My team of DJs and I truly appreciate it. A little background on who I am and what sets Frederick DJs apart from the rest. Starting as a DJ as a kid, yes, a kid of only 14! I took a huge interest in the entertainment industry. It started a little before then, but that’s when I got into DJing. I fell in love with playing music for others while working at a roller-skating rink. (Wisconsin Sk8 University) I later moved on from the roller rink where I became a DJ assistant for a solo DJ who specialized in weddings. Let’s just day that gave me a whole new love for the job.

Lucy Black Entertainment is a women and musician-owned, bespoke luxury events company based in the Washington, D.C. area, and available worldwide. Dom Petrellese is a professional guitarist, educator, arranger, and booking agent based in Washington DC. As a graduate of Berklee College of Music, he has had the opportunity to perform worldwide as both a bandleader and a sideman with noteworthy names such as The Drifters, Yakov Smirnoff, The Platters, The Coasters, The Temptations, and Lou Gazzara, just to name a few. His music career thus far has brought him to 60 different countries on 4 continents. Currently, Dom adheres to a busy gig schedule in the Washington DC area, performing regularly at some of the area’s most recognized venues with a variety of different artists and projects.

Aaron is a high end DJ who has worked all over the DC and Northern Virginia area. He began to DJ in 1995, performing at countless clubs and bars in Atlanta to help support his music career as a bass player. Aaron’s love of music began in high school playing bass in jazz band.

A native to the Washington DC suburbs, his musical palate is as eclectic as the community that he proudly calls home. His sets range anything from Top 40 and House to Latin Dance & Hip-Hop. In his words, “it’s all about getting the perfect reaction. There’s nothing better than dropping the perfect track at the perfect time to not only watch but feel the joyful excitement of whoever’s on your dance floor. It doesn’t matter if I’m playing at a nightclub, a local bar or a private wedding; there’s no better ‘high’ and it never gets old.

Essence offers their clients a dazzling array of choices to accommodate any social event. With a father who loves Miles Davis and a mother who adores Smokey Robinson, Cecily grew up surrounded by the music in her parents vast record collection, and was captivated by the works of Minnie Riperton, Gil Scott-Heron, Anita Baker, and Phyllis Hyman. After college, Cecily looked to these rich, soulful sounds from her childhood, and channeled them into her own music. Known for her sweet soprano, honest lyrics and pure vocals, Cecily brings her own vulnerability to each song, telling her story, and hopes that, at the end, the audience feels vulnerable enough to tell their own stories.

Grant Kuhnsman, who performs as DJ ARIA, is a critically acclaimed, award-winning DJ from Washington, DC. He began creating mixtapes and curating his music collection at a young age. By his teenage years, he was introduced to the turntable and learned how to beatmatch by ear with vinyl. Since then he has sharpened his skills and proven himself as a bona fide Open Format DJ that has performed at numerous venues across DC, Maryland, and Virginia (The DMV) logging over 500 wedding receptions, corporate events and private parties in his career.

A vivacious, energetic, soulful band with roots in Funk, R&B, Soul, and Jazz. This group is guaranteed to get you out of your seat and dance! Soultet have been full time touring musicians for almost eight years, having performed all over the country. The band’s sound is built around tightly knit song arrangements and a lively approach to the songs they cover. This ensures an incredible live dancing experience for the entire audience.
