The Home and Farm have been passed down through 8 generations of the Miller family. In 1827, John Miller Sr. purchased the land from Francis Thornton and built a modest family home with his son, “Poplar John”. The simple rectangular structure was built from bricks fired on the bank of the Thornton River and trees harvested from nearby Turkey Mountain. Sixty years later, John Byron made substantial additions including the present-day Owner’s Suite, Queen’s Room, and sitting porches.

Booking your wedding venue lays the foundation for the entire feeling surrounding the event and we do not take that responsibility lightly.​ Here at Eden Try, it's our priority to ensure your wedding is a unique and memorable experience. Getting married at the winery can be an elegant affair or colorful celebration, with all four seasons offering natural elements to your day. The Winery and Vineyard Barn exude a well-kept peaceful atmosphere surrounded by manicured lawns and the Vineyard Meadow. You will feel as though you stepped back in time with our irresistible small-town charm with modern amenities for a seamless wedding day. Eden Try Winery is pure rustic sophistication.

Couples can host a gorgeous outside ceremony on the concrete patio, or opt for a covered pavilion ceremony. The pavilion is open on three sides to bring the beautiful scenery indoors, but the sides and barn-style doors can be closed in the event of inclement weather. Inside the pavilion, lighting is provided by lanterns and chandeliers, and a large hand-crafted fireplace takes spotlight, with rocks from the farm incorporated into its design. The outdoor patio is attached to the pavilion, creating an extra space that can be used for a ceremony, reception area, or dance floor. A second pavilion was completed in 2018 to provide reception space that is separate from the ceremony site, but within close proximity. This pavilion is completely enclosed and offers a gas fireplace as well as lanterns and chandeliers for lighting. As wedding guests arrive, wedding parties can use the bridal suite to get ready.

Come celebrate in nature on a developing organic farm on the one-of-a-kind Smith Forbes Historic Site. There are several large fields and a barn that is available for your event. Also on the site is a working farm with a small number of friendly goats, chickens, and pigs. Access to acres of private forest land with route to Rappahannock River. We are a DIY venue with limited capacity, so it's best for small and intimate ceremonies. We are open to all faiths. LGBTQ+/420 friendly.
