Hiring Shelley was probably one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Not only did she deliver (thousands!) of incredible photos, she was also such a warm and fun presence on our wedding day. Looking through our photos feels like reliving the day all over, and I am so glad we got to work with her.

Matt was very easy to work with, we loved his style from the very beginning so we were super happy to work with him. He delivered our photos only a month and a half after our wedding, which was very quick. The photos came out beautiful and we are so happy we have these memories to look at forever!

Morgan Elise Photography

5.0

Austin, TX
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,850

My name is Morgan Elise, and I have had a camera in my hand since I was around nine years old. I specialize as a storyteller & documentarian photographer. Nothing brings me more joy than capturing moments you don’t necessarily see… but I do. I am constantly looking for those quiet moments, genuine smiles, laughs, hugs, kisses, etc. I want to tell YOUR story as authentically as I can. My work has heavily been influenced by my intuition and empathic gifts, history, vogue, literature- mostly Jane Austen, and poetry. Before every session, I create a story of poses for each client, carefully curated for each person’s personal story.

Awarded Best of Zola
I saw Morgan’s work online and loved it, so she flew to Seattle to shoot our wedding. Without a doubt, one of our best wedding decisions! She was so communicative, organized, and a fun/comforting presence when we were so stressed. Neither of us are good in front of a camera, and her directions helped us out so much! We love our photos so much, and she got them back to us sooo fast! Talking a huge preview within a day and a huge gallery within a week. She is the best!

Tess Leslie Photography

5.0

Austin, TX
  • Photojournalistic style

Hiya! I'm Tess, an Austin-based photographer with 10+ years of experience telling the stories of my community through photography. I love weddings of all sizes, from adventurous elopements to grand celebrations. My photojournalism background influences my documentarian style, which captures the natural joy and energy of weddings without forced poses. I help my couples feel confident and beautiful in front of the camera just as they are.

Awarded Best of Zola
This review is so long overdue, and I hope it brings home just how much I value Tess' work, and how talented of a documentarian I think she is. Since college, I've vowed to never book a friend for photos unless I really loved their work, because I often found myself disappointment when I should have invested in a professional instead of doing a friend a favor. Though Tess is a dear friend from school, she is absolutely no exception. I would have never been so excited to hire her if her photography work wasn't exactly what my husband and I wanted for our wedding day. Our ceremony was small and intimate, but Tess' work made it feel no less important because the guest size or venue. I'm a fat woman of color, and I'm often self-conscious of how other people, even friends, photograph me and the effort they lack in taking even casual pictures of myself or of me with my husband. However, Tess captured exactly how I felt that day. Not because of any editing, but because she captured our beauty and love for each other exactly as we are. Though Tess did put in so much time and effort into knowing me and my husband as a couple, it doesn't matter how intimately you know your subject — without talent, without having an eye for precious moments and framing and being able to anticipate a shoot's big moments, there's no way you can do what someone like Tess does. We planned our ceremony and reception ourselves — no planner, no coordinator — and Tess' experience helped immensely in planning exactly what we needed and wanted for photos. Despite being a friend, she treated us like any other pair of clients, with extreme professionalism and care, and even went above her scope of work for shooting during the reception and returning our gallery. I'm so happy to see her thrive in her calling, and am honored to have experienced her talents. Tess is an absolute pleasure to work with, and I know we'll be booking her to document important life milestones in the future.

Heather Wise Photography

Austin, TX
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,300

I've been in the business for over 18 years so I've seen a lot change and evolve though the years. I bring expertise to the table as well as a background in special education. Having two children of my own and having taught for over a decade, I also bring patience and grace to every person I meet. I believe love is love and I accept and welcome anyone and everyone who allows me to tell their love story.

We found Heather on The Knot but knew immediately that she had worked on 2 prior weddings we attended. She did our engagement photos as well and even though the weather wasn’t the best, she captured some really beautiful shots of us. We had a big multi lingual family she had to direct at our wedding and she did such a great job!! Heathers team knows how to work to get stuff done and she was an important collaborator in creating our run of show. When random issues occurred like a staff cutting themselves before cake cutting pics, Heather jumped into action to help us r-stage the shot. We had a lot of fun & loved working with her! Our photos are absolutely stunning!

With over 30+ years in the industry, photography is not only my passion but a lifestyle, is all I ever wanted to be. I love Jesus! I love RV traveling, hiking, the beach and dancing! I'm Nicole, an intimate wedding, destination, and elopement photographer passionate about capturing your story, personality, and vision. I hate productions and going through the motions. I invest in you and capture your day true to you!

Wedding photography is so much more than snapping a few frames. It's about being a part of the experience, making connections, and meeting new people. Whether it's laughter, joy, or romance, there is nothing better than being able to show what a couple's love is all about through images. I care about the moments first and foremost. Let's create some magic, make memories, and have an experience that you won't soon forget!

I can't say enough about John. He was amazing to work with for my July 2020 wedding. Even during covid he made it happen! He was very professional and personable. I absolutely love our pictures! The lighting and the candid shots were just what we were looking for. He worked well with our dogs too! Thank you so much for being a part of our special day and capturing those wonderful moments for us! Highly recommend!

Sam Hugh Photography

5.0

Austin, TX
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,500

I’m a hopeless romantic that's in an international long-distance marriage for almost ten years. I really enjoy documenting weddings. It’s one giant Rubik's Cube of composing interesting images, telling family history, figuring out the optimal light, and just getting to know people. My passion is to keep pushing my art and create a timeless product you will still cherish 50 years from now. I want to create honest photos that capture the realness of your relationships. I want to do more than tell a story, I want to capture the feelings and emotions of the day. I want to capture your quirkiness, your happiness, and the quiet moments in between.

There's so much that goes into having an exceptional vendor, and luckily, Sam is not only that but becomes a true friend and advocate for his clients on some of their sweetest days. I've had the honor of working alongside Sam as a fellow industry professional for a few years now as a venue manager and wedding planner. His communication before a wedding day is always thorough, friendly and kind. On wedding days, he's always very thoughtful on how he approaches each moment of the day, specifically with each couple in mind. He helps couples feel their most comfortable in front of a camera by simply documenting the natural feelings at bay and is able to coach clients through the day's events if they are feeling overwhelmed or unsure. He's big into being in the moment, letting the day happen organically and capturing those memories in time. However, he can also take charge wrangle up even the rowdiest of families during portrait time. We've worked together at a specific venue countless times and yet each gallery feels fresh and original. Although it's in the same venue, he always finds new ways to capture couples in that space that reflects the day as is instead of having a one size fits all gallery recipe. All of his galleries are unique and timeless. When it came time for me to be on the client end, my husband and I loved having Sam capture an anniversary session for us. We were blown away by his talent and ability to capture our personalities as they are instead of only having posed portraits. His work is clear and concise but also has a hint of artistic flair. He's down to try new things and experiment in the moment to see where it goes which has always led to fun during our shoots. We are so excited for him to capture more moments of our lives! We already have a full gallery wall dedicated to his work :)

Betsy Y. Photo

5.0

Austin, TX
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,333

My interest in photography sparked when I was young as I watched my dad photograph everything around him. I asked for my first camera when I was 8 years old, and from the first moment it was in my hands, I couldn't put it down. I photographed EVERYTHING from bugs to people to Beanie Babies, filling shoeboxes with negatives and little 3x5 prints. After coloring "backdrops" on notebook paper for each beanie babie and having a full-on photo shoot, I knew photography would be a part of my life forever. :P I photographed my first wedding in November, 2008: over 200 weddings, 7 countries, and 20 states later, and I am still loving every second.

Betsy shot our wedding as well as multiple family sessions for us and we can’t sing her praises any higher! I hate having my photo taken but she makes me (and everyone else) feel incredibly comfortable. She keeps things light and fun while still being a total professional! Our walls are covered with her photos and they bring us such joy.

Hi I'm Allie! I am a photographer and videographer based in Austin, TX. I have 17+ years experience in the wedding industry. Growing up, my Dad did wedding photography (on film!) and did that all throughout my childhood. Eventually, I got to tag along with him and he realized I had a natural eye for a good shot. Whenever I do weddings now, it always makes me nostalgic for the days I got to spend learning from him. Years later, he gifted me my first camera. Now, I have experience with weddings, short films, portraits, and more. If my work makes a connection with you, then I know I did my job.

Allie was terrific and the best choice for our wedding. She captured all the shots we wanted and lots of great candids. She did a wonderful job with the spirit of the event. I’d highly recommend her if you’re wanting memories to last a lifetime!

Marisa Vasquez Photography

I’m Marisa. A cheeseburger lovin' native Texan. A little lady who will capture wonderful moments for you (on my tip toes 90% of the time) and will smile at you a lot in hopes that it will make you smile too. :)

Marisa was the absolute best person we worked with for our wedding. She is professional, communicative, kind, friendly, organized, and prompt. From our initial message reaching out to her to our final pictures post-wedding and all of the in-between with engagement and bridal photos, she is without a doubt our favorite wedding vendor. She’s fun to work with during and outside of photos. During, she has a very calm demeanor of a true professional who’s seen it all and is unfazed by the chaos that is wrangling family for photos. She also made our engagement and bridal photo shoot super fun. Outside, she communicates quickly and kindly and was well organized. She was so organized that if she had told us she did wedding coordination, we would have paid her on the spot. I cannot say enough good things about her and I’m confident we’ve found our go-to photographer for as long as she’ll have us.

Austin, TX

I'm a wedding and elopement photographer that loves to capture all the feelings you least expect - the laughs you don't anticipate and the tears (the good kind) you didn't see coming. I create imagery that doesn't just bring you back to a moment, but to an exact feeling. I'm here to document your story exactly as you live it.

We found Jessica through our venue’s Instagram and never looked back. She’s got an editorial eye and was perfect for our shared vision of our wedding photos. So much so that we ended up broadening our contract to include engagement photos and a separate ceremony from the big day. Jessica not only took beautiful photos on all three occasions, but really worked with us to ensure we were comfortable and getting the shots we really wanted. If you’re looking for a local photog, we couldn’t recommend her enough. And, if you’re able to fly her out for out-of-town projects, she’s just as flexible! Thank you Jessica!

Bethany Miller Photography

Hey there, I'm Bethany – a passionate photographer with a heart for all things wild and adventurous. I love capturing the genuine, unscripted moments that make wedding days beautifully unique. With over 300 weddings under my belt, I can truthfully say that not a single one has been the same and each one requires it’s own attention to detail. Every love story is its own masterpiece, and I'm here to bring yours to life through photographs that speak to the heart. I love encapsulating the raw emotions, the bursts of laughter, the stolen glances, and the unbreakable bonds between!

We love Bethany so much! My now husband and I rarely take photos so we didn’t have a clue how to pose or anything before we met Bethany! She made our engagement shoot so much fun by posing us, coaching us through the whole shoot and we shared a lot of laughs. We ended up with amazing shots we cherish now and forever. THEN come our wedding day, she was so EFFICIENT. We didn’t want to spend several hours on posed photos, just wanted to capture a few frame worthy shots with the family, and the rest was candid throughout the night which we REALLY appreciated. We got to enjoy our night with family and friends and we can’t wait so see the amazing shots she captured with her assistant. I would recommend her as a photographer time and time again!

Kayla Snell Photography

5.0

Austin, TX
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $10,000

Hi, I’m Kayla! I moved to Austin in 2013 to pursue my career as a graphic designer (and eat all the tacos/pet all the dogs). While working as a designer at an Austin start-up, I directed and photographed marketing campaigns for the brand’s clothing line. During this time, I realized I was happiest when I was connecting and shooting with people. I transitioned to wedding photography after a childhood friend asked me to document her wedding in 2014. I was immediately drawn to the energy, emotions, and connection that I witnessed at the wedding. After that, I decided to dive headfirst into becoming a wedding photographer and never looked back!

Kayla was the absolute perfect match for us. We had our engagement and wedding photos completed with her, and we were looking at many different photographers. However, I fell in love with her effortless mixture of posed and candid shots. The entire way through the process, Kayla reaches out and communicates with you and helps you choose your engagement outfits/where to get them done. She also helps you with your wedding timeline and asks for a must have photo list. She has great informative material she sends you to help you with all your choices. I thought our engagement photos went well, but whenever she sent them back to us, I WAS STUNNED. I absolutely love them. They are such great quality and I have them printed out all over our house. Kayla is SO easy to work with and so full of joy and encouragement. She tells you exactly how to pose. She makes the entire process so fun and exciting. I cannot recommend Kayla enough! For our wedding, we had so many setbacks through our entire weekend – that we were pushed to have a backyard wedding and it looks like nothing even went wrong. I LOVE her work and I LOVE our wedding pictures. I will treasure them forever, and I will be recommending her to everyone I can tell about her work. HIRE HER FOR ANY PICTURES – she will not disappoint! Thank you so much, Kayla!!

Creatrix Photography

5.0

Austin, TX
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,500

Creatrix Photography is an LGBT wedding photography company that focuses on creating intimate, vibrant, and authentic imagery. Humans that hire us are looking to avoid the cookie-cutter style that is so popular. It's about developing friendships, having a blast and, of course, creating amazing custom art.

The path in which we discovered Jen was so extraordinary - We live in San Diego, CA but we were getting married in Texas. Since my in-laws live in Texas I told my mother n law "Find me a photographer who captures moments." She went on to do a LOCAL search for a wedding photographer on google - My in laws live in San Antonio but somehow Jen (whose business stated Austin) popped up. When I saw her photos, I said THATS WHAT I WANT! Now almost a year later, Jen's photos are all over our house - in large CANVAS prints. Jen has the most amazing talent and ability to create stories in her pictures - her photos truly do capture the moments. One of my absolute favorite photos of our wedding was how Jen was able to capture a tear falling down my husbands cheek. The attention to detail is outstanding. On the day of our wedding she worked SO hard - she was in GAME mode - She knew exactly what she was doing and because I had so much confidence in her talent, I just let her do her thing. The photos she captured will forever hold memories for us. I can honestly say that since we are approaching our first year wedding anniversary, I have looked back on her photos probably over a thousand times to remember the moments. Trust me - these photos are not just valuable for the day or months to come or sharing on social media or with family - they are extremely valuable in your own home. You will need her photos to look back on and remember what it was like. I can't wait until another opportunity arises (hopefully a prego/baby photo session in the future) where my husband and I can fly out to Jen to do another shoot - Yep - that's how much she's worth. I would fly out to do a session with her in a heartbeat <3

Lauren Parr Photography

Austin, TX
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,500

I specialize in lifestyle and wedding photography for those that value bold and charming imagery. I take a documentary, candid approach and my editing style showcases timeless, vibrant colors with a hint of mood. I have two dogs, I love to travel and spend time outdoors. I enjoy drinking kombucha and listening to 70s music. I'm an enneagram 3 and a sagittarius if that's more your thing.

If you want to be able to relive your wedding day, and feel the love and excitement all over again, Lauren Parr is a must as she truly captures the energy of the day! She encapsulates the pure emotions of every person. My husband and I have never felt photogenic, and are very critical when it comes to ourselves in photos. Lauren put us at ease immediately from our engagement photos, and was so fun to have around on the wedding day. Our photos showcase the beauty of our venue, and the beauty in me and my husband's genuine smiles enjoying each other and this special day. It's amazing at how Lauren and her assistant can be both all over the place capturing all the magic, and non existent at the same time. Some quick background on me - I spent almost 2 decades in the film industry, so I was very particular when choosing a photographer. I had FULL respect and trust for Lauren's craft and her eye. We have photos in our wedding album where people comment how they belong on the cover of a magazine. She simply is extraordinary. Please know that when you hire Lauren, you are not going to receive photos, you're going to receive ART commemorating your special day! If you can't tell, I can't recommend her enough!

Do you want total confidence that you can TRUST your photographer to not only document your wedding (duh), but to also be a helpful and friendly person to hang out with for 8+ hours on your wedding day? Are you looking for someone who truly “gets” you and brings out the most special, quirky, and fun parts of your relationship? And are you excited to work alongside someone who can help you make the BEST informed decisions while planning your wedding? I like to remind my couples to look around and enjoy every bit of their engagement and wedding day. And while you’re taking in the moment, I’ll be right beside you photographing it ALL!

Lauren was absolutely one of my favorite vendors to work with for my wedding. I've always loved taking photos and I knew I had to hire someone I could trust to capture all the special moments on my wedding day. Not only did Lauren knock this out of the park - my entire family and friends cannot get over how beautiful and candid our previews turned out!! I am absolutely over the moon with these photos and cannot stop looking at them. (I'm pretty sure I'll lose my mind when my entire gallery is delivered.) Lauren was so fun and easy to work with during our engagement pictures and on our wedding day. I would hire her again in a heartbeat. (My husband is already trying to plan any excuse to get our pictures taken again, that's how you know she's a keeper.) We loved having you be a part of our wedding Lauren!!

Briana Purser Photography

Austin, TX
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,900

Honest storytelling meets editorial portraiture is the core of what I do. I love a powerful portrait as much as I love real, honest exchanges between loved ones. The big moments get all the attention but what really fills my cup is the small, fleeting moments in between. Your wedding day is just 24 short hours & I want you to relax, be present, & soak it all up. Trust that I will be your eyes & ears, observing it all & documenting your day as it unfolds organically. Because in the end, your photographs will be the memory you are left with & the best ones will not only remind you of what the day looked like, but what it FELT like to be there.

Briana did an amazing job capturing special moments from our wedding. We couldn't be happier with our photos! Nothing felt posed or overproduced, and it resulted in natural, artful photos that beautifully captured all of the emotions of the day. Briana and her team also had such a calming presence on the day of the wedding, and it made me feel at ease, as I don't always love being in the spotlight or being photographed. Briana is incredibly talented, and we're so grateful that she was part of capturing our wedding day!
