Sean Kershaw & the New Jack Ramblers

Sean Kershaw & the New Jack Ramblers formed in 2001 as a loose collective of musicians from various backgrounds who got together to play country music for fun. By the mid-aughts the band (now firmly centered around Yours Truly, Sean Kershaw) was a well-honed, professional music outfit playing everything from club dates to weddings, festivals and corporate and charity events. A CD, Coney Island Cowboy was released and the band hit the road, touring the East coast, California and Alaska. Sean also toured Australia using local musicians. Fast forward to 2023 the band is going strong, playing monthly gigs in Brooklyn and events everywhere.

Sean Kershaw & the New Jack Ramblers play "Hi-Octane Honkytonk", a fast paced gumbo of classic country, rockabilly and jump blues. We mix originals and covers seamlessly in our set, and have been told many times "We don't listen to country but we like you" or "I've been a country fan my whole life and y'all are the real deal". Suffice it to say, we can get a very diverse room dancing. Most of our cover songs date from the 30s to the 80's (so, bluegrass to Hank Williams Sr to Chuck Berry and Johnny Cash to Stray Cats) and our originals blend well with that material. We also do requests, sometimes even outside our regular genre. Just ask!
