Terrible Nightmare!
If your wedding day is tomorrow, you still have time to save yourselves and find another videographer! Wild Light Films is the worst videography service we could have chosen for our wedding. We were misled by their flashy short clips on their website. I am leaving this review to warn couples: do not ruin your wedding videography by hiring this fraudulent team! Our nightmare began when Steven, who initially confirmed our date, canceled on us just one month before the wedding. Since we were in a bind, we settled for Charles Guinto, one of Steven’s videographers. Charles videotaped our wedding using a simple photography camera, and he repeatedly paused recording during critical moments. After all, the 1-hour movie we received was nothing short of a disaster. Can you imagine a wedding videographer not capturing the bride and groom’s first dance? That’s what happened to us. Our 2-minute dance wasn’t even recorded in full. Several other important moments, including beautifully choreographed family dances, were cut short. The Groom’s speech was not captured fully and the image was of such poor quality! The most devastating part for me was that Charles completely missed my father’s and uncle’s toasts -an incredibly special moment I’ll never get back. Our wedding was stunning, coordinated down to the minute, and we gave clear instructions to the videographer on what to capture. Still, Charles failed miserably. We even paid a premium price to ensure nothing was missed. He literally taped no more than 7 minutes per hour, and we were left with subpar footage (1.5 hours total raw footage while we paid 9500 for 12 hours filming). The quality was awful, and many of the videos lacked proper lighting. For the entire ceremony, the camera was set behind guests, showing the back of the photographer and videographer, with us completely blocked from view. Even an amateur wouldn’t make such a basic mistake! When we expressed our concerns to Steven, he asked us to collect videos from our guests to fill in the gaps -something a professional videographer should never have to do, and the final product was heartbreaking to watch. I still get emotional when I think about how they ruined the once-in-a-lifetime memories of our beautiful wedding day. Our nightmare continued when we asked for compensation. First, Charles claimed he captured everything, then Steven blamed a memory card failure, only to later point out that their contract didn’t guarantee full coverage! Do not trust their contract! It’s filled with vague terms that leave room for excuses and loopholes, allowing them to deliver subpar results without accountability. When we approached Steven about either editing the footage to a professional standard or providing a reasonable refund, he offered only a 500 refund -a slap in the face given the irreparable loss of our wedding moments. We decided to pursue legal action, and as soon as we mentioned taking the issue to court, both Steven Kopacz and Charles Guinto disappeared, ceasing all communication. They never responded to our texts, emails, or even letters from our attorney. If you want to protect your wedding day memories, avoid Wild Light Films at all costs. They are unprofessional, dishonest, and will leave you heartbroken over what should have been the most beautiful moments of your life.
Response from vendor•Oct 29, 2024Hi Bahar, I’m truly sorry to hear that you feel this way about your experience with Wild Light Films. It made me sick to my stomach when I read that you were unhappy, and I wanted to do everything I could to make it right. Unfortunately, the style you envisioned was something I have simply never created. I’d like to clarify a few points for potential clients, as there may have been a misunderstanding about my services and the circumstances surrounding your booking. As highlighted on my website, Wild Light Films specializes in short, cinematic wedding highlight videos that emphasize storytelling through carefully curated moments. These are what I’m known for and the core of what I showcase online. When Bahar first saw my wedding videos on the website, she fell in love with this style and later expressed that she’d “finally found her videographer!” She was very happy with the main 6-7 minute wedding video she received, saying it beautifully captured her day. However, she later expressed dissatisfaction with an add-on video called the “Home Movie” edit, which I don’t showcase on my website. I understand now that she may have hoped for a more traditional documentary style that wasn’t initially specified, and without examples, it was challenging to deliver on a style outside my usual approach. To clarify an important point, I did not cancel on Bahar and Justin a month before their wedding. They first contacted me on April 21, 2023—just two months before their wedding date on June 25, 2023. After Bahar expressed how much she loved my work and felt she’d finally “found her videographer,” I made an exception and arranged for Charles, my main California videographer who has been with Wild Light Films for the last four years, to film their day while I managed all planning, editing, and communication. I handled Bahar’s wedding the same way I would for any couple; unfortunately, her specific vision was not communicated until after the wedding. Charles, using professional-grade equipment, filmed in 4K at 60fps with 10-bit 4:2:2 color depth to ensure the highest quality. I understand the importance of every wedding moment, and while I deeply apologize for the missed toast from Bahar’s father, Charles followed the style I consistently deliver, capturing the essence of the day through key highlights and angles. My editing approach, as outlined in our agreement, focuses on shorter, curated videos rather than continuous footage of each segment. After delivering all videos, I waited months before hearing back about revisions. Bahar’s first feedback came on January 31, 2024, over 150 days after delivery and beyond the timeframe specified for revisions. Despite this, I dedicated additional hours to re-editing in response to her request. Even though what I initially delivered was exactly what I would provide to any of my couples, I went above and beyond to accommodate additional requests. Thank you, Bahar, for sharing your thoughts. For future couples, I encourage you to review my portfolio and style to ensure it’s the right fit for your vision. I’m always here to answer questions and ensure that my approach is a good match.Highly Recommend
Wild Light Films was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Steven worked with our budget to create films that really impressed my wife and I, as well as our families and friends. Special shoutout to Scott for being so easy to work with on our wedding day and capturing great footage. We highly recommend Wild Light Films for couples to capture their wedding day.

If you’re reading this review, you’re likely considering Steven and Wild Light Films as part of your big day. DO IT!! We were originally drawn to his unique style of work, music-video like approach, and storytelling ability in capturing the essence of people’s wedding days. Working with Steven was incredible and we can’t say enough about how much we loved his work. We booked him back in 2019 for our 2020 wedding, but of course with COVID we had to push it back a year. He was super flexible and accommodating, and we still figured out a plan to have video footage of an intimate ceremony in 2020, as well as the original plan for 2021. He did such an amazing job incorporating the two ceremonies together into one seamless video, which he turned around even quicker than we expected! Steven is a delight to work with—truly a genuinely kind person. His video editing craftsmanship and storytelling are compelling—rewatching our video + highlights felt like taking us right back to the memories and joy of our day. Do yourself and your future self a favor and get Steven to make your wedding video that you’ll cherish for years to come.
