About this venue
The Alta House Event Center is a hidden gem conveniently located off I-80 and 37 minutes East of Des Moines. Conveniently located near several hotels within minutes of your venue for your guests, overnight accommodations are also available right on site. We are surrounded by plenty of photo ops, such as our on-site pond, heavily wooded areas, the Thirty-acre park, open fields, and breathtaking sunsets as your backdrop. We have several packages available no matter your budget; we will find the right package for you. The most popular package is our "Wedding Weekend Package," providing full access for 48 hours, allowing you the freedom to host rehearsal, ceremony, reception, and even brunch the following morning, all in one convenient location. Day of Coordinator, Shuttle Bus Services, on-site accommodations, setup/teardown, linens, over 2000 decor options, and more! Our high standard of care is unwavering, and our passion for our couples shows through and through.

The Great Room
A simple yet elegant space, with beautiful natural lighting, hardwood floors, and complete setup and tear down.
This space features an open floor plan and open stairwell chandeliers providing a comfortable and cozy space for your guests, The Great Room also has the ability to be draped in white or grey Voile panels and/or lighting from ceiling to floor for a more elegant and romantic vibe. State-of-the-art Surround Sound system and microphone that can be heard thought-out the entire venue.

More of an industrial vibe, our Bar is located on this level, Ideal for rehearsal dinner and transition from ceremony to reception.
This space is 1595 square footage and has a more industrial vibe that can be used for rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, or an additional dance floor if the weather is not permitting outdoor dance. There are two ADA-compliant restrooms for any guests that may have mobility issues.

Our 2000 square foot Patio is the mic drop of our venue.
Our outdoor ceremony area is where 98% of our couples have chosen to get married with the rolling hills as your backdrop. The ceiling has the ability to retract and open up to allow in natural light. We have weatherproof curtains that have the ability to enclose 360 creating an additional 2000 feet of weatherproof outdoor space if the weather decides to turn. State of the art Surround Sound system, with wireless microphone, built-in LED lighting, dance floor, and Rolling hills as the backdrop.

Ideal Space for our Groom and their Groomsmen to hang out and get ready for the big day.
Our Carls Cabin is a full-size cabin complete with all the needed accommodations for a wedding weekend. With our Grooms in mind, we wanted to ensure they also have a comfortable space to decompress and prepare for the big day. Conveniently located within walking distance from the Alta House, directly adjacent to our fishing pond, Disc golf, and pool.

Our Perfect Day
I honestly cannot say enough positive things about Alta House and their staff. Our coordinator made sure our day ran perfectly and was there to help with the little and small things. She saved me so much unnecessary stress. If I had to do it all again I would choose Alta House again without a doubt. The property is beautiful, and the venue can be made to fit your vision no matter what it is.
