About this venue
The Home and Farm have been passed down through 8 generations of the Miller family. In 1827, John Miller Sr. purchased the land from Francis Thornton and built a modest family home with his son, “Poplar John”. The simple rectangular structure was built from bricks fired on the bank of the Thornton River and trees harvested from nearby Turkey Mountain. Sixty years later, John Byron made substantial additions including the present-day Owner’s Suite, Queen’s Room, and sitting porches.

The Inn at Mt Vernon Farm is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Sperryville VA. The 200-year-old Inn is situated on the top of a knoll with stunning 360-degree views of the surrounding countryside. The grounds of the Inn provide several amazing sites for your ceremony. You can gaze out over Old Rag mountain, enjoy the view of Skyline Drive, or get married alongside the babbling Thorton river.

Bring country side charm to your wedding by hosting it in our rustic-chic barn. The airy and spacious hayloft boasts an inlaid dance floor, elegant lighting, and room for up to 200 guests. The ground floor is a perfect setting for cocktail hour and a lovely alternative site for the ceremony. In addition to your wedding ceremony and reception, the Inn has several locations ideal for a rehearsal dinner; on the lawn by the Inn, or near the Barn on the banks of the Thornton river.

Having your wedding ceremony on the Inn grounds will provide you and your guests stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We offer several settings so your special day will be truly unique. Our Inn has accommodations for sixteen people with five luxury guest rooms in the main house and a cabin. Use of the Inn grounds for an outdoor ceremony and a rehearsal dinner. Access to the upper field two days prior and two days after your wedding (tents not included)
