“I don’t even know where to start. My daughter and her fiancé were determined to have their wedding at a zoo. After reviewing several possibilities they chose the Elmwood Park Zoo, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. If you choose to get married at a zoo, animal interaction is one of the top priorities and the Elmwood Park zoo did not disappoint. We chose to include the giraffe feeding for all of our guests along with six different animal encounters throughout the evening. The guest were thrilled. The zoo also offered a variety of different locations for the ceremony and the cocktail hour which was nice to have options. We then chose the Canyon Garden for the reception which was lovely. They recently added a bridal suite which was a nice bonus. The only downside is that there is no adjoining bathroom and outside food was not allowed when the bridal party was getting ready. Perhaps at some point in the future, they will offer a light snack menu. The zoo also offers an extensive menu for both the cocktail hour and the reception. The food was very good and the caterers accommodated our requests for special dietary needs. I have to say we were very high maintenance. We had a specific design vision with many moving parts . In addition, my daughter added several specialized elements to the evening… A peanut butter and jelly unity ceremony , a memory bouquets for loved ones no longer with us and their 2 large dogs participating in the ceremony to name a few! In many ways we pushed the envelop and the zoo met every challenge. We did decide to hire a Day of Coordinator (Lauren from IDoInvites was phenomenal), but the the star of the zoo was Becky Bell who is their Event Manager. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful she is. Her attention to detail was incredible. She made everything look easy.. and trust me it wasn’t! We had a lot going on ! She always had a smile and never got ruffled no matter what issue or change we requested. She is a true professional, and I attribute her to making the evening a success. As I mentioned we also hired Lauren from IDoInvites as our coordinator and she and Becky were in total sync. What a dynamic duo these two were. I would highly recommend the Elmwood Park Zoo for any upcoming event.”

“We had the most incredible experience hosting our wedding at the Carriage house! It has been taken over by Prime Hospitality catering who did an amazing job from start to finish! Our guests raved over the food, waitstaff, and bartenders! Katie and her team took care of every single aspect of our wedding which allowed my husband and I, our families, and our bridal party to be stress free and enjoy the day! I could go on and on about how amazing our wedding day was! Not a single thing went wrong, Katie and her team decorated the venue beautifully, the service was fantastic, and our guests continue to reach out about how beautiful the wedding venue was. It was better than I could’ve ever expected! I hope that the Carriage House starts to see an increase in weddings at their venue because they are truly amazing at their job! Katie coordinated and helped me with planning the wedding out from day 1. She worked relentlessly behind the scenes to ensure we had a great day. The food was the best wedding meal I have ever had and I’m not just saying that because I had my wedding here. The restaurant associated with the caterers “Brandywine Prime” makes amazing food. I will admit when initially wedding planning I was unsure of the carriage house due to the lack of online presence and photos of recent weddings. “I knew from the moment we ended our tour that DCC was the venue for us! Terri greeted us at the tour and walked us through their newly renovated ballroom. My guests are still raving 2 months later about the venue and the high quality dinner and deserts. They REALLY loved the food. My church ceremony was 45 minutes away, so my willingness to travel that far between ceremony and reception is a testament to have amazing DCC is. I wanted a venue were I was confident I wouldn't be worrying about any thing on my special day and DCC provided that. I was able to use their table numbers, glass vases, and back ground arch wish saved me those additional expenses/decisions to make. Terri also offered us a card box, but I opted to use my own so I could add a lock even though the box was securely placed by the sweetheart table. Decision fatigue is so real but with Terri I never had any worries about my reception. I last minute decided to have Sean Reilly, who sounds just like Frank Sinatra, sing during cocktail hour. It was no problem for them to have a dedicated space for him and assist him in his set up. Their flexibility, understanding, and positivity was amazing. The venue is large with a lot of space! The cocktail area is large and the ballroom is beautiful. None of my guests had to wait for drinks since the bar staff was super efficient. It rained a lot on my wedding day, but Terri was super prepared and explained to me the adjustments she would make in the placing of the decor. I have nothing but amazing things to say about Terri and DCC and recommend it to anyone getting married! We had so much fun and are so grateful for Terri and her team!
