Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.8

  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Earlville, IL

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Because of all the florals already there due to the nature of the venue, and all the florals and plants they filled in, I didn’t feel the need to have a ton of florals, so I did them myself! I found Flower Moxie here on Zola and they were so great! If you are thinking about DIY’ing your florals, I would definitely recommend looking into Flower Moxie! They have some set packages you can chose from, but I upgraded to the highest personalized package and it was so worth it. I got to have a phone call with the florist and they put together a custom package, and they definitely killed it, the flowers were exactly what I had in mind. There were so many resources and they went through everything so well I felt so prepared and we had almost no issues putting all the florals together. All of our florals still looked fresh and beautiful on our wedding day, and some of the florals in our arch arrangements lasted WEEKS. A word of caution though: it is definitely a lot of work, so just ensure that you have enough time in town before your wedding (i.e. you can’t fly in the day before your ceremony, if you are traveling to that location) and enough people to help you (for putting together, transporting and anything day of). I actually really enjoyed getting to do my florals myself, and would highly recommend if you are creative and DIYing your wedding!

Poplar Grove Floral was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From the very start, Sarah, the owner, was prompt in her communication, honest about any potential challenges, and completely transparent throughout the process. Her creativity and eye for color was evident in the beautiful floral arrangements she created for our ceremony and reception. When there was an issue with one of the suppliers, Sarah was upfront about it and provided us with several options to ensure the flowers were exactly what we envisioned. The end result was stunning - the flowers were fresh, vibrant, and perfectly complemented our wedding decor. Sarah's sweet demeanor and hard work truly made our vision come to life. Cannot recommend them enough! I’m not a flower person so I really let them take the lead. Told them my vision for my wedding and they created florals that matched better than I imagined! Even put in touches like a pearl corsage band and blacl velvet ribbons. Made the process very easy for me!

Lily in Bloom

5.0

  • Starts at $500
  • Serves Earlville, IL

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Tori Bennett and I am the owner of Lily in Bloom. I opened this business in the beginning of 2022 to support my growing family. I had just recently given birth to my daughter and I wanted to be able to stay home with her. So, I quit my job and opened a business working with something I absolutely love: FLOWERS! They can play such a key role and have so much impact in people’s most important days. I love that I have the opportunity to play a part in that!

As a photographer in the industry, I wanted to support another small biz in the area which is why I went to Tori for my floral needs but now that I’ve experience her talent, professionalism and kindness, I couldn’t go to anyone else or recommend her high enough to my clients!! She creates beautiful art with florals, is happy to work with people to find what is best for them and is extremely swift with her timing! I’m so thankful!
