The Garden Courtyard is framed with architectural brick columns and surrounded by a Tudor style barn building, a charming pergola area, a stately breezeway area and a social garden for cocktail hours. With great pride, the Kenilworth Park District has preserved this community gem to be Chicago’s premier North Shore wedding and event venue. A location full of history and adoration, this Prairie-Style masterpiece was designed in 1907 by famed architect, George W. Maher and is a proud member of the National Register of Historic Places. Featuring an event capacity up to 200 for a seated dinner and 300 for a cocktail-style party, the Kenilworth Assembly Hall brings an elegant and intimate charm while allowing customization to make each event its own. Astoria Banquets & Events is a romantic wedding venue located in Buffalo Grove, IL. Situated just outside the vibrant city of Chicago, this establishment provides couples with the opportunity to wed in an unforgettable setting. The property's team of event specialists is dedicated to providing guests with an all-inclusive experience as they celebrate their joyous wedding day. The property's versatile indoor hall can be customized to accommodate a romantic ceremony or a celebratory reception for up to 500 guests. Once your vows have been exchanged, you will be led to the cocktail hour area and its adjacent garden. The warm hanging lights throughout the outdoor area create a welcoming ambiance that couples can enjoy with their loved ones. For an evening of dinner and dancing, the grand ballroom features glowing uplighting and eye-catching chandeliers and a brand new, huge shiny white dance floor.

The house, known today as Reid Hall, was completed in 1908 and the family moved in on May 5, led by J. Ogden Armour, until approximately September of 1927. Many of the house’s mantle pieces, there are 15, and the paneling of the library reading room (or former living room), were imported from Paris, Vienna and London, including the marble dining room while the main walls are of Italian marble, the central panels of each wall have been painted over the plaster to simulate actual marble. It is also reputed that the marble staircase was built with the primary purpose in mind that their daughter, Lolita Ogden Armour, would descend the curving stairway on her wedding day, which she did in 1921, to John J. Mitchell, Jr. Eventually the property was sold to Lake Forest Academy where classes began in 1948. Today, Academy grounds total approximately 170 acres.

On the first floor, the lovely Tea Room with sparkling chandeliers flows into the Music Room with one of our grand pianos. The double staircase off the marble foyer leads to the dramatic Grand Ballroom, the perfect place for dinner and dancing. The Woman’s Club allows you to select a caterer from our broad list with various price ranges to accommodate your budget. Our caterers are very familiar with the Clubhouse assuring your event will run smoothly. Dinnerware, tables, chairs and other equipment needed to host your wedding are included.

Located in Vernon Hills, Illinois, Loyola Lake County is home to the Cuneo family collection of fine art and furnishings, set in a beautiful 100-acre estate. Since receiving the estate, Loyola has completed a number of renovations and added a meeting and event pavilion for courses, lectures and special events. Loyola will continue its investment in the mansion.
