Welcome. I’ve been a make-up artist, chocolatier, a barista, a pet-sitter, a bartender but I’ve always been “that girl with the camera.” (I’ve also been, “that girl who sleeps on our couch” or “that girl who’s booty I saw in the newspaper” but I digress…). Currently, I base my photography business in Petaluma, CA. I grew up in Sonoma County but in my early 20’s I picked up and moved to Manitoba and that’s where I stayed for many years. Upon my return to CA in 2013 I turned my passion for photography into a career. It’s been a journey to call photography my profession, but I’ve always been a photographer and I’ve always been an artist.

I started photography in Sebastopol, CA 20 years ago shooting only film & hand-developing images in a poorly ventilated darkroom I built at home. My inspiration came from the people around me and framing life as it happened. I want to capture not only the moments you're looking forward to on your wedding day but, also the unexpected moments that make your wedding day so special. For the last decade, I’ve been using my documentary-style photography here in Sonoma County to capture incredible, raw moments at Northern California weddings and showcase unique personalities in my portraiture.

    Loren shot our engagement photos and we could not be happier with not only how the photos turned out but how great Loren was during our shoot. Loren went above and beyond during our shoot to make us feel comfortable and natural. She even waded into the river to be able to get a shot of us with our reflection in the water! Loren had our photos back to us sooner than expected and each shot was beautiful and natural. I would highly recommend Loren for any photography needs.

    First of all Loren is amazing, let’s just start there. Loren was recommended by our DJ after we had a photographer cancel on us a month before our wedding. We felt extremely lucky that she had availability as we looked at her portfolio and felt so at ease once we talked to her. Day of wedding she’s great, she’s everywhere, bouncing around our chaos (we had heavy rain leading up to the ceremony time) and was able to capture the most beautiful and very silly moments of our friends and family helping everything come together. Although she says staging is not her favorite, she does a great job in capturing the formality of the event for those photos that end up in family photo sections of your home. Her documentary style is wonderfully raw and emotional, and we are so grateful to have had her as a photographer for such an important day in our lives.

    We hired Loren for our rustic wedding on the Mendocino Coast. She did a fantastic job and we couldn't have been happier with our decision to hire Loren. She was a great communicator, easy to work with, flexible, professional, and an all around lovely person.
