The ballroom features large windows on the north and west sides which give a spectacular view of the Millennium Garden, and natural area of the Plymouth Creek Park Reserve. The Millennium Garden is a popular venue for wedding ceremonies due to its natural beauty and peaceful presence. Your guests will be in awe of this “natural oasis” in the middle of the city. A sound system is included so guests can hear your vows, background music or musicians. We are extremely proud of the Plymouth Community Center and Millennium Garden and we are confident it will be a beautiful backdrop to your wedding.

Established in 1883, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) oversees a renowned urban park system spanning 6,809 acres of parkland and water. Featured among its 180 park properties are 55 miles of parkways, 102 miles of Grand Rounds biking and walking paths, 22 lakes, 12 formal gardens, seven golf courses and 49 recreation centers. The interpretive center has several rooms and spaces available to rent for meetings, wedding receptions, galas, company events, birthday parties, family reunions and more! The multipurpose room can be split into three smaller spaces (Aspen, Oak and Willow), two larger rooms or left as one large room. The interpretive center also has a smaller, separate conference room, an exhibit space and a patio space that are available to rent.

The park was originally named Douglas Triangle for the street on which it is located. The name was officially changed to Mt. Curve Triangles (plural), on November 4, 1925, when the previous Mt. Curve Triangle was renamed Fremont Triangle. The park was officially named in honor of Thomas Lowry in 1984. Lowry is best known for developing the street railway system in Minneapolis. The Lowry Hill neighborhood, in which the park is located, was named because he owned most of the land and built his imposing mansion on the hill.

The Phelps, or “Turtle”, Fountain is the centerpiece of the Lyndale Park Annual-Perennial Garden. It was moved here from its former downtown site in Minneapolis’ Gateway Park. The combination of fountain and flowers, contained by an undulating hedge, makes this a popular spot for garden enthusiasts, wedding ceremonies and photographs. The Peace Garden features hardy alpine plants and dwarf conifers and begins blooming in mid-April. The Annual/Perennial peaks in mid-June and the Rose Garden typically begins blooming in mid-June and lasts until early October. Butterflies and hummingbirds can be seen throughout the summer.
