The North Star House was built during the age of the California Gold Rush as a home and business accommodation for the second largest producing mine in California. It was designed by Julia Morgan, the first licensed female architect in in the State. Her greatest claim to fame is the Hearst Castle. The House features a catering kitchen, lighted courtyard, open grassy areas, wooded views, a veranda overlooking the sunset and plenty of parking. We're only a couple miles from Downtown Grass Valley's accommodations, shops and nightlife. We allow for lots of flexibility in how you plan your day and you can bring your own vendors and beverages. Available year-round. High Camp located on the mountaintop. This venue offers an incredible experience for you and your guests, and also has Lake Tahoe views! The ceremony and social hour will be on the outside observation deck and the reception is indoors with the same lake view and sweeping mountain scape. Available April – early December.
