Hi, I’m Kyle. I’m Northwest born, Portland based, and like to think that I have pines trees sprouting from my skin and sun-soaked glacial runoff coursing through my veins. Aside from photographing weddings, I enjoy strenuous hikes with a view as much as indie flicks, comic books, carving powdery slopes, rock climbing, and Trail Blazers games. I like to share these details because I strongly believe that connecting with the couples I collaborate with is integral to the creative process of photographing a wedding. A strong connection will result in the best images possible.

I’ve photographed couples all over the west coast and beyond, as far flung as Thailand, and regardless of origin or wedding destination, I like to spend quality time with the couples I collaborate with so that we can get to know each other, ideally over a hot cup of tea, coffee or a cold pint of beer. When it comes to the day of your wedding, it’s my hope that you’ll feel like you’re spending time getting photographed by a friend rather than just any random photographer. Kyle gave us a detailed understanding of his work and process, and took the time to listen to our wants/needs, and answered all of our questions and concerns. He provided us with a great resource to develop a shooting schedule for our chaotic day, and he was able to execute it flawlessly. Kyle captured our celebration of marriage with professionalism, compassion and attention to detail. The time he spent in preparing for our first look photos, that were done at a location other than where our wedding took place, was amazing. He scouted the location for us, contacted the park and took time to assure that all of our photos we wanted could be done seamlessly. Kyle was flexible and made our wedding day go smoothly. We felt like he was one of our guests and not just our photographer by the way he melded into our family and friends. When we got our photos we were so excited and thrilled by how they turned out. He captured all of the important moments and documented our day beautifully. We highly recommend Kyle!

Typically, couples book me about a year before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.

An assistant isn't typically needed but sometimes a second photographer is recommended. During a consultation, I will advise you on whether a second shooter would be a good idea for your wedding.

Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening for an additional charge.

No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible.

My turnaround time varies by season. Contractually, photos are guaranteed within three months, but delivery is typically within a month in the spring an early summer, and sometimes a couple weeks longer in the late summer. Previews within a few days of your wedding are available upon request.

You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors. At the end of the day, the number of photos isn't so much important. You'll get more than you could ever use. Quality is the more important factor.

I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.

In my 12 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by another great photographer in my professional network. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the referral groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
