Built in 1913 by Elmer Grey, we host wedding receptions ranging between about 125 and 400 guests with matching outdoor space for ceremonies. Our exclusive in-house catering provides a wide range of menus with different themes and service formats, including California, Asian, Indian, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern influenced items in formats ranging from passed to buffet to family-style to plated to live chef stations. Our downtown Long Beach location provides access to lots of hotels, restaurants, Catalina, the Queen Mary, for a great weekend for your guests. And all roads lead to Long Beach so it's a perfect spot for those with guests coming from San Diego to Los Angeles. Welcome. The Portofino Inn, as it was originally named, was opened in 1962 by racecar enthusiast Mary Davis. The inn drew thousands of visitors for a three-day welcome celebration for the King Harbor opening and soon became a hangout for racers including Peter Revson, an F1 Grand Prix Winner. The Cannonball Run, a car race from New York to Los Angeles turned feature film, was first run in 1971 with The Portofino Inn as the final destination.
