In 1929, Jean-Pierre Auguste Dalmas, a Waldensian immigrant from Villar Pellice, Italy, started construction on the dairy barn on his property in Valdese, NC. After the barn had been completed, work began on the main house. He built a rock veneered masterpiece, large enough to house his 7 children. He cleared a field for a vineyard and until his death in 1972 (at the age of 92), he made wine in the basement of the main house every autumn.

Hello Darling at Boutique Auberge™ is part of the House of Norwood- a collection of well-appointed spaces providing a curated social experience from home stay to special encounter events. The house was built by Superior Court Judge J.C. Rudisill in 1939. Uniquely mirrors the South Lawn facade at the White House. The private house is open to book boutique events in its three outdoor spaces on the property. The house, better known as, Boutique Auberge™ serves as a backdrop for a great event.

Our historic farm which was established in 1890 has since been transformed into a tranquil venue to create lasting memories. Our open-air pavilion with exposed beams and exquisite handmade chandeliers makes for great reception area.
