Carper Winery is a rural venue just minutes from the Metro! The property comprises of 40 acres, complete with not only the Venue but a lush Vineyard, Willow trees, two ponds and tall golden prairie grass. Outdoor ceremony lawn with Pergola. Ceremony site overlooks the large pond, vineyard and beautiful hillside to create a picturesque backdrop. Guests will enjoy the outdoor patio lounge space during your welcome hour, cocktail hour, and well into the evening when the sun sets and the bistro lights create the perfect outdoor space. The climate controlled indoor space can seat up to 300 of your friends and family members to enjoy a beautiful dinner in your honor. The space is set with an overlooking mezzanine and loft to create a very intimate feeling for your event. In 1972, 70-year-old Ben Vanderhook tore down old barns in Mahaska County and surrounding counties to create our beautiful barn, located a stone’s throw south of Oskaloosa, Iowa. The 3½ acre property includes a 147×46×60 Quonset hut barn, open fields as well as mature shade trees. Debbie’s Celebration Barn is one of the most extraordinary and romantic settings for a Midwest wedding or special event. The event space in the barn is spacious with many options for originality to fit your occasion. Both east and west ends of The Barn feature large double French doors which add to the charm as well as aid in cross ventilation on warmer summer evenings.

Our event space is perfect for Baby showers, Bridal showers, and small receptions. What started as a photo studio for the Farmhouse Photography crew, became a venue dream when the owner found a stunning historical location nestled in the heart of Olde town Altoona Iowa. Built in 1900, this gorgeous space went under some minor renovations to allow an open floor plan, ample light, and lots of farmhouse chic charm. We look forward to serving our bridal shower groups here in our brand new space!
