First of all - the end product was just beautiful. Everything from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony flowers to the table styling was exquisite and super unique. Shannon did a great job incorporating my favorite color (yellow) and a whimsical, organic wildness into the design exactly as I had hoped. From our first meeting to the written proposal, Shannon interpreted my thoughts and ideas exactly. I was so impressed that she took my ramblings and half ideas and pulled them together into what I was seeing in my head. Shannon’s GORGEOUS color palette informed the entire wedding design and gave me a jumping off point for invitations, bridesmaid dresses, other decor, etc. Unfortunately, the process of working with Shannon was a bit challenging. She struggled with nailing down details: incorrect number of tables, inconsistent accounting of candles/bud vases, etc. It took a number of incorrect proposal drafts until we got it right - just weeks before the wedding. We were honestly quite disappointed by Shannon’s flexibility and communication. She self-describes as being highly collaborative, but that was not our experience. First, as beer nerds, having hops in the design was super important to us, and while she flagged early on it could be an issue to source real ones, we discussed using fake. While we all agreed that she shouldn’t use fake hops if they looked bad, we were sad to see on the day of that they didn’t make it into the design. It would have been nice to have heard a heads up from her that she didn’t plan to use them - even if it was just a brief mention on the day-of. Second, when our cake plans fell through at the last minute, we asked Shannon if she could possibly supply a few flowers for our small 6” cutting cake. She told us she would try, but later we heard from the bakery that she had given them a flat no. She never communicated her decision to us. Thankfully, the bakery pulled something together for us (shout out to Zest Pastry!). Third, the Monday before the wedding, Shannon sent an alarming email with the subject line “Head Advisory, Oh No!”, asking us what our plan was. Getting any email titled “Oh No” isn’t fun to receive less than a week before your wedding. Further, as a trusted wedding vendor, we would hope that she would have plans for weather or unexpected events rather than looking to us during a very stressful period. Lastly, (and most disappointingly) despite having a run of day schedule, Shannon was nowhere to be found when it was time to put on boutonnieres and corsages. Our photographers and party thankfully jumped in to help to avoid major delays to portraits (shout out to Katie Slater!). Fundamentally, the product Shannon provided was beyond compare - everything was beautiful. That said, the communication, coordination, and organization were lacking from our experience.

I used Something Borrowed Blooms for my December 2024 wedding. I used them for the bridal bouquet, MoH bouquet, and 2 centerpieces. I got so many compliments on my bridal bouquet and it was so easy to use without any concerns about getting my dress wet or damaged from real flowers. The flowers look real and even smell floral. The mailing and send-back process was a breeze. I would use them again in a heartbeat for another event.

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

My daughter’s wedding was last Friday and it was absolutely perfect. We ordered flowers a few weeks before the wedding and got our first box no problem. The second box with the rest of the order was coming from a different location and UPS made a mistake with our address. If made me so nervous and I thought we are not going to have time to put flowers together but luis stepped in and resolved this situation very professionally. We got our flowers the same day and I can’t thank him enough for acting quickly and being incredibly helpful all they way. All of the flowers that came in looked great. My friend getting married in a few month and I would highly recommend Moxie Flowers to him and everyone who is having a wedding or any other event. A!!!

Fountainhead Floral Design

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

Our wedding was held at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in June 2024. Kate was such a pleasure to work with and really brought our floral vision to life! I appreciated her free excel planning tools and how responsive she was from our first inquiry. After our first phone call, I realized that she is incredibly easy-going and down to earth, in addition to being well-organized. These are qualities you want in your wedding vendors. I have always loved florals and she helped me craft a vision that stayed within our budget. Our theme was coastal vineyard - I wanted the vibe to be loose & romantic without veering too rustic. She found this balance perfectly! On our wedding day, she arrived early and took care of everything quietly without a hitch! I didn't have to worry about a thing. I can't recommend Fountainhead Floral enough!

We also didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on flowers that would only last a day. We stumbled upon wood flowers and discovered Wood and Word Blooms! Working with Jen was wonderful and seamless. She helps you every step of the way to figure out what you would like. The DIY class was so much fun, and we were able to build all of our centerpieces, boutonnières, and bouquets. Jen also built my cascade bouquet and beautiful garland for us! Weddings can be stressful, but with the right vendors your day will end up as beautiful as you are on your wedding day because of people like Marielle. From the moment we met, she listened to my wants and truly blew me away with her creative talents as the only detail I gave her was the color scheme I wanted. She picked my florals perfectly, made my venue and the church ceremony look like an ABSOLUTE dream and made the most perfect wedding bouquet for me and my bridesmaids. Marielle is no short of kind, meticulous when it comes to making your day look perfect and truly wants her brides to have everything they have ever wanted and more. Any bride is LUCKY to have her as their vendor and I am looking forward to more events in my future where she can excitingly make magic happen!!!

Beth and her team did an amazing job. Communication following up to the day was great, I changed a few items maybe two months before and it was no problem at all. Her proposal she wrote out after asking my vision was spot on and got me really excited to see it all the day of. Day of: GORGEOUS. Everything Beth and her team prepared captured the feeling and color palette I was hoping for. The florals were perfect. I teared up at seeing my bouquet. Lindsay was so amazing to work with! We hired her to do the flowers for our very small wedding, and the flowers were pretty much our only decor. Everything turned out so stunning. I only showed her a couple of inspiration/general ideas, and mostly told her that we just wanted bright seasonal (August) flowers, and to go ahead and do whatever she thought was best. We didn't have a set color palette since we didn't have a wedding party, so she really could choose whatever she wanted. This was the best decision I could have made because everything was even more beautiful than I could have imagined! Trust me, if you're not a picky bride, ask Lindsay to surprise you and you won't be disappointed!

VDL Brothers began as a farm with a single grower dreaming of providing locally grown, beautiful flowers. Now, we are bringing the produce of that farm to couples who are looking for fresh florals designed with a romantic, whimsical touch. We love to create soft, flowing bouquets, nature inspired arches, creative statement pieces and installations. We give each of our couples a high level of attention to detail, and dedicate our time to two events per month.

Awarded Best of Zola
My wedding was last month and I am so BEYOND happy I chose VDL Brothers as my florist. Sonja is not only extremely talented but also attentive, reliable, supportive, and consistently went above and beyond to make my wedding flowers and decor special and personalized. My bouquet made me cry (happy tears) when I saw it. As did the boutonnières, wedding party flowers, and decor. Each bridesmaid bouquet, boutonniere and bud vase was unique and intricately done. She really listens to what you want and makes it a reality. During the early planning process she made a personalized event plan complete with my and her own inspiration pics, and kept it updated whenever I needed to make a change. Perhaps the highlight was the Bud Vase wall that she constructed from scratch for my seating chart. It was beyond what you see on Instagram and Pinterest. She also provided a chuppah which was more sturdy and beautiful than any I found elsewhere, and was hands on with managing the set up and take down of all the decor. I was worried about “spending so much on flowers” but honestly the flowers/decor/experience working with her was easily one of my favorite parts of my wedding, and worth every penny and then some. Her pricing is a steal for what you get with her.

Katie was a breeze to work with! I am not big on real flowers and wanted something that would represent my husband and I. Her prices are comparable to real flowers and are even more lovely! I love that her flower designs mimic real flowers and that foliage was an option. She took the care to make sure I had what I wanted and sent me multiple pictures during the process and of the finished result before we picked them up for the wedding. She accepted my feedback and made changes to the bouquets to match my vision. I still have my bouquet and my husbands boutonniere as keepsakes that remind me of our special day. I would use her services again and again!

Dean Street Daisies

5.0

  • Starts at $3,500
  • Serves Stratford, CT

Hi there! I’m Karina, an architect turned floral designer dabbling in all things daisies and more! My enthusiasm for floristry began in Brooklyn as a way to express my love for nature and design, but mostly so I could bring color, life, and beauty into my apartment on, you guessed it, Dean Street! Now, Dean Street Daisies has blossomed into a full-service floral and event design studio on the Hudson River in Irvington, NY where I live and create in a converted chapel with my husband and two cats!

Working with Karina was such a breeze. We contacted her for a bouquet and boutonnière for our elopement and from the beginning it was easy and we trusted her to take care of everything. We sent inspiration photos and she easily put together a beautiful arrangement for us. The best part was that she took care of the coordination with our hotel to make sure the flowers arrived on time for us to be worry free on our elopement day. I would absolutely recommend her and expect very unique beautiful flowers!
