Published in Brides, New York Weddings and Brooklyn Bride, Sandy's work walks the line between fine art and documentary photography, allowing each day to unfold naturally and be remembered artfully for decades to come.

I love people. I love families and their stories, and telling the whole sprawling narrative of a day through timeless, spontaneous images that capture emotions and moments that you might miss. I am honored to get to know people and act as a witness to their love, and I love to document your best selves on your happiest days. My goal is to be a calm force that helps you move through the day seamlessly so you can relax and enjoy as much of it as possible while still getting the images that capture the atmosphere and energy of the day: memories made visible that you'll be able to keep forever.

    Some people are naturals in front of the camera—but we’re not that couple. Finding a photographer felt daunting until we discovered Sandy’s work. Her style struck the perfect balance of authenticity and creativity, which matched the casual, thoughtful vibe we wanted for our wedding. Like most couples, we couldn’t shake the worry about how our photos would turn out, but meeting Sandy for the first time and sharing an engagement shoot eased many of our concerns. Sandy felt less like a vendor and more like a friend from the start, helping us (try to) relax and encouraging us to be ourselves in front of the lens. On the big day, Sandy and her assistant Marina showed up with the same calm, confident energy that had already put us at ease. Their chill yet professional vibe made all the difference, and without it, we don’t think we would’ve gotten the incredible shots we did. It felt like Sandy had stepped right out of our planning mood boards—she just got it. The photos we now have to cherish forever speak for themselves.

    Sandy is an amazingly talented photographer and a wonderful person to be around and we are so grateful to have had her shoot our wedding! Neither one of us loves being on camera, nor would we consider ourselves especially photogenic. But Sandy is an excellent communicator and she made sure that we knew what to expect ahead of time, heard our desires and concerns in advance, and made us feel extremely comfortable on the day of the ceremony. That comes across in the photographs, which far exceeded our expectations, even knowing Sandy's talents. Everything came out beautifully, from the couple photos we took before the ceremony wandering the streets of Greenpoint and Transmitter Park, to the posed and candid shots from the ceremony, reception and dinner. Sandy managed to capture the essence of the day; we couldn't stop smiling as we looked through the photo gallery and had a chance to see the joy of the event and the love that was in the room in a way that was a bit harder to absorb in the heat of the moment! We feel so, so grateful to have had Sandy photograph our wedding, anyone tying the knot would be very lucky to have her shoot theirs!

    We're so happy we chose Sandy to photograph our wedding. She captures emotion beautifully, and her pictures feel like true works of art. I struggled to find a photographer I loved — I think a lot of wedding photography can look cheesy, posed and stuffy — but when I saw Sandy's work, I was obsessed. Not only does her style have a natural, laidback sensibility, but it captures nature beautifully. Our wedding in a scenic spot in upstate NY, and her photos truly do the landscape justice. I loved that she shoots with both digital and color/black-and-white film. We got a great range of photos that captured the elegant-yet-relaxed vibe we were going for. She's also such an easygoing and sweet person, and it was a joy to have her by our sides all day. We highly recommend her!
