract and planning details. Once your contract is signed and we receive your full deposit, your date is firm. !

What payment options do you have?

Once the initial deposit is made, full payment must be made no later than 30 days prior to your event. Below are the options available: • Payment in full within 30 days of booking. • Equal payments from booking time to 30 days prior to event.
