Our Private Dining Room can seat up to 30 people comfortably and has a maximum capacity of 32 people. For your convenience, the room is equipped with a 52” flat-screen television, as well as Wi-Fi and teleconferencing capabilities. GW Fins can also accommodate up to 200 people for a sit-down dinner and as many as 275 for a cocktail reception in our Main Dining Room. Although we are normally not open for lunch, we are more than happy to accommodate groups of 40 or more for a private lunch. Laurenia is housed inside the Pythian Temple which has a history of remarkable local significance. Smith Wendell (S.W.) Green, then one of the most prominent African-American businessmen in New Orleans, commissioned the construction of the Pythian Temple in 1908. The Pythian immediately played an integral part in New Orleans early civil rights movement. It towered over the surrounding neighborhood and became a center of the African American community. Since its inception, The Pythian Temple hosted popular performing groups and African-American carnival balls. The venue led to the formation of the Zulu Parading Club and even housed a popular rooftop bar known as “Piron’s Garden of Joy.” It is said that a young Louis Armstrong first played at The Pythian Temple. Laurenia is named after Smith Wendell (S.W.) Green’s wife. She assisted him in running his business, was a member of the NAACP, and was active in the early struggle for civil rights.

Rue Bourbon Events is a collection of historic spaces within the heart of the French Quarter. Our flagship 207-year-old building is housed within the same structure as the famed Old Absinthe House bar and offers three-floors of private event space. Rue Bourbon Events is a perfect fit for wedding welcome cocktail receptions, wedding after-parties, and goodbye brunches. We offer elevated beverage service with craft and signature cocktail menus available and partner with local legend Cristina Quackenbush to deliver stunning catering options. Spaces within our flagship building can be combined to offer cocktail-style reception space for up to 230 guests. The three floors are united via a spiral staircase. We do offer two satellite spaces for more casual affairs--think collegiate events and rowdier wedding afters. These two spaces are located at 201 and 400 Bourbon Street and do feature limited catering menus due to their lack of an on-property kitchen.
