My father handed me a camera when I was 7 years old and told me to shoot, everything, everywhere. I have had a camera in my hands ever since. After 8 years in Los Angeles I chose family over Hollywood. I wanted my kids to have the childhood experience I had – trees, dirt, animals and nature. Once back in Sonoma County, I had the great fortune of apprenticing with an award winning wedding photographer. After several years of the work, I was hooked! It’s an honor being with people on one of the most important days of their lives. To tell the story of it. To capture the beauty, the excitement, the drama of it all.

I was raised north of San Francisco in beautiful West Sonoma County. My wife and I moved back home after living in Oakland for a number of years, and are now raising our daughter in the home my wife grew up in - it's magical. I love finding new places to photograph in Sonoma County and beyond, and I love making new memories in the familiar places I know so well. Weddings make me giddy, and I can't get enough of that feeling. Besides photographing weddings and spending time with my family, I'm also a lecturer in photography at CSU East Bay. Teaching what I love is a true gift, and I'm grateful for this opportunity to share with my students.

Vine Hill House is a beautiful wine country estate situated amid world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards and heirloom organic apple orchards that have been owned and operated by the O’Connell family since the 1930’s. It is located on the O’Connell Vineyards and Apple Orchard Estate in the Russian River Valley wine region of beautiful Sonoma County. To the east, the scenic views look over hundreds of acres of vineyards and stretch across the Santa Rosa Valley to Mount St. Helena and the Coastal Mountain Range in the north to the San Francisco Bay Area in the south. To the west, the views look out across the vineyards and apple orchards to Green Valley and the Russian River Valley. Vine Hill House estate gardens include a grove with Douglas firs, redwoods, and oaks in a natural setting, spacious lawns and lovely flower gardens, and many other delightful extras. Built in 1871, Cow Track Ranch sweeps from the floor of Nicasio Valley surrounded by rolling hills and trees. Located 1.25 miles down a gravel road, the ranch is a quiet location with an authentic rustic vibe. The reception barn, an original 1970's hay barn, displays a collection of antique gold mirrors, dimming chandeliers, bistro lighting and a built-in stage. The barn includes farm tables and décor. A large prep space with tables, refrigeration/freezer and wash area is available for catering use. Two oversized wood doors welcome guests into the tin barn which has one open side providing views of the rolling hills. Ceremonies take place atop the knoll behind the reception barn by a large rock or in front of the historic wood barn, built in 1871. Enjoy cocktail hour in the barnyard and the corral is a great space for guests to dance the night away under the stars. Our venue include lodging and exclusive use of the property which makes your special weekend relaxing and enjoyable.
