Mike Cutler

5.0

  • Videographer
  • Storytelling style
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Marlboro, VT

Greetings! My name is Mike Cutler, born and raised in Vermont. I fell in love with theatre and film in high school and decided to pursue those passions in life, graduating from Full Sail University with a degree in Film. Filming weddings kind of fell in my lap, and ever since I covered my first wedding in 2009, I fell in love with crafting films that the couple love! Couples have said they were so happy to choose to have film as it really brings their day to life beyond the staple of photography. I hope I get the chance to work with you to help bring your day to life for years to come! :)

Awarded Best of Zola
Mike was our videographer for our August 2022 wedding. We wanted a straightforward video to document our day; we discussed our vision with Mike and he was happy to accommodate our request. He was very easy to communicate with and was very patient as we asked lots of questions leading up to the big day. On the day of, we felt that he went above and beyond to ensure we got a great video -- he even included a few drone shots! He was pleasant and professional. Our finished video is wonderful! Mike ensured that all our special moments were captured so that we can look back on them for years to come. I would absolutely recommend working with him!

From the moment we stepped foot into The Hermitage Inn, we knew we had found the perfect venue for our wedding. The quality of the Inn’s service and the vendors they recommended turned into a simply stunning outcome - the venue's ambiance was truly transformative, elevating our special day to a magical, luxurious yet timeless experience. If there were any glitches on the day of the wedding, my husband, family and I didn't notice them, as the team executed everything flawlessly. The food was outstanding, and our guests are still raving. The people who work at The Hermitage Inn are so friendly and detail-oriented - we would choose this venue again in a heartbeat. In fact, all of our family and friends are still reaching out saying how much fun they had at our wedding and calling it the best wedding they’ve ever been to. The planner Gina is exceptional. Her responsiveness and experience allowed her to be on top of every detail. I had some pre-wedding vendor glitches and she was supportive and offered solutions which all turned out well. Gina and her assistant were extremely responsive and knowledgeable throughout the entire planning process. Special shout out to our favorite bartender Amanda and server Kristen - we love you! The custom drinks are outstanding and the options for gourmet dishes that change seasonally are amazing and allowed us to build a beautiful menu for both the wedding and rehearsal dinner in the wine cellar. The Hermitage Inn exceeded all of our expectations and made our special day truly unforgettable. Renaissance Pastry

5.0

  • Cakes & desserts
  • Starts at $108
  • Serves Marlboro, VT

Renaissance Pastry is a Vermont custom cake and pastry bakery specializing in gourmet buttercream cakes, wedding cakes, chocolate sculptures, cookies, and mini dessert displays. Cakes are available for pick up in Brattleboro, Vermont or delivery to Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and throughout New England. Help us to design your delicious sweet treat!

If you’re looking for truly special pastry or cake, I can’t recommend Renaissance Pastry and Chef Maya enough. She made my wedding cake—a lavender and white chocolate dacquoise (basically an exquisite, giant macaron)—and it was unforgettable. As someone who’s gluten intolerant and used to mediocre substitutes, I was blown away. It wasn’t just beautiful; it was honestly the best thing I’ve ever eaten. What made it even more meaningful was that she decorated the cake with my wedding flowers, turning it into something personal and unique. Her passion for her craft is obvious in everything she makes. I have since tried to recreate the cake, but nothing ever comes close. I’ve since had the joy of tasting more of her pastries. If you ever get the chance to try her work, do it—you won’t regret it.

Jenica was amazing to work with throughout our wedding cake selection process! She put together the most delicious tasting package and overnighted it to us in Boston so that we could taste all the flavors we were considering for our wedding cake. We had a difficult time narrowing it down to just one flavor combination because they were all so delicious so Jenica recommended we select two different flavor combinations for our guests to choose from, and we’re so glad we did! Our guests absolutely loved the brown sugar vanilla cake with raspberry puree and chocolate ganache and the pumpkin cake with maple buttercream filling – many opted for a slice of each! The cake itself was beautiful, and Jenica was able to place a few loose flowers from our florist on the cake to tie everything together. We highly recommend Fancy Pants Cakes for all your cake needs!

The make up she used felt natural and lasted well past the reception and still looked amazing at the after party. I do not normally wear any make up (just moisturizer), her make up was light and natural, I did not feel like it was thick or heavy at any time. 10/10 definitely book her, she will make you the most beautiful bride on your wedding day!

The whole experience really put our minds at ease. We chose a very rustic setting and James was able to capture the essence and feeling beautifully in his photos. My wife and I were meant to get married in 2020 in Wales, but the pandemic squashed our plans, years in the making. We were devastated. It was quickly made clear that an international wedding was out of the question for the foreseeable future, so we redirected our search closer to home. After a few months of truly disheartening searching, we were directed towards Scott Farm. Really as soon as we pulled into the parking lot we were in love. It is nestled inside of rolling hills and the land is covered in beautiful orchards and picturesque white buildings. It was like a scene out of a movie--and it really was, as Good Will Hunting was filmed there! The process of planning the wedding with the staff at Scott Farm was truly seamless. Simon was kind, patient, and helpful, leading us through all the specifications and details of the site, and making himself available if we ever had any questions or concerns. And Jaja was a rock star--she went above and beyond in every aspect of her duties, especially on the wedding day. Without her calm and confident presence, trouble shooting problems and reassuring an anxious bride and groom, the day would not have gone so perfectly. I can't say enough about how supportive, pleasant, and wonderful everyone is at Scott Farm. If you are planning a wedding or an event of any kind, do it at Scott Farm!

Something Borrowed Blooms

  • Serves Marlboro, VT

Thousands of brides across the United States and Canada have trusted Something Borrowed Blooms to provide the perfect flowers for their wedding day. We offer brides the expensive peonies, delicate ranunculus, out-of-season anemones, and the ever-impossible-to-find-magnolia — all at a fraction of the cost.

Awarded Best of Zola
Just rent the flowers y’all - after getting multiple thousands of dollars in quotes from florists for our tiny dinner party wedding I started to look for other options. SSB had great reviews, in person or zoom consultations and a VERY helpful FB group that helped me pull the trigger even being pretty skeptical that the quality wouldn’t be there. Fast forward to the day I unboxed them and I was floored, some of the petals even FEEL REAL. Don’t know how they do it. Shipping was easy, fast and return labels were in sticker form to just pop back on. Our guests had no idea they weren’t real, especially with our low light reception it was impossible to tell. It was a breezed - we spent about 450 for 9 large centerpieces, bouquet and a few boutonnières for the guys from the Marlowe collection rather than the 2-3k quite well we’re getting from florists here in Atlanta that at the end of the day aren’t sustainable and would have looked the same (at best). Just rent the flowers y’all.

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.9

  • Florist
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Marlboro, VT

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
We were on a strict budget for our wedding. I knew that florals would be the best way to save on some of the huge wedding costs. I found out about Flower Moxie from googling where I would get wholesale flowers. I was immediately hooked once I saw the flower options, tutorials, and worksheets to help plan out my special day. I am very big on organization, and this website had resources for every step of the way. I found the perfect combination of flowers for my boho wedding. I ordered the flowers about 2 months before our big day. It was a destination wedding, so I was checking into our airbnb on the day the flowers were arriving. I had them scheduled to be delivered at the Fedex holding center near by. I thought the company only used Fedex shipping based on my research. I went into full panic mode when I saw the flowers had been shipped by UPS. I immediately called UPS and Fedex, and to be honest I was stunned at the behavior on the other side of the phone. The flowers were still in transit, and no one would help me with rerouting. I called Flower Moxie to see if they could change things on their side as they were the sender. Luis answered the phone and it felt like I finally had someone looking out for me. I had already spent 4 hours on the phone with the shipping companies and gotten nowhere. Luis said he was on it and not to worry. I ordered enough flowers for 18 centerpieces, 70 bud vases, 8 bouquets, and 1 flower arch. Needless to say, it was quite the ordeal to reroute everything. Over the next 48 hours, Luis kept in constant contact with me about the progress of the shipment. I know I was on the phone for at least 6 hours with this ordeal, and I wouldn't be surprised if he had spent about 15 hours talking to UPS, Fedex, florists, and customs to get me my flowers. He made me feel calm and taken care of. Everyone was coming to me with questions and concerns the entire wedding week, and I can't express how it felt to have someone have my back, and take an extremely big tasks off my plate. I would absolutely recommend this company for DIY brides. And I hope this review is seen by Flower Moxie to highlight an outstanding employee with excellent customer service. In an age when it takes time and multiple attempts in order to talk to a person on the phone, I am so appreciative of the effort that was given by Luis for my wedding day. He made me feel like it was an important event for him too. Thank you Luis for making my wedding dreams come true! My sister also mentioned you in her MOH wedding speech. We were all impressed :)
