About this venue
Rue Bourbon Events is a collection of historic spaces within the heart of the French Quarter. Our flagship 207-year-old building is housed within the same structure as the famed Old Absinthe House bar and offers three-floors of private event space. Rue Bourbon Events is a perfect fit for wedding welcome cocktail receptions, wedding after-parties, and goodbye brunches. We offer elevated beverage service with craft and signature cocktail menus available and partner with local legend Cristina Quackenbush to deliver stunning catering options. Spaces within our flagship building can be combined to offer cocktail-style reception space for up to 230 guests. The three floors are united via a spiral staircase. We do offer two satellite spaces for more casual affairs--think collegiate events and rowdier wedding afters. These two spaces are located at 201 and 400 Bourbon Street and do feature limited catering menus due to their lack of an on-property kitchen.

An airy, intimate ballroom-style space with an adjacent sunroom + vintage mahogany bar.
The Parlour and Mezzanine Bar are connected via two turquoise French doors and offer two distinct vibes. The Parlour is a light and bright room with turn-of-the-century chandeliers and vintage built-ins. The Mezzanine Bar is a sunroom-style space with large glass windows overlooking Bienville Street. The Mezzanine Bar features a mahogany built-in bar and exposed brick.

The Prohibition Room is located on the third-floor of our flagship 240 Bourbon Street building and is home to our wraparound balcony. The balcony can accommodate up 45 guests and overlooks one of the best corners of Bourbon Street to catch some of the action (in comfort... and with air-conditioning close by.) The interior of the Prohibition Room features turn-of-the-century chandeliers and vintage hand-painted wine cabinets.

A plush speakeasy inspired by the history of the storied Old Absinthe House building.
Belle Époque Absinthe Lounge is located on the first-floor of our flagship 240 Bourbon Street. Belle Époque features luxe, built-in banquette seating, custom leather furnishings, and the original marble and bronze absinthe fountains used in the Old Absinthe House bar. This space is best suited for intimate seated dinners (up to 30 guests) and spirited cocktail hours.
