Brin's Posy

5.0

  • Starts at $1,000
  • Serves Washington, DC

Brin’s Posy is named after my beloved dog. She passed away unexpectedly a few years ago, leaving myself and her pup sister (Abby) to figure out life without her. We were months of grieving her loss when a close friend insisted I channel the grief energy into something positive. A bell went off in my head as my current job as a florist in a far away town was coming to an end. Brin’s Posy helped me come to terms with the loss. I still have Abby (the shop girl) in the shop daily and occasionally out to our farm venues! We love to source local and work with community members.

Poppy was just what I wanted for our wedding! I very quickly and easily found the flowers I loved and wanted and it was all online or over the phone! Anna, the floral expert assigned to our order, was very responsive and when we had our meeting with her, she was very helpful in making sure we were ordering exactly what we wanted. I absolutely loved the blush traditional bouquet for me and my bridesmaids and the blush romantic garden flower clouds. The clouds were PERFECT to top each of the wine barrels that served as our altar. We were complimented a lot on the clouds. Overall, could not have been happier with Poppy. I would highly recommend for your wedding!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mary and Davidson Designs! From the moment we first met, their professionalism and dedication to making our day perfect were evident. They had a detailed intake survey to understand our vision, venue, and budget. We had a small wedding of 25 guests at a boutique hotel in DC. We received a document with theme colors, proposed flowers, and detailed item list to make sure everything matches expectations, from the types of candle votives to the color of the bouquet ribbons. The service we received was exceptional. Every interaction was pleasant and reassuring, and Mary was incredibly responsive to our questions and updates. Mary scheduled a final walk through a month before the wedding as a final check-in. On the day of the wedding, the flowers arrived right on time, exactly as promised. This punctuality alleviated so much stress, allowing us to focus on enjoying our special day. The arrangements themselves were nothing short of breathtaking. Each bouquet, ceremony installation, and the garland for our long table was crafted with such care and artistic flair that they became one of the most talked-about aspects of our wedding. The bridal party and guests were absolutely enchanted by the floral designs. Many of our friends and family commented on how beautiful and unique the arrangements were, adding an extra layer of elegance and charm to the celebration. The colors, the variety of flowers, and the overall presentation were perfect in every way. Davidson Designs truly went above and beyond to make our wedding day beautiful and memorable, especially when other florist turned us down due to how small our wedding was. Their talent and commitment to excellence shone through in every petal and every detail. We are forever grateful for their incredible work and highly recommend them to any couple looking to add a touch of floral magic to their big day!

Every detail her and her team included was breathtaking. Her work speaks for itself. My husband and I got married at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco in the Penn Quarter neighborhood. My passion for floral design began over twenty years ago in a greenhouse in a small Michigan town, traveled through the mountains of Colorado and Arizona, to the beaches of Southern California, settling in Washington, DC. Education in graphic design has helped to sharpen my attention to detail and given me an eye for color and composition.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Jolie and her incredible floral arrangements for our wedding! From our very first meeting, Jolie made the entire process enjoyable and stress-free. She took the time to understand our vision AND budget and brought it to life in the most beautiful way. The flowers for the chuppah and tables were absolutely stunning, each arrangement was vibrant, fresh, and perfectly matched our vision. Invest in flowers, it's worth it! Jolie's creativity and attention to detail truly set her apart, and she went above and beyond to ensure everything was just right. It was a pleasure working with her, and we’re so grateful for her dedication, kindness and talent. Hi! My name is Hailey and I am lead designer and owner of HM Floral Designs! We are a small women owned business located in Arlington Va! We specialize in dreamy wedding florals and bespoke wedding design!

Hailey at HM Floral Designs is an incredibly talented florist, and I could not recommend her enough!!! She did the florals for our wedding day and absolutely CRUSHED every part of it. We had her do bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, an arch piece, aisle runners, bud vases for the center pieces, and a few other random bouquets, and each one was so beautifully crafted with such care an intention and it showed. Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

    4.8

    • Starts at $350
    • Serves Washington, DC

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

    Awarded Best of Zola
We had a tropical themed wedding and used Flower Moxie for tropical flowers and greenery: bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, ceremony arch flowers. I wish there were more tropical related videos on their DIY Academy, but I did love working with my assigned florist and the help desk was quick in their response. For those who are getting married at the same location that the flowers are being delivered (my parents' home), I wish we would have done all of the floral arrangements the day before instead of 2 days before. And our spray roses came a day later and were a little sad looking. But overall, we were very happy with the service and highly recommend to others!

    Awarded Best of Zola
Jen was AMAZING to work with! When it came to flowers for my wedding, I had NO IDEA what I wanted. She was very patient with me and helped talk me through my vision. She gave me flowers to pick from, talked about how big I wanted my bouquet and how much greenery I wanted, and then when I could find colors I liked in swatches, she color-matched the colors I wanted from an inspo pic I found online! She was very professional and patient with me, even when my plans changed or I needed to add to my order.  I am not the best at putting together a bouquet. I am also someone who likes control, especially when it came to planning my wedding. I was thankful that I was able to give Jen the reins, tell her what I wanted, and watch her make my dreams come true. When I first saw my flowers, I was speechless. She truly did make my floral dreams come true, and now I get to keep my bouquet for the rest of my life! A wooden flower bouquet from Jen is the way to go!

The pandemic served as a wake up call for me just like it did for so many others. Allowing me to rediscover my love for flowers and all things beautiful. We kindly suggest to book as soon as you can as we are a limited capacity studio and can only take in a certain number of customers per month.

I had the most beautiful bouquet for my City Hall civil ceremony, but no firm plans for the bouquet post-wedding. My florist friend shared Jackie's contact information with me and I contacted her to see if she had the capacity for a last-minute bouquet preservation. Luckily, she had availability and a few hours later, I was taking an impromptu day trip to Cold Spring with my husband. Jackie met us at the station and was so incredibly kind. She gave us a few suggestions of eateries to check out while we were in town. We had a symbolic ceremony a week later and I was so pleased with the service received with my first bouquet, that I asked Jackie to preserve that bouquet as well. Throughout both bouquet preservations, Jackie was very responsive and answered any questions I had. She shared a layout of both bouquets prior to framing and packaged up both frames nicely, with bags, (this is a big deal when you're taking the train) when we returned to Cold Spring for pickup. I'd highly recommend her services to preserve a piece of your special day.

Jessica and her team did the florals for our wedding, and they were AMAZING! She was an absolute joy to work with from start to finish. I reached out to many florists, and she was patient and intentional, taking my mumbled jumbled ideas and putting together something magical for our big day. No idea was too big or small. We had several one-on-one meetings, and she put together an inspirational slide deck. That’s when I truly started to see all the pieces coming together! She worked within my budget and let me know beforehand if there would be any additional costs based on what I wanted. It was also nice because I could handle all my floral rentals through her (things like vases and candles) without needing to contact additional vendors. On the actual wedding day, Jessica and her team were incredibly kind, keeping me at ease. I trusted her to get creative and make decisions when I didn't have an exact plan for something. Cannot recommend f&b enough!

My journey began with a simple dream of cultivating beautiful blooms, but as the petals bloomed, so did my love for the art of floral design. I discovered a profound joy in curating unforgettable experiences through floral aesthetics. Through my journey, I have come to recognize that every petal tells a story, every stem holds a memory, and every bouquet is an expression of love and celebration. Let me be your guide through the enchanting world of flowers, where each arrangement becomes a reflection of your journey and a testament to the love you share.

Blush and Sage Design did the florals at my wedding and I can not say enough about what an incredible job they did. With very little guidance from me, they executed PERFECTLY on my vision of fall, fun, colorful florals in my bouquets AND my bud vases. I got countless compliments on what everything looked like and was so, so happy with all of it. Blush and Sage was a DREAM to work with and I really can't recommend them enough for your wedding!

As I prepare for my own wedding in April of next year, I was taken aback by the exorbitant costs associated with floral arrangements. Quotes ranging from $6,000 to $7,000, with a minimum commitment of $4,000, were simply unfeasible for me. This led me to explore alternative solutions, and I discovered a passion for creating my own florals. I was delighted to find that I had a knack for it! This experience sparked the idea to launch my faux floral rental business, driven by the belief that beautiful wedding florals shouldn't come with an astronomical price tag. My goal is to make stunning arrangements accessible to all.

While I didn’t use her for a wedding — I most certainly will once I get married! Morgan’s floral arrangements are so well done that I asked to purchase some to decorate my home. Her customer service and attention to detail is out of this world. 10/10 recommend.

Hi there! I'm Savannah, your main point of contact from the moment you inquire. I'm here to guide you through every step, from the initial consultation to finalizing your floral vision. I'm passionate about helping couples bring their ideas to life and ensuring that the floral details reflect your unique style and love story. Seeing our couples' joy when everything comes together is the most rewarding part of what I do! Together with my sister, Brooke, we ensure your wedding flowers exceed your expectations.

We used Bloomin' Wild for both our wedding ceremony and one-year anniversary celebration - they are great to work with. Amy and Savannah were communicative throughout the process and said yes to all of my requests. They brought my vision to life for both celebrations and the flowers were beautiful. Using local small businesses for our wedding was extremely important, and Bloomin' Wild was really great. I would recommend them if you are getting married in the Chestertown/Rock Hall area.

    The Rosy Posy

    5.0

    • Starts at $6,000
    • Serves Washington, DC

Lisa is the owner and head florist here at The Rosy Posy! She first fell in love with floral design when she was just 15 years old after discovering her natural talent for the art. Growing up in York, England (one of the oldest cities in England!) Lisa learned classic floral design and mastered in European wedding design. After attending college, she traveled throughout the world completing programs and taking classes from other masters of floral design. The Rosy Posy is a woman owned small business, completely family owned and operated! Lisa’s sweet pup is a golden retriever named “Rosy”, hence The Rosy Posy name!

We cannot recommend the Rosy Posy highly enough! Their floral designs for our wedding were breathtaking and their execution was immaculate. Everything from my bridal bouquet to the table centerpieces to the floral arrangements on the pergola were perfect. Their pure artistic talent commends them to anyone, but it is the Rosy Posy’s professionalism that truly sets them apart. We came into this process completely naive and without any clear initial vision but the Rosy Posy went above and beyond in helping us determine our actual needs, including practical and honest guidance on balancing budgeting and aesthetics. They even went so far as to invite us to their studio to show us their products and designs, even arranging for table mock ups using sample linens we obtained from our other vendors, which was extremely helpful. But even having this initial preview, seeing the final result at our venue still took our breath away. Rest assured, with the Rosy Posy, your wedding is in excellent hands!
