Lissa and her team was absolutely wonderful from the initial contact up to the end of our wedding day! No matter what kind of wedding you're having, she will make you and your partner feel like you have all of her attention as the most important couple. Throughout the whole process, she was so professional and supportive, even with not as traditional ideas. She had such a quick response time, usually within a day, or a couple hours, and sometimes even sooner! Her attention to detail in making my timeline was also amazing and I felt that we were able to have the whole day planned to the dot before the big day. On the wedding day, she made sure everything ran so smoothly and we were not stressed out at all! We had some small hiccups with the layouts that our venue had set up, but a quick word from Lissa had them fixing the issue. She's the perfect amount of assertiveness, professionalism, and friendliness with everyone, including the guests. The largest thing that stood out to us was how much all of our other vendors loved Lissa and working with her, and we could see it throughout the day. Our venue had restrictions such as a short setup window, but Lissa communicated with them and navigated the situation very well to make everything go smoothly. Even though we had a venue management person for the day of, it was nothing compared to working with someone that truly focuses on you and your needs. We hired Meghan Farrar as our day of coordinator for our April wedding at Rust Manor and would highly recommend couples hire her. From the very start, Meghan made us feel like we were her only clients. Her attention to detail was impeccable, and her organization skills were truly next level. Meghan was an organized, kind, reassuring voice for us while planning the wedding. She was also the only coordinator to let us know Virginia’s residency requirement regarding officiants. Meghan was super familiar with Rust Manor. In the countdown to our wedding, Meghan checked in to make sure things were going well, answer any questions we have, and organize us for the walkthrough. Though we hired Meghan primarily for the day of our wedding, she was available to us throughout the planning process. In the month run up to our wedding, Meghan greatly assisted us in organizing the little details of the day and coordinating with our vendors, many of whom had worked previously with her and were excited to work with her again. Prior to our wedding, Meghan coordinated with our various POCs for vendors and the venue, making sure they knew who to reach out to on the day of our wedding and the timing of the day. Additionally, Meghan helped us through some last minute changes due to unexpected events. She was incredibly accommodating and reassuring. On the day of our wedding, Meghan was everything we needed her to be and more. She managed to keep us on schedule, comfortable, and immensely helped our stress. We do not regret the choice of booking them for our wedding. We love a great planning company that will not rip you off. You know exactly where every dime is going thanks to Amaka and her report sheet. They also do not charge you for every little add on like other planners do. Let’s also mention that they always work with our budget, but we usually end up tipping because they're just soo goood :-). One thing we really love, is having our own contracts for vendors. Vendors will send out contracts to Amaka, and she in return will send contracts to the vendors to sign on our behalf so it made us feel very comfortable with booking the recommended vendors. It keeps us safe from vendors that cancel last minute or show up late.

During the month-of, she was super helpful in finalizing all the little design details we hadn't thought of (chairs, linens, lighting, etc) and especially nailing down the timeline. During the day-of she was great working with all the vendors and ensuring everything went smoothly. Highly recommend Veronica & team for any help with your wedding!

Penderview Events truly went above and beyond to make our day PERFECT. As a DIY and meticulous bride, we knew Anna was the one we would entrust with our vision the moment we had our phone consultation; she was so incredibly sweet and enthusiastic about our big day, and I immediately felt a sense of ease that she will be able to handle all the shenanigans and i can pass her the torch with ease. Although she was hired for "day of", she assisted us in any way possible months leading to and made sure we were on top of all the important tasks leading up to the day of (i.e. vendors contact info, finalizing timeline for the morning/day of, etc.). My big day unfortunately started off disastrous (I became car sick), so I was unable to give guidance with the decor during set up. But since one of the tasks Anna asked me weeks prior was for a list with all the decor and how/where I wanted them placed, Penderview legit made my vision come true!!!!!!!! Penderview was so attentive, that they were even able to place some items which I gave no instructions for (i.e. last minute decided that we wanted wedding party to sit during the ceremony, so I made name placement cards for the reserved chairs, and without mentioning it, they were placed on the chairs in processional order). Penderview was able to execute every event and details on the timeline FLAWLESSLY, and I was able to enjoy the event with ease knowing that everything was in such capable hands. We felt and saw how invested Penderview was throughout the day in making it perfect for us, especially the attention to details and handling all the logistics smoothly behind-the-scenes. I also really appreciated Anna’s assertiveness when hiccups would arise (ie, making sure guests wouldnt be walking in while were ready down the aisle/stay out of view, wedding party prioritized drinking and forgot to come back for portraits; flower girls kept running infront of camera during portraits, and so many other headaches i did not want to deal with, etc.) Not only was Anna able to accomplish and execute my vision beyond expectations, but she was also my emotional support and my right-hand lady, making sure I was always hydrated. Anna’s empathetic and kind demeanor made her feel more like a close friend than just a ‘day of coordinator’. Hiring Penderview was the best investment we made. Thank you so much for making our day magical and we will forever be grateful to Penderview!!!

Kolena & her team at Blue Sapphire Events are STELLAR. My husband and I have hectic jobs and I am an evening student which meant we needed all the help we could get to plan our wedding! In stepped Kolena, who helped us design, plan, and execute the most perfect day. We wanted to put up a sailcloth tent and hold our entire event outside at a family member's home. That involved bringing in EVERYTHING - the tents, the tables & chairs, the bars, the plates & glassware, the restroom trailers! and so much more. Kolena managed everything for us - from vendor sourcing to rental coordination to the burdensome permitting process for the tent. She was onsite for every site visit, the tent/rental setup, the rehearsal, and the day itself. From the very beginning, Kolena was capable, calm, and so thoughtful. We were married in May but I don't like pinks & pastels (your traditional spring wedding palettes). Without missing a beat, Kolena designed a gorgeous, lush green & white palette with black accents. She listens and really understands her clients -- it felt so US. Because our event was at a private property, we couldn't accommodate parking for our guests. I was particularly worried about ensuring the shuttles were reliable & ready for our guests. Kolena handled the entire process - from sourcing different quotes through the contract process and on the day-of to make sure everything went smoothly. On the day of our wedding, Kolena seamlessly helmed a vendor team of close to 25 people. She brilliantly suggested we put ponchos on guest chairs, in case it started to rain during our ceremony (it did) and transitioned our cocktail hour from outdoors to under the reception tent at lightning speed. As you can see, I have endless good things to say about Kolena & her team at Blue Sapphire Events. She works harder than almost anyone I've met, she's creative, she truly cares about every one of her clients, and I'm so, so grateful that she lent us her talents to make our wedding day perfect!

I planned most of our wedding, so I was initially on the fence if I should reserve a day-of-coordinator or not, since our venue had a catering manger; but looking back, I would absolutely urge every couple to DO IT. Kristy was the wedding vendor I didn’t know I needed, until I met her! My husband and I hired Kristy as our day of coordinator for our wedding last weekend and she was nothing short of amazing! Once our wedding was about 4 months out and we really started to get into the weeds of planning our big day, we realized that we needed a day of coordinator as we were doing a lot of DIY touches for the wedding and needed someone there to make sure our vision could actually come to life. Upon meeting Kristy, she immediately gave us a ton of ideas as to where to thrift on a tight budget and had so much information and helpful tips to offer. She also took over the vendor communication 3 months out which was a huge lift in the final planning stage! She was very effective in her coordination with all of our vendors and point of contacts so that on the day of the wedding we were really just enjoying the day both carefree and stress-free. Kristy offers a ton of helpful documents to review after your first session with her and she creates a custom timeline for you with the day scheduled to the minute. She was so organized and really kept us on track! Kristy also did an amazing job with the breakdown of the event especially since we brought in a lot of the decor in ourselves. She was flexible in making sure that all of our items got into one of our family member’s cars so it could be picked up whenever we had time the next day. This was a huge help so that guests at the wedding weren’t carrying flowers, vases, and signs home for us and instead headed directly to the after party. She even texted my parents the morning after with the details of where all of our items were stored and shared some great photos (and a reel with us) from the day! :) Kristy was also an advocate for us as clients, which went a really long way. We were having issues communicating well with one of our vendors, but Kristy stepped in and found a way to get a hold of the vendor and ensure our ask could be met. Without that push, our day would have looked a lot different than the vision we had hoped for- she really made our day come to life. After going through the wedding process, I truly think everyone needs a day of coordinator so if you have a slight inclination that someone is needed, think no further and contact Kristy! While weddings can get expensive as we all know, the best use of our money on our wedding day was spent on Kristy. Looking back on our day, we can’t thank her enough!!

Words cannot define the worth and joy it was to have Kawania and her team be a part of my wedding day. She was a constant advocate for our needs and budget throughout the process, being realistic at every turn. What I know now is that what you get with Kawania is experience and know-how of the industry. She has planned several weddings and events before and knows how to troubleshoot mishaps that may happen on the wedding day in real time. She understands that the day of the event is a special moment for everyone involved and she knows not to bring stress to the wedding party and to allow them to live in the moment. At subsequent weddings, I have felt that my friends needed this approach with their planners on their wedding day/weekend. I, being their guest or in their bridal party felt the disorganization that their planners or self-planning brought. This was not the case with Kawania. We had glowing comments about our wedding day for even a year after and how it was not just a ceremony but a day of entertainment. She is an excellent communicator. We had regular meetings throughout the year, about once a week. I have seen my friends have wedding planners who do not get back to them for several days after they have a question about their wedding. Kawania brought my vendors to me instead of me having to look for vendors on my own and when one did not work she always had another one that could take the place. She set up meetings with me and my vendors one-on-one and reviewed all of our vendor contracts to make sure that we were getting a fair contract and that expectations for the vendor and for us were both reasonable and what we were looking for. Being a very busy working professional I appreciated that Kawania went above and beyond to make sure that I stayed on the schedule and was extremely patient when there were moments when I could not. I value how she brought my vision to life and had such great attention to small details that my day was exceptional. I have seen my guests feature elements of my wedding at their subsequent events and it speaks to how she was able to set the bar high for what a classy and unique event should be. Far beyond a wedding planner, she has become someone that I keep in contact with after the wedding. She even checked in on me when there was a major catastrophic event that took place in the area where I lived months after the wedding. There were even moments when I became uncertain or stressed and focused on the wrong thing when it came to my wedding. Kawania, quite like a mother figure helped me realize what my focus should be and to ignore all other distractions so that when I walked down the aisle, I was in full confidence of how the day was going to be and did not feel a single ounce of stress on my wedding day. I could not be more thrilled to work with Kawania again. Although I do not see myself getting remarried I would certainly work with her for any big event I needed in the future. She has such a positive energy and global about her and brings a light to every interaction even difficult ones that makes her pleasant, respectable, dependable, and all around the absolute reason why my big day went off such success. I cannot state how tirelessly she and her team worked so when I did meet them in person but felt like I was meeting friends who knew exactly what I wanted. Create You Events was the reason why our dream wedding became a reality!! My husband and I consider ourselves to be good planners, and like other couples, we thought we could make do without a wedding planner. We were only looking for a day-of coordinator when we reached out to Create You Events. We interviewed Vicky and realized the value she could provide us throughout the planning process. We quickly changed our stance and hired her as both our day-of coordinator and wedding planner. This was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The amount of time and mental energy saved was beyond worth it. Vicky and her team's guidance kept us on schedule and organized during our nine-month timeline. Vicky was able to handle all obstacles in stride. No challenge was ever too big for her, and that calmed many of our nerves. What sets Vicky and her team apart is their ability to complement the areas that my husband and I lacked. We were transparent with those aspects which we weren't as prepared for and our budget constraints, and they would always found solutions or presented us with alternatives that met our needs. There were countless times when Vicky would save the day by bringing up things that we wouldn't even consider! She was great with vendor management and helped identify vendors that fit our criteria. In addition to Create You Events' planning and coordination service, we also opted for their decor services. What was the most dreaded part of planning for us was no longer a challenge. Trust me when I say they made all of our worries go away when it came to decor and signage. We were able to provide our vision and they delivered on every little detail. The arrangements and signage fit the elegance of our theme and venue perfectly. It was a huge benefit having a team that already understood our vision and was attentive to every request. Where do I begin for the day-of coordination? Vicky and her team were the calming force to our chaotic day. We wanted to maximize our day, so we planned our timeline down to the minute. From their planning, they set up our day so that we didn't have to make any major decisions. All we had to do was follow the timeline they put together for us. This allowed us to enjoy our day and appreciate the little moments we would have otherwise missed. Even when things that were out of our control went array, Vicky and her team didn't even flinch from the pressure and were quick to find a resolution, having no impact on our day. Simply put, we couldn't have had a perfect day without the involvement from Create You Events. The planning, decor, and coordination was stress free for us and allowed us to allocate our time to other areas that required more of our individual attention. Vicky and her team were incredibly easy to work with and we felt comfortable enough to share all of our circumstances with her. We will always give the highest recommendation to Create You Events to our friends and family for their wedding and/or any major event. We are still left in awe by how they were able to listen to our vision and run with it. We definitely won't miss wedding planning, but will miss our planning calls with Vicky. I've done a lot of event planning in my own career, but you really can't be your own planner especially in the weeks leading up to the wedding on the day itself. Tyra thought of absolutely everything I needed her to think of and more! And no matter how well a wedding is planned, there are always weird things that pop up as you get to the finish line and during the wedding itself--Tyra handled all of those so my hubby and I could enjoy the day. She had absolutely everything covered to the point that I actually felt a bit guilty about how little I did because, hello, that's my personality. As for Tyra's personality--well, she's the best. Super duper friendly, professional and like a good BFF, not afraid to give it to you straight. Highly, highly recommend. P.S.--This was a second wedding for my hubby and I, and it was a very small group. If you figure you don't need a planner because your wedding is going to be intimate, you're wrong. Trust me when I tell you that you still need someone to coordinate with the vendors, make sure the ceremony musicians aren't dead, talk you through a tuxedo crisis, and literally sprint to jump into your officiant's car, who is lost and driving around the mall looking for the venue. ;)

Tiffany was the first vendor we hired for our wedding, and from then on, she helped us assemble a dream team. We hired Tiffany for the full planning package. With her years of experience planning events and weddings of all sizes in the DMV area, she was able to introduce us to our beyond professional make up artist, cake designer, florist, and catering team. We had a lot of questions and she simply knew all the answers. Our friends and families marveled at how relaxed we were about our upcoming wedding, but there was literally nothing for us to worry about because we were working with Tiffany! Tiffany KNOWS wedding planning and takes great care of her clients AND their families. Natasha worked with Bianca for our wedding this past October, and let me just say this up front to any bride/groom: you may THINK you are type A and can handle any and every small detail in your wedding. You may THINK "how many decisions could I possibly need help with if I already have all of my vendors selected and every event for the weekend is in the same place? EASY." Welp, let me tell you folks--it is decidedly *not*. We had our wedding at the Intercontinental on the Wharf: all 3 wedding events throughout the weekend. I hired Natasha as some decisions were becoming mildly overwhelming and her prices were *chefs kiss*. When I say she and Bianca saved the day MULTIPLE times during our weekend, I am not overstating. She made every vendor organizational correspondence and handled all last minute questions they had--it was the best decision I made about the wedding (minus the groom, he's #1 ;)). Do yourself a favor as the price is MORE than absolutely worth the help and bliss Natasha will deliver you--BOOK.HER.IMMEDIATELY. She also already has working relationships with numerous vendors and locations in the city, which was astoundingly helpful. Seriously. Just book her and truly enjoy your wedding planning process!
