Kyle Carnes Photography

5.0

Portland, OR
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Offer

Hi, I’m Kyle. I’m Northwest born, Portland based, and like to think that I have pines trees sprouting from my skin and sun-soaked glacial runoff coursing through my veins. Aside from photographing weddings, I enjoy strenuous hikes with a view as much as indie flicks, comic books, carving powdery slopes, rock climbing, and Trail Blazers games. I like to share these details because I strongly believe that connecting with the couples I collaborate with is integral to the creative process of photographing a wedding. A strong connection will result in the best images possible.

As a wedding coordinator, working with Kyle is easy. He is communicative, creative, and professional. With his clients, Kyle has a calming personality that puts everyone at ease and he is there to capture every moment and memory. He is always up for a challenge, is adaptable, and produces an amazing product! I absolutely look forward to working with Kyle in the future.

  • Starts at $3,500

I am a photographer and artist from the Pacific Northwest with Costa Rican and Scottish roots. My favorite things are dinosaurs, exploring new cities, board games, soccer, National Parks, and whiskey. I have been fortunate to photograph 200+ weddings in my PNW home, to ruins in Scotland, cityscapes in Vietnam, to the beaches of Maui, and beyond! I live in Portland, Oregon with my partner, two dogs, and four cats | 🏳️‍🌈🦖⛰️✈️📸⚽🫶🏼🌈🌲🦕🏝 Fun Fact: I was born on Leap Year Day so I turn 9 this year 🥳!

Awarded Best of Zola
We discovered Leah on Zola, and right from our first conversation, we knew she was the one. Her experience and artistic eye were exactly what we wanted to capture our dream wedding. Leah made the whole process stress-free with her clear communication and warm personality. On the big day, Leah walked into a whirlwind of activity, but she calmly focused and started capturing the magic. She helped me stay relaxed and assured me everything would be perfect – I'll never forget that. Leah's photos are simply breathtaking. She's a true artist who captured every detail just as I imagined. She made sure we had time for portraits, but also caught those spontaneous, joyful moments that made our day so special. We are beyond thrilled with the photos Leah delivered. The cherry on top was seeing how excited Leah was at the wedding – she even quickly edited a photo on the spot! It showed she was genuinely invested in our happiness. Can't wait to work with Leah again for our future big life-moments!

Venture Ever After

4.9

Portland, OR
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,400

My name is Nadia. I specialize in elopements + intimate weddings in the Pacific Northwest. I help people in love have the wedding of their dreams in magical outdoor spaces. When you choose to elope, you’re choosing to get married free of society’s wedding day expectations. So go wild! Spend the entire day in your favorite place, with your favorite person. Wear a fancy outfit, or wear your hiking boots. Invite your dog instead of your mom’s second cousin. Share your first kiss under the stars instead of under an altar. In the great outdoors, you write the wedding rules. And I’m here to help make it an experience you’ll remember for a lifetime.

Awarded Best of Zola
When we began looking for a photographer for our micro-wedding, we gravitated towards Nadia’s images over and over again. Not only did they capture raw, intimate moments between couples and families, but they elevated those moments in elegant and natural landscapes of the PNW; everything we wanted. We reached out and set up a consultation call immediately. We were initially nervous and felt very unprepared to speak with photographers because we had zero ideas for what our special day would look like, but after our call with Nadia we were confident that Venture Ever After was the right choice for us. She was so knowledgeable and did a TON of legwork planning our timeline to best capture the moments we wanted in the lighting we needed, recommending a variety of locations for some private moments as a couple and group activities with our family, and keeping us grounded and calm throughout the entire process. On our wedding day, Nadia took the reigns and gently guided us through the day with compassion and grace. She constantly reminded us that each moment was for us and encouraged us to revel in all of the details. She even conquered some pretty crazy heights armed with multiple cameras and a walky-talky to capture some dramatic and beautiful couple’s portraits. Beyond being an incredible photographer, Nadia is one of the most genuine and kind people I’ve met. She has a knack for keeping elopement/wedding day energy light and helping her clients feel natural in front of the camera. My partner and I truly felt like models. I feel so blessed to have our wedding photographed by her and, above all, be able to call her a friend. I would recommend Nadia at Venture Ever After to everyone planning an elopement, wedding, or adventure in the PNW. In fact, I hope to be able to visit her and capture anniversaries and momentous occasions for our family long into the future.

Hello! I'm Robert. This is me. Let me tell you a bit about who I am and what I do. Love for photography, I am very passionate about working with my camera. If I am creating a little photo for myself that is never seen publicly or a project for a client, I put everything I have into making the photography I create as best I possibly can. Every click of the shudder is an opportunity for creating amazing photography. Every photo-shoot has options for photographs waiting to be found. Solving these puzzles with my camera and lighting is a lot of fun for me. I believe you can see that also. That's why you are here looking at my work now.

Robert was an absolute pleasure to work with! Not only did he capture our day beautifully, but he got our pictures to us incredibly quickly! So many of my guests told me how much they enjoyed working with him. He has a calming presence, and made me feel so at ease during the whole process. You won't regret hiring him!

Hi, I'm Jaime. I'm an elopement and intimate wedding photographer based in the Pacific Northwest (and beyond). I'm also a trail runner, mountain lover, and dog wrangler. You'll find me seeking out tall peaks, old growth forests, rocky coastlines, and everybody-knows-your-name wine bars. All bodies, abilities, cultural backgrounds, and types of love are welcome here.

I wish I could rate higher than 5 stars! Jamie was absolutely AMAZING!!! Everything I could of asked for and more. Myself and my (now) Husband decided to elope from Birmingham AL to Oregon. We had never been to the state before so planning was a little nerve racking. After meeting with Jamie for a Zoom call, I immediately had stress taken off me. She was perfect at capturing exactly what I was looking for and finding the most beautiful spot to have our ceremony. I received my sneak peaks back while still being on my honeymoon and got to fall in love with her work! I highly recommend and I can not say enough to express how grateful I am that she was apart of our day.

Color. Laughter. Personality. Three words that I think best sum up my images. I've been shooting weddings for over 15 years and loving every minute of it! Big or small, the photos from your wedding day will travel with you throughout your lifetime.

Crystal of Crystal Genes Photography was a joy to work with for our wedding. Her communication style is direct, kind, and informative which made the awkwardness we both feel behind the lens of a camera melt away. The quality and uniqueness of her work is exceptional - she has a true talent for capturing emotional moments with beautiful composition and lighting. On our rainy wedding day, Crystal came prepared with umbrellas and tirelessly worked throughout the event to suggesting backdrops and decor for stunning photos. She is professional, confident, and capable with a passion for her craft that shines through. I wholeheartedly recommend Crystal to any couple looking for a photographer who will help make your wedding memories as special as the day itself.

Hi! I’m Jess. I approach wedding photography with a photo journalistic eye, seeking out the authentic experiences of your day rather than fabricated moments. I shoot mostly film, medium format and 35mm, as well as a little bit of digital, to create timeless imagery that ages gracefully. I am trained as a fine art photographer, studying at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, and SFAI. I live in Portland, OR but am happy to travel.

Jess was an absolute dream to work with - so kind and thoughtful, very clear communication, flexible, and helped us feel comfortable/relaxed at all times! She took our engagement tintype photos (gorgeous, striking, super cool) as well as our wedding photos, and I just keep looking through the album and smiling at how well the energy of the day and our love was captured! Would definitely recommend her and her work. Thanks, Jess!

Life is really lovely and I want to capture it all, even the messy or complicated parts. As an inclusive elopement & wedding photographer, I have a passion for documenting human emotion, and every kind of love. All are welcome here. I believe you should have beautiful and creative photos to tell your story. I love photos that are simple, the ones that make you feel something. I can't wait to hear from you!

My inspiration comes from my time spent in stunning landscapes from the sea to the forest. I love capturing moments outdoors through photography. I have over 10+ years of photography experience and love working with all couples. I am originally from Dallas, Texas, but based in Portland and Los Angeles. I went to film school at the University of Texas in Austin. Besides having a camera in hand, I enjoy camping, hiking, skiing, surfing, drinking kombucha, painting, singing, and traveling.

As the Mother of the Bride, i cannot say enough about Helen, our wedding photographer. When my daughter and her husband researched photographers, they were drawn to Helen's photos and her editing skills. And the fact that she was competitively but reasonably priced was a plus. During the planning process she was very accessible, and answered emails with complete and clear information. She is a warm and friendly person, but at the same time very professional. She had several virtual meetings with the bride and groom, and took care of every detail so that by the big day, we knew what to expect. During the wedding and reception, Helen was there to get the best shots without ever being in anyone's way. She emailed some beautiful shots after a few days, and then it only took three weeks to get the entire portfolio sent back to us! The newlyweds are absolutely in love with their photos. These pictures captured feelings and emotions, as well as wonderful visions of a perfect day. The wedding was at TImberline/Mt. Hood, and since Helen is a master of nature photography, the end result was perfect. I cannot recommend Anchor and Pine Collective enough!

Terra Lange Photography

5.0

Portland, OR
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,000

I live in Portland with my little family and I am thankful every day that I get to do something I love as a full time career. I got my BFA in photography from California College of the Arts in 2009, and started shooting weddings shorty after that. I believe there is so much magic in a photograph. It allows something to keep on existing, even after it’s gone. I strive to capture moments authentically but cleverly, using light, color and composition to make things compelling and beautiful. I try to be as candid as possible and use very minimal posing; taking a photojournalistic approach whenever I can.

Awarded Best of Zola
White Pepper had the joy of collaborating with Terra Lange Photography on a Gorge Crest Vineyards wedding that was ultimately featured on the Wedding Chicks Blog. She was kind and efficient day-of. She knew how to stick to a timeline and also worked well on a team of vendors to execute a wedding that made our client's day the amazing event they had envisioned.

Maria Newman Photography

I’m a wedding photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I’ve documented hundreds of couples’ love stories over the past 11 years, traveling all over the United States and beyond, and it has been one of the biggest honors of my life. I received my degree in photojournalism in 2010 and chose to pursue documenting love instead of local and world news events, but my background in photojournalism greatly guides how I approach my duty as a wedding photographer. I always strive to capture the day how it happened: the love, the laughter and the tears. I want you to look back at your wedding images for decades to come with joy and pride.

Awarded Best of Zola
Maria is the absolute best! She’s so sweet and incredibly talented. If you’re looking for a photographer that can capture the moments and emotions of you day through a collection of candid photos you’ll cherish for the rest of your life, you found her. We really felt like we were able to live in the moment and experience the emotions of the day without having to stop for photos. We are in love with the photos! It’s like reliving the day every time we look through the album. We can’t recommend her enough!!

Hello there! I’m Amy. My roots are here in the PNW, (Edmonds, Washington to be exact) but I spent most of my life in Texas waiting for the day when I could move my family home to the northwest. I have 5 sons (yep, 5!) and have to pinch myself when I think about my amazing family and this career that has taken my husband and I all over the world. I value experience and relationships over material things, and work mostly with couples who are planning smaller weddings or elopements. After 12 years and 300+ weddings, I’ve learned that connection and authenticity are essential to who I am, and the way that I work.

I work in the creative industry and know lots of photographers. For our wedding and annual family portraits, we have only hired Amy.

Professional photographer, lover of natural light, traveler, adventurer, happy wife and a dreamer! I fell in love with photography when my dad gave me his old film camera from a dusty box he had uncovered in our garage one spring cleaning day, and I have enjoyed taking photos ever since. I have travelled the world with my backpack, camera and trusty Apple laptop from Europe to India and South East Asia learning and being enriched by all the wonderful different cultures.

Kate Holt Photography was the perfect choice for our wedding photography. From the moment we first reached out, their communication was professional, quick, and expert. The quality of their work is truly top-tier - their bright, luxury style captured all the special moments of our day beautifully. They provided invaluable knowledge and guidance to help make our wedding day as smooth as possible, and were always available to answer any questions we had.
