We can't say enough good things about the Woman's Club of Evanston and especially the venue manager Gretchen. Gretchen is incredibly organized, professional, and simply a joy to work with. The Club itself is a beautiful space and worked perfectly for our wedding of about 120 people (though it can accommodate larger groups too!). We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at the Club, and everything flowed smoothly. The ballroom looked gorgeous for the ceremony, and the stage in the ballroom was perfect for the band to play on during the reception. And there was ample room for dancing!

We felt immeasurably blessed to work with Gretchen and the whole Woman's Club of Evanston team for the 10 months of our wedding planning and the day-of. They exuded confidence, competence, love, and support for us throughout the process; every interaction reassured us they knew exactly how to hold an amazing wedding in their spaces. Coordinating with vendors and supporting guests all went smoothly on the wedding day. The flow of the evening from cocktail hour on the main floor to the dinner and dancing upstairs in the ballroom made for an easy transition and prevented the festivities from feeling spread too thin. We had over 170 guests and each space comfortably held the whole group. As a cherry on top, the building is stunning, augmenting photographs inside and outside. Our guests greatly appreciated being able to walk a block back to the hotels afterwards--it is truly a walkable, wonderful venue to use for your wedding.

If you’re planning a wedding in Evanston, the Women’s Club of Evanston is an excellent choice. The unique architecture, interior design, surrounding garden, location, and management make it an easy decision. We got married at the Alice Millar Chapel of Northwestern University, just a 5-minute walk from the Women’s Club. Our guests enjoyed the cocktail hour on the first floor, which is beautiful, spacious, and unique, with plenty of room for mingling. The upstairs area, with its large windows and uplighting, provided a perfect space for dinner and dancing. It’s impossible not to fall in love with the club immediately! The management is incredibly helpful. Ms. Gretchen Oehlschlager is amazing to work with and always provides useful tips and guidance. For catering, you can choose from a list of approved caterers. We chose Froggy’s and were very pleased. Gretchen also introduced us to a day-of coordinator, Ms. Krys Juleen, who made our wedding day much less stressful. We considered other venues in Evanston, but the Women’s Club of Evanston made our decision easy.

The Woman’s Club of Evanston was the perfect venue for our June wedding! After an extensive venue search, we were so excited to find the Woman’s Club. The venue checked every box we had - close enough to the city for us and our friends and close enough to the suburbs for our family. The venue is also located right between a reasonably-priced parking garage and a lovely Hilton, which accommodated anyone flying or driving into our celebration. Our vendors also raved about the ease of working in that space, from the vendor parking lot to loading areas to elevators. The venue manager, Gretchen, was the best! She is an excellent communicator and answered all our questions promptly, and was on top of all the tasks that needed to be completed. The BYOB policy of the venue also helped us save some money on our beverages. The list of preferred caterers was great and we found someone that was the perfect fit for our fusion wedding. The venue itself is so beautiful. As soon as I walked in, I knew it was just right for us. The first floor is so warm and welcoming, and was perfect for our photos and for the cocktail hour. The second floor ballroom is grand and had such a wow factor. We were able to keep our decorations to a minimum because the venue itself is gorgeous. The space has so much natural light. We used the gardens outside for our first look, which made for some lovely photos. There’s nowhere else I would rather have gotten married!
