I started Sammycakes in 2014 with a simple ombré rosette cake. It’s always been a dream and passion of mine to open my own bakery, after being inspired by my mother always baking for special occasions when I was a kid.

Every cake is a unique collaboration between my clients and I. No two are ever the same, and that's the way it should be. The price of my cakes varies with the size and complexity of the design. For us, it all started with learning the art of handcrafted doughnuts made from wholesome ingredients. Inspired by history, our recipes started with classic doughs from the 1920’s that we play with based on seasonality and the freshest local ingredients we can find. Our doughnuts are handmade with care, and are fresh every day, of course.

When I opened SF Candy Bar in 2012, the business was busy from the start. In 2012, the economy was just coming out of a recession and Silicon Valley started to attract top talent from all over the world. Experiential add on features, like our candy buffets, was fun at office parties, trade shows and holiday parties. Brides and Mitzvahs also found so much joy in our services. Fast forward to more than a decade later, we have added on more services from popcorn buffets, custom packaged party favors, and trail mix buffets. SF Candy Bar is dedicated to providing stunning buffet designs to guests at special events.

How I describe this phenomenon: “It literally was like a deliciously flavored, puffy cloud that instantly melted in my mouth & tasted like liquid gold. It was the best epicurean experience ever." I had my sights set on opening my own shave ice business & spending more time with my husband & two young daughters.
