Stissing House is one of the oldest taverns in America, located at the crossroads of the village of Pine Plains in the heart of Dutchess County. It’s 90 minutes from New York City, and 30 minutes south of Hudson. It has hosted feasts for generations. Downstairs, intimate dining rooms and fireside lounges are ideal for parties of 8-10 people. Upstairs, the oldest Dutch Colonial ballroom in America is designed for long-table dinners and weddings of 25-150 people. Gather your friends and family for pitchers of shandy and wood fired eggs the day before or morning after your party. Chef/Proprietor Clare de Boer cooks food that is generous and has a sense of place. Ingredients come from surrounding farms and are prepared simply on the tavern’s mammoth hearth. New Park offers two amazing spaces that are unparalleled in the CT area. Fondly named The Barrel Room and The Green Room, they have been lovingly restored and offer vaulted ceilings, beautiful polished concrete floors, gorgeous wood bars, and an industrial but rustic vibe. Our smaller room, The Barrel Room features views into our brew house and barrel aging vault with a seated capacity of 76. Our newer and larger space, The Green Room, features views into our Patty's pizza kitchen and has a seated capacity of 132.
