This a working family-owned farm. All of the wooden structures have been built with wood off this land. We also have a pick-your-own blueberry operation in June and July. We currently have an country setting venue just miles from downtown Raleigh.

When events can be firmly put on the calendar, you have achieved an amazing feat. Gathering so many people with different lives and schedules for one night is a monumental task. The venue can seat around 200 guests comfortably. The main space is a dream with beautiful white shiplap walls, gorgeous stained plank cathedral ceiling and lots of natural light. The main space is heated and cooled so you can be comfortable in any season. There is a covered porch that leads to a large flagstone patio with a white fireplace, this is a great space for rehearsal dinners or just an extension of the reception space. The bridal suite is in a separate building adjacent to the venue. Recently built in 2023, with nearly 800 sq feet you and your wedding party will have a comfortable space to enjoy the day. Finally, there is an open air chapel that can seat 200 guests comfortably. It has beautiful cathedral style windows in the front and back of the chapel and open arches on the sides. This chapel will make a great rain back up option for your wedding day or if you love it as much as we do, it can be a beautiful plan A option as well.

The Farm on Cotton is a rustic wedding venue located in Sanford, NC. Nestled on fourteen acres of pastoral land featuring a working apple orchard and adorable farm animals, this venue offers a rural ambiance with a touch of elegance. The Farm at 42 offically opened it's doors in March of 2018! Our space can accommodate anywhere from 20 to 400 guests, with separate rooms for food, dedicated dressing rooms, a well equipped stage and a relaxing patio with heaters, fans and a gas fire pit. In addition, we have a smaller space (The Maple Room) that is perfect for those more intimate weddings of 60 guests or less, with "micro wedding" pricing. When you inquire, you will also receive information about our sister location, The Farm at 95, which we opened as our original location in 2013. This venue is similar to The Farm at 95, but has a few different finishes, skylight and a completely different ceremony setting. We hope that between one of our locations, we are able to work together to plan your pefect day!

Ardenwood Farm is a horse farm and wedding destination located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Nestled in rolling hills with views of verdant forests and landscaping, this scenic and romantic location features a variety of picturesque event spaces that include the horse barn, covered arena and old oak tree. This working horse farm and private property offers a variety of indoor, covered and outdoor event spaces for weddings and receptions. Wedding ceremonies can be held in the the courtyard of the horse barn, under the old oak tree, or in the covered arena. Receptions can be held in the indoor banquet hall and large covered wedding pavilion arena with an outdoor patio and pergola with the backdrop of a 47 acre horse farm with rolling pasture land and forests. The beautiful main horse barn provides the perfect location for intimate wedding events such as bridal showers and rehearsal dinners, as well as a groom’s lounge and bridal suite perfect for day of preparations.

When you inquire, you will also receive information about our sister location, The Farm at 42, which we opened in March of 2018. This venue is similar to The Farm at 95, but has simple improvements such as larger dressing suites, upgraded finishes and a completely different ceremony setting. Built in 1934 and renovated in 2017, the barn is a luxury wedding venue in North Raleigh unmatched in its scale and charm. This is the perfect barn wedding venue that can accommodate events large and small! The Historic Wakefield Barn is a National Historic Site that sits on 14 acres – the property includes a bridal suite, horse barn, the main barn and outdoor event spaces. The venue combines the barn’s history with subtle modern touches that result in a unique event space. The property is still an active horse farm, with two horses who live on-site named Mandatory, and Jackson!

Sugarneck is rumored to have gotten its name by the bootleggers traveling along the Cape Fear River as a code word for the place where they would pick up their moonshine. Sugarneck reaches back long before smartphones and social media, back to a time when the only way to send a message was by writing a letter and sending it in the mail. One of the earliest U.S. Post Offices in North Carolina still stands strong today. It was a community where people gathered, shared news and good times. Built in 1874, the renovated original Cabin structure serves as a unique visual reminder of those simpler times. The Cabin and the Post Office are on the National Register of Historic Places. The vast scenic views of the North Carolina countryside along with the grandness of our 150 year old Oak trees do not go unnoticed, and at night, the stars light up the sky. Today, there is an unexpected immersive experience that brings history, nature and modern elegance together in total privacy.

Doug and Cindy Carroll opened the venue in 2005 with the first wedding being held in 2006.
