Oakwood Creek was built in the 1930s by WW Wood and his wife Leanora. Wood drove a truck that hauled dairy milk from the outlying ranches into the town of Julian. Later on, Wood would operate B&L Liquor on the main street. The remains of W's garage are still very apparent on the property today, along with his goat shed & stables. We have one of the last intact water towers in the historic district. The property has been preserved to reflect the period in which it was built. This beautiful venue sits atop a picturesque knoll overlooking the historic town of Julian. Sherry Horton, owner of Oakwood Creek Celebrations, offers signature style that everyone—no matter their affair—will find "oh so easy". Growing up in rural Ohio, Sherry brings the style of country that is reminiscent of simpler gracious time, learning from her grandmother Emma Barrett of all things romantically beautiful. Oakwood Creek made our wedding dreams come true...if you are looking for a rustic, charming, cozy, and intimate venue, look no further - you have found it in Oakwood Creek. As a couple that paid for our wedding ourselves, finding the perfect venue, location, setting all within budget started out challenging. But after one tour at Oakwood Creek, we knew right away we found our venue. (It actually was our first and only tour, that's how certain we were.) We had 35 guests (planned for 40) and it was the perfect size. My husband and I only wanted our closest friends and family so this venue was perfect for us. We were able to get plate rentals through the venue and coordinated all of our vendors through Oakwood Creek. The entire team at Oakwood Creek is amazing. I definitely had a few moments of tears before the wedding after 100% rain was forecasted on my wedding day but the team pivoted everything indoors for the reception and we were able to do the ceremony outside. They all kept me grounded and answered every single one of my questions (there were MANY) lol! We have two venues: *The Island -- Lake Cuyamaca has a scenic, natural site suitable for small outdoor weddings. Venue is rented for 6 daylight hours. Tables & chairs are not included.  *Ole Firehouse -- The Firehouse is a newly renovated former fire station with a 40' x 60' event room, the perfect space for both weddings and receptions. Amenities include: the venue room, a full kitchen, two restrooms, an outdoor patio area, a large, shaded deck, and an upstairs bridal dressing room/loft space. It has a 80-person indoor capacity with the Firehouse bay doors closed & a 100-person capacity when they are open. We'd love to give you a tour of our unique locations & are committed to doing all we can to help you make this a memorable day!

From the beginning, we instantly fell in love with the venue and location. As we drove up to the venue for the tour, we began envisioning our wedding and knew this is where we wanted to get married. Lake Cuyamaca has a special place in our hearts and we were so excited to be able to share it’s beauty with our guest. Everyone had nothing but great things to say about the venue and the lake! Additionally, the weekend of our wedding, we stayed at the Lakeview cabins at Lake Cuyamaca. The stay was very pleasant and convenient. The view of the lake and surrounding mountains was breathtaking. The staff was very helpful and responsive! As the months turned into weeks, they were checking in with us to make sure we had all things accounted for. It’s only 3 months out from our wedding and we’re already hosting another event!

Let me start off by saying, I was a girl who never cared to get married, until I found Sacred Mountain Julian. I knew immediately from their photos, I needed to book my wedding there. Right when they announced their 2023 reservations were open, I immediately booked a walk through and basically booked my fall wedding. First off, the Sunset Plateau is so amazing and breathtaking to say your vows. I specifically told my photographer that I wanted to take as many photos possible on the property. Every area offers photos ops of your liking. The team there is amazing to work with. I recommend visiting the property to see the beauty for yourself.

DJ Dylan with Dancing DJ was absolutely outstanding. He met with us a week before our wedding to run through our timeline, requests, and any special notes. The day of was SO seamless thanks to Dylan, he kept us on schedule perfectly. For the ceremony, he walked through the mic with our officiant and nailed the processional song timing. Dinner music was spot on and he MC'd the traditional dances perfectly. But the best part was by far the dancefloor, which was absolutely LIT. Conner came, saw, and conquered. We had most of our guests telling us the night of and the 2 weeks after our wedding how sick our DJ was, and how poppin' the dance floor was. People didn't want to leave the dance floor to even get a drink! He surprised us with an epic, personalized song where he used part of the groom's vows in a song with a huge drop. Conner absolutely crushed mixing all the genres we asked (from 80s rock to 2000s hip hop, to dance music) - I truly cannot believe the vibe & energy cultivated by Conner. We cannot (CANNOT!!!!!) recommend him enough. If you want a fun, never ending dance party, BOOK THE LOVETAP!!!

SD wedding films had some really great pricing/specials they were running and we booked pretty quickly. They were easy to coordinate with and our videographer, Jacob, was amazing! I got married here at the beginning of June and it was the best day of my life and Forgotten Barrel definitely made it an amazing day. When I first came here to tour the place, Alyssa made me feel like a bride and not just another person looking for a venue. Korina went above and beyond for our wedding. I’m very indecisive, and Korina was VERY patient with us during the planning process. She offered helpful suggestions and ideas, but was also open and prioritized the bride and groom’s wants first. Communication was always prompt. Preparing for the wedding felt like brainstorming with a friend as opposed to how intimidating planning a large event can be. During the wedding, Korina was calm and collected, which helped with our own wedding jitters. Even when we thought her duties were over, a decor item was left behind at the venue and Korina made sure it got back to us, even if it meant a drive since we aren’t local to San Diego. Reveal did an incredible job with my hair and makeup as well as my bridesmaids and the mothers. I got many compliments on both my hair and makeup. My makeup was especially fabulous and lasted all day and night even through my tears and all the dancing. Bridal hair and makeup was 320. The other girls were 220 for hair and makeup. If you wanted just one service, it was 150. I found these prices to be very reasonable. The girls came to our VRBO the morning of and worked efficiently and were very nice.

Joanne and Jamie were easily one of my favorite vendors for my wedding. I got married April 7, 2024 and had my hair trial on February 3. I found Joanne’s company through one of my Instagram friends, who also got her hair done with them. I was immediately taken with them for two reasons: 1) They had no minimum person requirement 2) they were so so so quick in their email communications (something I found was super rare when looking for hairstylists). Immediately upon visiting for the trial, I knew I was in good hands. They were both so sweet and really took into consideration my preferences, veil & dress, and venue when making suggestions. I felt so comfortable with them (and they even gave me some tea!). On the day of the wedding, Jamie arrived promptly at our getting ready location and was quite efficient and effective in doing my hair. I never was worried that my hair would fall out during the wedding and the fact that I never once thought about my hair all night is a testament to how well it was done. And as I look back on my photos, I constantly look at my hair, impressed by how well it stayed curled and beautiful all day (even as I danced for 2 hours straight). I could never recommend Joanne and Jamie more for your big day.

She was so well-organized and professional while also keeping things stress-free, light, and fun. There were no questions too big, too small, or too personal with all the drama that can come with such a big event. Miranda was easy to reach via text/email, and took the initiative to reach out and schedule check-ins when needed to make sure we stayed on track with the huge to-do list that comes with a wedding. Her vendor recommendations & other suggestions were awesome, but she also respected a couple of the areas where we found our own vendors with no questions asked. She took all the stress off once we got to the month of and leading up to the wedding day, confirming with our vendors so we didn't have to worry about it whatsoever. Our wedding day went seamlessly thanks to her--it sounds cliche but it was the most fun and beautiful day ever and we were able to really enjoy it thanks to Miranda. Irina is an awesome and experienced photographer which is helpful when you have no idea what to expect on your wedding day. She works with you and your coordinator to make sure you get the shots you want. She even recommended some based on previous weddings she did at our venue. The planning process was straightforward and her rates were reasonable. On the day of the wedding she helped us get ready and reassured us that everything would be okay. She never stopped taking pictures and captured some wonderful moments throughout the night. We anxiously awaited our photos and they turned out better than we expected. She did a wonderful job capturing all the important memories. All of the pictures were gorgeous and she really made you feel special. A uniquely private wedding venue in quaint Rancho Santa Fe, California. The Secret Garden at Rancho Santa Fe is currently reserving into 2025 with just one wedding per day. The grounds offer a natural background of gardens and lush greenery, with the perfect balance of indoor and outdoor spaces. As a bonus, they are a short drive away from stunning California beaches and can accommodate requests for off-site ceremonies, including a beach cliff wedding ceremony.

The Secret Garden was the perfect venue for our group of 105 guests in May. It has an intimate feel, but still feels open and welcoming. The flowers were in bloom and the grass was very green. The coordination team did an amazing job accommodating all of our set-up requests and took great care of us on the day of. We are very pleased with everything and loved the preferred caterer and DJ that were part of the all-inclusive package. Overall we found this venue to be one of the more affordable options, especially given you bring in your own alcohol/drinks and can take home what’s leftover. This saved us at least 50/person. The surrounding area and city of Rancho Santa Fe are gorgeous. Parking was easy and all our guests loved the venue.

From the moment we began working with Hector David and Ebullient Memories Films we knew we had made the right choice in our wedding videographer. He took the time to really get to know us, our story as a couple, and our hobbies. We even found some shared interests, like traveling to Japan and watching Formula One racing! Each email felt warm and sincere, like we were talking to a friend. Hector was also very thorough in finding out exactly what kind of shots we wanted him to film.
