Comus Farm is a charming and serene wedding venue located in Dickerson, Maryland. Steeped in history, this farm has been rejuvenated to host modern celebrations filled with stunning backdrops and majestic settings. A family-run farm, these hosts work hard to provide a welcoming environment to every couple that celebrates their love on these relaxing and secluded grounds. Originally built in 1921, the charming, traditional farmhouse is still intact, adding a historic and rustic feel to your special celebration.

We have 4,500 square feet of indoor space; this includes our cozy tasting room and adjacent event space. The event space also gives you access to the cupola where you’ll have a 360-degree view of the estate winery. It’s quite spectacular! We also have nearly 3,000 square feet of covered, wrap-around porch. It too, is an equally great space and overlooks various fields. You’ll often see our Grape Vine Patrol Squad (rescue dogs) out walking in the fields. We have eleven in all, and their job is to patrol the vineyards and keep out prey. They’re all friendly, enjoy meeting new people and being petted. In addition, feel free to inquire about using acreage surrounding the tasting and production facility for your private event. The Athenaeum is a beautifully preserved antebellum building, now serving as an art gallery. One of only two remaining examples of Neoclassical Greek Revival architecture in Alexandria, its exterior features an impressive portico supported by soaring Doric columns. Oversized windows bring natural light to the main gallery rooms, which boast 24-foot ceilings, wonderful woodwork, and exposed granite walls lined with rotating art exhibits. Your ceremony can be held in the sweet, private courtyard. This quaint, romantic space has a “secret garden” feel, sheltered from the street by high, vine-covered red brick walls. Please note wheelchair access is available only on the main floor. A/V equipment is available but limited. The Athenaeum is available for viewing during gallery hours or by appointment.
