Hello, I'm Tyra. I am a photographer focused on getting beautiful images and giving you memories you will cherish and pass on for generations. I first fell in love with photography in high school. Ansel Adams was my hero! I began with landscape photography. Those photos ended up on my walls, and became part of my decor. Eventually people started noticing and asking "Where did you get that picture?". My photography evolved from there. I began doing more portraits, weddings, and less trees and rivers. Now portraits and weddings are my main focus.

I've been a photographer for about 5 years now. To me photographing weddings is so special as I get to document the first milestone of a new family forming, and then often get to follow these families and their future milestones as they may become parents and watching and documenting their kids.

I am a Portland native through and through! My love for photography rivals only my love of traveling. My interest in photography began at a young age, thanks to my Uncle and 8th grade math teacher. After over 18 years of experience, I have mastered the art of putting my clients at ease and creating an environment for them to be present and most importantly be themselves. I have a deep passion for not only the images I create but for the people I work with. I truly consider it an honor to be a part of someone’s wedding day and the images we create together become reflective memories for the couple, not just snapshots in time.

I have been a wedding photographer for over for over 12 years. My husband is my second photographer, so we come as a photo team! Just like you, I have felt awkward in front of the camera. I’ve had photos taken of me that I didn’t like. When you go on a session with me, I will not only make you feel comfortable, but I will make sure you look good! I will give you prompts to keep you moving so you look and feel natural and comfortable. I’m sorry but there are some angles, and poses that are not flattering for everyone. For as long as I can remember, I was always the friend who wanted to do photoshoots in the backyard. I would grab my iPod Touch, have friends model for me, and I would edit their photos though Instagram. Thankfully my artistic eye has matured a little since the seventh grade. I bought my first camera to document travel, and landscapes. It wasn't long before I started asking my friends and family to model for me, aswell. I captured my first wedding in 2019, and quickly realized that this was going to be my career. And, well the rest is history!
