The Lumber Baron Inn & Gardens is an enchanting wedding venue located in Denver, Colorado. Dating back to 1890, this mansion was romantically constructed by John Mouat as an ode to his beloved wife, Amelia. After more than a century, it now operates as a luxurious Bed and Breakfast as well as an attractive event destination. The mansion has been beautifully restored to its original floor plan. The spacious third floor ballroom gives access to the top of the turret with great views of Downtown Denver and the surrounding Potter Highland neighborhood. In the 1890s, the ballroom originally hosted teas, dances and social functions for the elite of Denver through the 1890s continuing on into the early 1900s. Behind the mansion, is our amazing spacious garden. It is an oasis in the city. The Starkey Mansion is both an event and Bridal venue with 6 beautiful theme bedrooms (9 beds) one suite for the bridal couple and others for family and friends. There is a large formal dining room, library, and living room supported by an authentic butler’s pantry, and a large commercial level kitchen. The garden is just under one acre and is graced by lovely rod iron chairs and tables a slate floor for dancing, a walkway and pedestal for the bridal couple to walk down, and always graced in summers with hibiscus, roses, wine vines, an herb garden, and a real old-world pizza oven.
