Hi, I am Kourtney! I am a self-taught Baker who is passionate about pie. With the help from my husband Rodrigo we have created With Love, From Scratch. In 2011 a friend of mine was getting married. She asked me if I knew of a place in Orange County that baked great pies. After searching around a bit, I could not find a unique pie shop to cater her wedding. That is how With Love, From Scratch came about. Giving Orange County the best pie it deserves.

Simply Spun began as a passion project during the pandemic when my sister and I wanted to bring delicious, homemade desserts to people’s doorsteps. What started as a creative outlet quickly became my full-time calling after I graduated from San Diego State with a degree in nutrition and food science. Now, weddings have become our favorite part of the business! Whether it’s crafting a stunning wedding cake or curating a personalized dessert table, we love bringing each couple’s vision to life.

Welcome. I opened Cakewalk Desserts in 2010, as a side project after working in interior Design for several years. It turned out to be my passion! I love being in an industry that celebrates love, creativity and DESSERTS. I’ve worked with such brands as: FitBit, Ted Baker, Disney, American Idol, The View, and have been featured in Real Simple, Town & Country, and San Diego Living. I even have a cookbook published with Page Street Publishing. I’ve shipped my pies all over this country, but am now focusing solely on providing my services throughout Southern California.

Pastry Chef Natalie Soto discovered her passion for food in high school, and would frequently bake for her friends. While attending culinary school, she started her career at The St. Regis Hotel & Resort. It was there that she realized she wanted to focus on the sweeter side of food, and transferred into the Pastry kitchen. It was there that she learned how to make all sorts of sweet indulgences, including chocolate sculptures, tarts, petit fours, and most importantly cakes!!! Sweet as Love was soon born, and she’s been delighting clients ever since. Her passion and talent is designing and creating stylish, unique, and contemporary cakes.
