Hi hi, I’m Joy Imani (she/her). I capture real, heartfelt moments through digital and film photography. My work is all about connection, storytelling, and making you feel seen. With a name like mine it's hard not to use a pun in every sentence, but I truly do love to capture joy in all the forms that it comes, and each client that invites me to be a part of one of their most joyous days is an honor.

I earned my master’s in photojournalism, and I see photography as a way to capture moments as they truly are—even the ones that often go unnoticed. For me, it’s a form of meditation, a way to find those quiet, intimate emotions and preserve them, so they can be felt again through each photo.

    Joy has been there to photograph a few milestones in my life. She photographed my actual surprise engagement and eventually my engagement photoshoot for save the dates. She has a way of capturing love and life in a powerful way. She makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera and her love of the craft really shines through in her photos. 10/10 would recommend, every time.
