Rob and our DJ Jordan B were so great to work with and were one of our favorite vendors for our wedding! The booking process was easy, and communication was fantastic. Any questions, requests, or info I needed was answered and addressed so quickly and efficiently, and it really makes the entire wedding planning process just that much easier. All our favorite songs playing throughout our wedding at key moments like our ceremony, reception, and first dance made the event feel so dreamy and cinematic, and I can’t thank Rob and Jordan enough for making our event so memorable. We also booked our photo booth (Feature Booth) through them, and it was the same amazing communication and day of execution. As a graphic designer, I wanted to customize the text around the photo to give it a little bit of a special touch, and they were able to accommodate this and send me a digital preview as well. They definitely know what they’re doing at Second Song and definitely a team I would recommend to couples for their upcoming weddings!

I’m not even sure where to begin to describe how amazing Events by McKenna is at what they do!! McKenna is the most kind, helpful, and enthusiastic person to assist you during such an important time in your life. She made sure everything went perfectly on our wedding day and every day leading up to it! When we first started our wedding planning journey, we only knew where we wanted to have it, and due to the venue location not regularly being used for weddings, we needed to outsource vendors for everything. That's where McKenna came in and helped us out by hand-picking every vendor that she knew would provide the exact things we were looking for. From catering, florals, furniture rentals, DJ, and all the little details, she knew who would be perfect for the job and she was right about every single one! Every time we had a question or a crazy idea, she had an answer right away and she would do everything she could to make it happen. DJ Trey is THE BEST DJ!!! I wish we had even more time on the dance floor to keep letting him mix because he’s a genuinely fantastic DJ! Not just a DJ who sets up an iPhone or Spotify and lets it ride mindlessly, but a DJ who reads the crowd, takes input from the bride and groom, and uses his skill and best judgement to provide music that gets everyone on the dance floor. Literally everyone at our wedding was on their feet for dancing and loved all the music DJ Trey played! He also was fantastic in making sure all of the music played on their appropriate cues and was well-prepared. My partner and I’s venue search ended the second we ascended in the historical elevator to the penthouse of the James Oviatt Building. The Oviatt venue is a multifaceted piece of beautiful Art Deco history that lends itself well to whatever event you are trying to throw. In our case, they hosted our wedding. We will forever be grateful for their immense care and kindness leading up to, on, and after the big day. We met the President Gabe first, who had his own wedding at this venue before he managed it. He made us feel right at home and answered every question we could muster. Our one hour showing turned into a two and a half hour conversation where his care and passion for the venue and his clients became very clear. We felt a connection right away. He shared a wealth of great advise and reassurances and gave us an impeccable pool of preferred vendors. We were sold in minutes. Every event is different, but my partner and I did not feel the space needed any help to become beautiful. The architectural art of the space is breathtaking and unique from the valet area outside of the Cicada Club all the way to the terrace. We saved a fortune on a florist. Who needs one when everything is already so classy? Speaking of class, the Director of Events Lindsey took point on execution and was our resource during the planning process. I as an individual am not the most communicative. I needed someone with that attention to detail and she delivered. After giving her all the venue required specifications (seating chart, insurances, etc,) two conversations was all it took for her to equip the venue with everything it needed and make it gorgeous. It seemed effortless for her. Not a spec of dust or dirt to be seen and the staff was respectful, efficient, and welcoming. I had a panic attack because I forgot to ask them for valet and she was able to get her people on it without issue the same week as the wedding. (Don’t be like me, but that is a perfect example of how on top of it they are.) They had EVERYTHING we could have wanted for a downtown metropolitan wedding and then some. If they didn’t have it? They knew exactly where to refer you. One of my personal favorite features was their completely customizable LED lighting strips on the hedges that lined either side of the rooftop. We had them a bright warm light for dinner and then a cycle of rainbow colors for dancing. They are inclusive and welcoming to any and all who come to visit. We felt valued, respected, and well cared for. It truly was the best day of our lives and we owe it all to The Oviatt. I implore to to reach out to them. I can say with certainty that you won’t be disappointed and whatever it is you are planning will become a memorable experience unlike any other.

Some Pros from the night: - I often find wedding DJs to be way too cheesy/hammy or super low-energy and disinterested. Our DJ was lively and engaged but not over the top, it was perfect. I also appreciated how well he was dressed! - My Do Not Play list was loooooong and they stuck to it! - I definitely felt like he read the room and switched up the vibe as needed - The DJ booth set up was a pleasant surprise - it was really cool! I wasn't expecting more than just a table and black table cloth. But the nice equipment and the vinyl records on display really added a lot and complimented the vintage feel of the space. Guests noticed and were complimentary, too! Cons: -Only one "con" and it's nothing major, but we did opt for the live musician accompanists and I'm not sure it was worth the added cost. I was expecting the live music aspect to bring some additional energy, but they actually were pretty subdued and hung back by the speaker. I'm honestly not certain everyone even noticed they were there.

We found Lulan Studios about nine months before our wedding day. We were immediately drawn in by their professionalism and their reputation. Lulan is an inclusive photographer who was very receptive to our wedding vision. He and his team were incredibly kind, supportive, and helpful all throughout the process. We elected to go with Lulan Wang himself for our photographer who worked with an associate. After our initial consultation we were turned over to Shannon who was our go to contact for day to day clarifications and vendor contact until Lulan took over just before the wedding. Shannon was immensely resourceful and responsive. She communicated with our coordinator very efficiently and was always on top of our booking. We are very grateful to her as well for making the process so easy and for continuing that communication after the fact. On the day, Lulan and his associate were spectacular. It was clear his associate had more than enough talent for the job just like Lulan, but they divided and concurred by using two different types of cameras for different types of shots. We regret not doing an engagement session with them, but we will likely return for an Anniversary session in the future. We didn’t even need one though, because he is skilled enough that he understood us as a couple immediately. They made us feel comfortable and confident. They hyped us up and moved through the shot list masterfully. Nothing was missed and we captured far more than we expected. Please look through our attached photos as they speak for themselves. One of the most exciting moments was when Lulan handed us a little blue book filled with about fifteen physically printed preview photos DURING THE RECEPTION. A lovely surprise that absolutely shocked me. Turnover was 4-6 weeks and we got ours just before the six week mark right on schedule. We were floored. They are jaw-dropping. We ultimately got 950 photos permanently digitally available for high resolution download and access to a shop with impressive options for prints and albums of a wide array of types and sizes. I’m thrilled to show them to you here and implore you to consider booking Lulan Studios. We trusted in their ability from the beginning and we were not disappointed. They are among if not the absolute best in the business.

When I say that Dylan and the Moon Units MADE our wedding, I am not exaggerating. They not only delivered, the exceeded our already high expectations in every way possible. Music was extremely important for my husband and me, and we knew immediately that we wanted a live band to elevate the evening. We found Dylan and the Moon Units' information online, and after finding that they were very within our budget we reached out and Dylan invited us to one of their gigs in Hollywood. We loved their vibe and booked them. We asked Dylan to play both our ceremony and our reception, as well as play preset playlists for our pre-ceremony and cocktail hour. Now, I must admit, because music was so important for my husband and my special day, we had *very* specific ideas for what we wanted. Dylan was extremely communicative, answering all of my extremely needy and detailed emails in a timely manner and doing everything he could to reassure me that we were in good hands. We made selections from the list of songs they knew, and also asked them to learn about 10 new songs for us, ranging from unique arrangements of existing songs to deep cuts from 90's movies. Dylan's communication was warm, expeditious, and professional, and I felt really well taken care of. At our wedding, though, is where they exceeded our expectations. The live music they played was amazing, and set the tone for our wedding in the exact way we were hoping for. At the reception, they kept the energy up with a perfectly curated playlist of our requests (and we had quite a lot!) songs they knew would keep the party going. Their song choices appealed to the older crowd as well as the Millennial crowd. Dylan even help me set up a surprise performance for my husband, where I sang one of this favorite songs ("Go Cubs Go") with the backing of the Moon Units band. It was an incredibly special moment. And creating special moments was what Dylan and the Moon Units did best. Somehow, they managed to keep the dance floor packed the entire evening. Months after our wedding, our guests have continuously called out Dylan and the Moon Units as an absolute highlight of our wedding, saying that it was musically one of the best weddings they have ever been to. All-in-all, I cannot recommend Dylan and the Moon Units enough. As someone who was VERY specific about the music at my wedding, they exceeded all of our expectations. Book them for your wedding ASAP - you will not be disappointed.

I met Christina at a Bridal Expo and was amazed with the offered Day Of Coordination package. I was able to easily communicate my priorities on the special day and even share my wedding pet peeves to avoid. Christina was excellent at brainstorming ideas and suggested plenty of ways to approach a situation. When we worked on building the timeline together, she was very thorough and insightful. I sent her so many timeline revisions (as timing means EVERYTHING and it definitely matters), but Christina took them and made it look seamless. On the wedding day, Christina and her team (thank you Heather and Leanna!) made sure we were happy and stress-free. Our morning started with Heather running the errands of the busy morning and was the go-to person for myself and the wedding entourage. Heather was also able to help us create a floral bouquet we used for our ceremony offering. It turned out so beautiful! She did a terrific job. I was always reminded to take a bite of food and to stay hydrated while we were getting ready. Christina helped us execute the ribbon wand exit after our church ceremony. It turned out to be one of the highlights of the day. Everyone had so much fun doing it. As for the reception, Ingobo was able to help set the table decorations- centerpieces, candles, name cards, order of guests, etc. Leanna was at our side making sure we were well-fed and no one pulled us away from the sweetheart table. She was able to give us reminders of the timeline and was very sweet. Overall, Christina and her team orchestrated our wedding day perfectly. We received many compliments from our guests stating they noticed how smooth the day went. Ingobo's Day of Coordination services made a huge impact on how we were able to enjoy our special day. Mysi, Mysi, Mysi. Where do we even begin. We were passed along Soda Pop as a preferred photography vendor and fell in love with Mysi's work almost instantly. We were thrilled when Mysi did have availability and we then met to just talk. Mysi is a professional and is very good at what she does. However, our favorite thing is that she's also very approachable. We immediately felt a friendship brewing and it made it very easy for us to open up about what we wanted, what we were afraid of, etc. Both my wife and I historically are not great at pictures and after calming us down a bit, she reassured us that she was going to make sure the photos we'll have were going to be amazing, and that we would look good to. We decided to book Mysi for a few hours before the actual reception to get some shots across the city and then during the reception as well. We also then later asked her to come with us on the day we got married to take more photos with our families and our little dog as well. Both times she was punctual, had everything under control, and used her keen eye to take some memorable shots of us, our families, and countless friends and guests. P.S. she's a dog person and our dog took to her immediately as well, which helped provide some jaw-droppers of the little guy. Like, model-status. But I digress. We were both definitely nervous but when we did get our photos back, we were beyond happy. Mysi and her colleague captured so many amazing memories of all of our families and friends, our grand-parents, little toddlers, just everyone. All of the work she did with us produced some amazing pictures of us as well which we'll have for a lifetime. From the start Stephen Tang was extremely professional, I found him on Yelp and checked out his work on Instagram. He was extremely prompt in replying when I reached out to him, provided additional samples of his work, and made himself available to discuss the types of shots we wanted beforehand as well as provide his expertise and guidance in framing beautiful photos. After my initial phone meeting with Stephen I knew he would be the perfect fit for our needs and my husband and I are extremely happy with the quality and caliber of his work. We had several phone meetings to discuss our needs, schedule for the day and to help Stephen understand us as a couple. On the day of our event he arrived before the allotted time, he arranged and set up the entire room, and added lighting and equipment before we arrived. Upon our arrival, he was cordial in greeting us, understand what we wanted and needed and did a temperature check. He made suggestions about where we should place things throughout the room to improve the shots. He was very knowledgeable with how and where we should pose for the perfect shot. He made us feel extremely relaxed even during the most stressful situations and helped to redirect family members to someone other than us to handle some hiccups for the night. Stephen was extremely patient, polite and listened to what we wanted and read what we needed. He gave helpful suggestions which shows his expertise and experience. He was a calming force for the night and did an amazing job making our mediocre venue look AMAZING. The photos he delivered were absolutely breathtaking and he was able to turn our average venue into fairytale-like photos. The candid shots he took throughout the night came out beautifully and allowed us to see our event from different perspectives that we otherwise would have missed. Stephen is personable, knowledgeable and professional, he’s able to frame the shots, be respectful and understand the needs of his clients. He was not controlling at all, and made sure we took all the important photos we wanted while letting us enjoy our wedding day. Porterhouse LA did a fantastic job photographing our wedding. Zyaire was artistic, punctual, and precise. We received our photos very quickly after the wedding, and are absolutely in love with them. We’ll treasure these for the rest of our lives, and have had so much joy from sharing them with others. The comments we’ve received have all been about how beautiful the wedding looked, how good everyone looked, and how gorgeous the photos were overall, which is exactly what we were hoping for. Zyaire met with us over Zoom twice before the actual wedding, and took every one of our concerns and questions seriously. He had a good answer to everything, and it convinced us that we were dealing with a consummate professional. We also asked him to shoot our welcome party for guests, and he was able to oblige with that, as well. We first met him in person for the welcome party, and he was already there when we arrived, getting background shots of the venue. This was something we hadn’t even considered, but it was really valuable - having shots of the venue, and the venue for our wedding, helped put the other photos in context for people who weren’t able to attend, and gave us mementos of the locations themselves.
