We first visited The Market at Grelen in the middle of December, and immediately knew that if it could look that beautiful in winter, it was going to be amazing for our October wedding. We had no idea how right we were. Grelen is filled with so much nature, is incredibly peaceful, and unbelievably gorgeous at all times of the year. The clear-top tent was a showstopper and all of our guests remarked how unique and beautiful it was, especially with the string lights. We were able to use almost all of the grounds for the most spectacular photos, from the greenest fields to their apple orchards and more. But most importantly, our ceremony location (the Berry Lawn) was just perfect. We had a smaller wedding with 80 guests and they fit so comfortably there, though the space could easily fit 150 at least. It was just the most beautiful location to get married, with the rolling mountains behind you as you say your vows. Their team was helpful from the very first day we stepped foot on the grounds, through all the wedding planning, and the wedding weekend itself. They sent us recommendations on vendors (which help us build our dream team -- they were all amazing!), kept us up to date on everything going on at the venue and shop (which has really good food, by the way. We had lunch there with our wedding party families before the wedding rehearsal), and double confirmed all details the week before the wedding. We also stayed at their 118 Suite property and really loved it! Also, they let you use some of their flowers and trees! This helped us save a bit on florals and really elevated every location. Our favorite were the magnolia trees in the tent :) Overall -- you will have an absolutely stunning wedding if you get married at Grelen!

I never thought I would be a wedding photographer. I started my professional career in Boulder, Colorado, riding on the backs of motorcycles, chasing professional cyclists through winding roads and epic climbs. I never thought I would find another career as exhilarating and rewarding but I was wrong. I photographed weddings in Colorado, but it wasn’t until moving East, to Charlottesville, Virginia, that I fell in love with them. I love all of the beauty of the flowers and the pretty clothing, but what I love most is documenting the love between the two of you, and the complete joy of your best day ever. We celebrate all couples!

Beth is absolutely wonderful! From our engagement shoot to our wedding day, every single picture is beautiful. Not only is Beth an amazing photographer, she is an amazing person! We enjoyed getting to know her and she will be a lifelong friend. We will remember our wedding forever thanks to her photography.

Jack and I could not have imagined a better venue for our wedding than The Club at Glenmore in Keswick, Virginia. Growing up in Charlottesville, I knew that I wanted to get married in my hometown. Wineries are a popular choice in Charlottesville, but they are mostly located in the surrounding counties which require a long drive from hotels. Winery weddings can also require coordinating a lot of rentals (decor, tables, chairs, etc.) and finding a caterer. After researching all of the venues around Charlottesville, we chose The Club at Glenmore or many reasons. One, the beautiful and convenient location. Glenmore was conveniently located only about 10 minutes from our hotel block on Pantops which made it easy for guests and shuttles. Even though the location is close to town, it is situated inside a beautiful gated neighborhood with views of the mountains, rolling horse pastures, and well maintained golf course. So it feels like it's out in the country without actually being that far away from town! Two, the full service. Glenmore provides so much for its couples! It has an amazing on-site chef so we did not need to find a separate catering company. This was one of our main deciding factors! Couples even do the food & wine tasting at the venue which makes for a fun day trip :) Glenmore provides all of the ceremony chairs, reception chairs, tables, glassware, serving ware, flatware, etc. So we did not need to rent anything except purchase some decorations. Speaking of decorations, Glenmore has many decor pieces that we were able to use! They have arbors, prosecco walls, a boxwood wall for photo opps, votive candle and holders, charger plates, up-lights, bistro lights, etc. Three, the amenities. Getting ready spaces, ceremony locations, cocktail terrace, reception ballroom - Glenmore has it all! Glenmore has a beautiful bridal suite that the ladies in my bridal party were able to use all morning. The bridal suite has plenty of room to get ready in, hang dresses in, store decor in, and even take pictures in. There is a separate space downstairs where the guys can get ready in too! We all enjoyed spending the morning and early afternoon together in these spaces while eating breakfast and lunch prepared for by Glenmore! The space was also convenient for our vendors too. They could come and check in with me throughout the morning since I was getting ready on-site. There are many ceremony locations to choose from if you want your ceremony at Glenmore. We actually switched our ceremony location within about 2 weeks of the wedding and Glenmore was very accommodating with this switch. Finally, the beautiful ballroom was another major deciding factor for us. We had our wedding in the summer, so we knew we wanted to have the reception indoors in an air conditioned room. Four, the staff. Glenmore takes pride in providing top notch service to its clients. Kim, the event coordinator at Glenmore, helped us so much from start to finish. She walked us through the wedding process, answered the many questions we had, worked with all of our vendors, met with us for our tasting and walkthroughs, made sure that all of our requests were met, and coordinated the entire Glenmore team on our wedding day. If you are looking for a beautiful full-service wedding venue with everything including an amazing on-site caterer, top notch staff, convenient location, and gorgeous views, Glenmore is the place for you!!

We had an incredible experience having our wedding at Greenock Manor. We decided a small, 25 person micro-wedding was what we wanted and could afford and Chanel & Jim pulled it off flawlessly and threw everything they had into making sure our day was as magical as possible. From beginning to end Chanel made sure we knew what was happening, kept all our needs and requests in mind and created such a welcoming and beautiful atmosphere during the ceremony & reception. We recommend everyone we know to go here if you’re looking for the perfect wedding! My family kept saying how incredibly impressed they were with Greenock’s beauty and Chanel’s charisma and hostess abilities! Together Chanel and Jim make a dream team, Chanel orchestrated the whole event while Jim officiated and DJ’ed - it wasn’t easy either with a guest list full of non-English speaking family as well! The wedding suite was also the highlight of the night, it was so nice to just finally kick off our shoes in the end without anything to worry about and soak in the jacuzzi to melt our worries away! Chanel’s recommendations for vendors was the best as well, the catering (onsite next door!) was out of this world on top of it all!

Ashly Kaye's Catering Services

I am a thirty-nine year old mother of two. I have been in food service for over twenty years, and have been catering for fifteen. I specialize in southern style food and absolutely love trying new foods any time. I was taught to cook by my late Grandmother starting as soon as I could sit on a counter top.

Ashly Kaye's Catering Services was wonderful to work with for my daughters rehearsal dinner and wedding. They had open communication throughout the planning process and were always available to answer our questions. The staff was fantastic - they ensured the appetizers were readily available to all guest and the tables were beautifully set. The food was excellent (received many compliments) and we received great value for the quality and service provided. We highly recommend Ashly Kaye's Catering Services for their wonderful staff, excellent food, and helpful communication. They truly contributed to making the day perfect. The Local Restaurant & Catering

5.0

  • Caterer
  • Serves Cumberland, VA

The Local is a full-service catering company that specializes in weddings, social gatherings & corporate events. Grand or intimate, focused on tradition or leaning toward trendy, your vision along with our capable guidance will reflect your personal style. Our staff is committed to details, offering unique options, bringing creativity and passion to the planning process.

It's been weeks since our wedding, and we're still getting an insane amount of compliments and questions on our wedding dinner! One of my bridesmaids even asked if I could get the recipe for The Local's truffle mushroom pasta (the resounding favorite from all of our guests, and for good reason). The other favorite (especially from my husband) was their apple crisp. It's common knowledge that the bride and groom don't get a ton of time to eat on the wedding day. We'd built out a private dinner right after cocktail hour but before sunset photos, and we got to eat a little bit of everything. Let me tell you -- I'm still thinking about the scalloped potatoes I had. I could have had an entire plate of those and still have been happy. We also had the chicken and green beans, and it's an understatement to say everything was incredible. Every dish was high quality, remained hot through the buffet, and were filling but didn't make you feel too heavy/sleepy to dance all night afterwards. Not only was the food amazing, but working with Helen and her team through our engagement was so easy. The Local is very thorough and sends over clear paperwork, including a contract with all items and payments broken down, and they were really responsive with any questions we had along the way. They even had a specific food option for those with allergies or dietary restrictions. Their team also helped set up and take down everything, and really made our dreams come true with the place settings and floor plan. It was absolutely beautiful. Overall, we could not recommend them more, and are hoping we get to attend a wedding where they're the vendor so we can eat more of their food! Thank goodness they're also a restaurant; we'll definitely be going there to relive our wedding dinner yet again :)

Working alongside Lauren and Travis of Laureland Films was nothing short of a fabulous experience! As a wedding planner, my client was super excited about the opportunity to work with Laureland and from the moment I first reached out to introduce myself and coordinate a time to connect to run through wedding weekend details, Lauren and Travis were just so warm and welcoming; they were also quick to offer thoughtful suggestions to capture more of the clients' wedding weekend. On actual wedding weekend, Lauren and Travis were flexible to adapt their timeline to accommodate little surprise moments we hadn't planned for -- like an impromptu receiving line from cocktail hour into the reception tent, and cutting the wedding cake much earlier than originally planned. It was such a joy working alongside Laureland for my clients wedding and I can't wait to recommend them to my next clients and work with them again!

Hi there. I originally hail from Georgia, but am so happy to now call Charlottesville my home. When I'm not chasing down perfect sunlight, you can usually find me tucked away somewhere with a book, writing, enjoying life with my partner Charles, styling my 1920s home, or snuggling with my Frenchie pup, Finny.

Audra is a fantastic photographer and person. Audra did an engagement photo shoot for me and my wife and photographed our wedding, and I cannot speak highly enough about what an awesome job she did. The photos are phenomenal, she took the small amount of feedback we had to heart and incorporated it, and she made sure we were all on the same page about the style of photographs we wanted. She was able to capture the two of us and our loved ones in a natural and intimate way without ever taking away from the moment. Also, she was incredibly fun to work with and made the whole experience a blast. I highly recommend her for any photography needs!

Trump Winery

Charlottesville, VA

  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $7,000

Trump Winery is the venue where your wedding dreams come true. Whether you’ve envisioned an extravagant event or an elopement for just the two of you, we promise to create memories that you and your loved ones will cherish forever. Our 1300 acre property is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, conveniently located 20 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. Our grounds have picture-perfect rolling hills, lakes, and over 200 acres of vines. Trump Winery couples benefit from indoor and outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour and reception settings, in well-appointed, heated and air-conditioned, luxury venues. Less than a mile away from both the Barn & Pavilion and the Grand Hall is our Albemarle Estate at Trump Winery, a 26,000-square foot, 11 bedroom mansion that provides overnight lodging for guests and a honeymoon night option for couples.

Our decision to elope at Trump Winery in Charlottesville turned out to be the best choice we could have made. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided exceptional service, going above and beyond to make our day perfect. Every detail was handled with care, and we truly felt like their priority. The venue itself is stunning. The chapel on the property is a masterpiece, offering a level of intimacy and charm that we couldn’t find anywhere else. The fresco on the ceiling is absolutely breathtaking, a true work of art that made the space feel even more special. The large bay windows and balcony created incredible opportunities for photography, while the pews and altar added an elegant, timeless touch. Speaking of photography, we were thrilled with our choice of Aaron Watson Photography. He was a true professional, expertly navigating less-than-ideal weather to capture photos that exceeded all our expectations. The wedding package we selected was seamless and stress-free. It included gorgeous flowers, a kind and professional officiant, and every element we needed to make our day unforgettable. Our stay at the Albemarle Estate was equally exceptional. Between the pristine grounds, beautifully appointed rooms, and the privacy of the cabin we stayed in, the estate made us feel like we had our own little paradise. With only about 11 rooms on the property, it offered a level of exclusivity that was especially memorable for our New Year’s Eve wedding. We couldn’t have been luckier to host our wedding here. The property’s uniqueness, from the incredible chapel to the estate’s picturesque surroundings, far surpassed any other venue we explored. Additionally, the entire elopement package was an extraordinary value. For under 10,000, it included the venue, officiant, photographer, floral arrangements, two nights in the cabin, hair and makeup brought directly to us, our wedding attire, and delicious meals in the fine dining room. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, making our wedding as easy as it was magical. If you’re considering hosting your wedding at Trump Winery, we cannot recommend it highly enough. The experience was truly one of a kind, and we’ll cherish the memories forever.

Each event, at it’s root, is a story. It’s a unique story of that moment in time- a newborn coming home, a bride and groom embracing or a grandmother on her 85th birthday - and it's an important moment to hold still. My role as a photographer is to tell that story as honestly as I can. I want people to look back on these memories and remember it exactly as they experienced it. That’s why I aim for transparency in my photography that neither adds nor takes away from the moments that I am documenting.

Meredith was an absolute joy to work with! Her warm, fun energy instantly put us at ease, allowing us to feel comfortable and be ourselves, which truly shines through in our photos. She has an incredible eye for not only capturing the background, lighting, and surroundings perfectly but also bringing out the unique personality of everyone she photographs. We did our engagement photoshoot in NYC, which captured a cool, chic city love story, and our wedding day photoshoot at a vineyard in Charlottesville, VA, on a beautiful summer day. The vineyard setting was so dreamy, and Meredith effortlessly captured the natural beauty of the day, making every moment look timeless and elegant. When you look at her pictures, it feels like you’re reliving those moments. Her shots are full of life—not stiff or posed—but vibrant and authentic, capturing the true essence of each moment. Meredith was also incredibly kind and easy to work with, offering thoughtful advice both before and during the shoot. This was our first time having professional photos taken, but thanks to her, we felt relaxed from the start. Her work is a perfect mix of classy, modern, and elegant, with a splash of fun and a seize-the-day vibe. We’re already excited to work with her again—hopefully for our next photoshoot, when we have a baby! Cannot recommend her enough - just do it, book her!!!

I have spent the last 8 years planning, coordinating, and running events, conferences, and weddings. When the world froze during COVID, I continued my studies and got my Certified Wedding Planner certificate. It has been beyond fulfilling to bring families together and be a part of couples’ love-filled, special day.

Working with Forever By Fern for our wedding was an absolute pleasure. Their team was incredibly informative, personable, and welcoming throughout the entire planning process. They demonstrated their reliability by expertly coordinating and managing all of the other vendors, getting to know them on a personal level. The quality of their work was truly top-notch - their trend-setting ideas and affordable, gorgeous designs exceeded our expectations. As this was my first time working with a wedding coordinator, I was thrilled by how successful the collaboration was. Fern was very accommodating, checking on me throughout the evening to ensure everything was running smoothly. I truly enjoyed working alongside her and her team, and would highly recommend Forever By Fern to any couple planning their special day.

Jack is a longtime Charlottesville-Albemarle resident, and currently lives in "downtown" Crozet. He's been a full time photographer in Charlottesville's wedding community for 17 years. Specialties include surprise engagements, and weddings ranging in size and complexity from elopements with a handful of guests, to multi-day celebrations with many hundreds of guests.

Jack was exactly what we needed on our wedding day! He seamlessly wrangled our huge family into group shots, made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and made helpful suggestions on backdrops and poses. We had so much fun capturing our day with him and Coe!

To put it simply, we love planning weddings. There's something magical about taking every little detail of such an important occasion and bringing them together to create lifelong memories for our couples and their families. Based in beautiful Charlottesville, we are an experienced wedding and event planner team dedicated to making your dream wedding come to life. We don't want any couple (or their families) to have the stress of managing all of the event details on the wedding day. After all, the guests of honor should be enjoying every moment!

Mary was so great to work with! We could not have made it through our wedding day without her! My fiance and I moved to a new city and both started new jobs all within three months of the wedding which was a huge additional stressor. Mary worked around our crazy schedules and helped keep us on track with planning and the million details that have to fall in to place before the big day. There were so many details that I never would have thought to prepare for without Mary reminding me. I never felt overwhelmed though because I knew Mary had everything under control to make our wedding wonderful. Mary was so thoughtful and caring and did everything in her power to make my dream wedding a reality.

Boxwood Villa was an exceptional wedding venue for our special day. From start to finish, their communication was fast, efficient, and incredibly helpful. The quality of their work and the value they provided was unparalleled - the grounds were beautifully manicured, with an expansive woodland forest setting that created the perfect backdrop for our celebration. Nichole, our Grelen coordinator, was always available to answer our questions and provide guidance throughout the planning process. They have a wonderful selection of approved vendors, but also gave us the flexibility to work with our preferred tent provider. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue to host our wedding, and we're so grateful to the Boxwood Villa team for making our day truly magical.
