Opening Brooklyn Girl Bakery was the culmination of years working as a pastry chef and cake decorator in the Philly suburbs. As someone who loved all things wedding related, I decided to venture out on my own so I could focus all my energy making beautiful and delcious cakes.

I hold a BS in Marketing and a BA in Business from DeSales University. I have trained with world-renowned sugar artists to expand my cake artistry skills. I am a national competitor with many awards for cake design as well as cake flavors, cupcake design, and cookie design. Over the years I have honed my craft into making beautiful and delicious custom cakes.

Salt and Light Pastry Co. was founded in early 2018 in the vibrant city of New Orleans by Chef Ruby Shenk. Ruby was a Pastry Chef in the New Orleans restaurant scene for 6 years before starting her own business. Lesly's love for sweets & baking started at a very young age. A Pastry Arts graduate from The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College, she launched The Sugary in 2017. Located in the Rittenhouse neighborhood of Philadelphia, The Sugary is a retail storefront specializing in cakes, cupcakes & cookies. Their menu consists of innovative desserts that are made from scratch using high quality ingredients. Crust is an all vegan bakery with a focus on sustainability, social justice, fair and just supply chains and using all natural ingredients. Everything is made by hand in our kitchen in Manayunk by our wonderful staff that we value above all else.

Known for my elaborate, maximalist layer cakes and unique food driven events, I blend high-end local ingredients with childhood favorites, creating flavors and experiences that embody you. My cakes are cloaked in saturated colors, glitter cherries, and extreme piping, giving refined yet a little wild. Perfectly Styled & Sweet is a custom cake shop located in NJ. We specialize in wedding and celebration cakes.
