The Lake House at Van Cortlandt Park Golf Course sets the stage for a very special occasion with a lakefront view and one of the most historic Event Venues in New York. The Lake House is located in the North West corner of the Bronx, only several short miles from the border with Westchester County, and it has a 2,500+ sq. ft. outdoor deck with lovely views of the lake. We have customized menus to reflect your individual tastes and style, and our event coordinator will work together with you to make sure all of your specific needs are taken care of. Whether your event is an intimate cocktail reception or a formal affair, we will make sure that our space exceeds your expectations!

The interior and exterior of the Lake House at Van Cortlandt Golf Course has very recently undergone a major renovation. Situated in the NW corner of the Bronx, the Lake House offers views of the beautiful 18-acre Van Cortlandt Lake from its 2500+ square feet outdoor deck.

The Cafe (Inside Space)

Delivering a truly unique experience.

In addition to the outdoor experience for events, there is a 2,000+ sq. ft. interior of the clubhouse. With black walnut wood flooring and white accents, the room is elegant. A fireplace and seating area at one end of the room is surrounded by numerous golf relics and pictures of the original course when it was opened in 1885. This step into the past serves as a reminder of the rich heritage of Van Cortlandt Golf Course, the oldest public golf course in America.

I am so glad we found Van Cortlandt Lakehouse. Althea and her team were responsive, helpful, and easy to work with. The lake/venue was beautiful, we got so many compliments! It was also easy for our guests, how many venues in NYC are both accessible by subway and have free parking? We were lucky with amazing weather, but it was comforting to know that there was an indoor space available if needed. Overall an amazing experience and would recommend to others.

Beautiful Views! Outdoor and indoor dining, the staff is incredibly down to earth and super helpful. I loved photographing Alex & Lauren's wedding at the Van Cortland Lake House! Free parking! Close to #1 Train!

Just had my wedding here this past weekend. From the start of LAST year, Althea has been so easy to communicate with no matter how many times I emailed. I hired a day of coordinator to help with timeline, decor, etc and when I say she fell through, she fell through. She was over 2 hours late the day of, my bridemaids and Althea ended up stepping in and setting up all my decor. Althea was honestly the best part of the experience because she did everything she could to keep me stress free. After the ceremony she brought my husband and I a plate of the cocktail appetizers to make sure we ate. She prepared our plates as the tables were being called. She was just a gem. The weather wasn’t the BEST and our rented heater was broken, but i didn’t care. The lake was the selling point, but Althea really made the venue worth it.

I literally cannot say enough good things about Van Cortlandt Golf Lake House. Our experience here was truly magical and more than we could have ever dreamed of. We had our wedding reception here recently and we were blessed with amazing, warm weather that day. Our guests could not stop gushing about how beautiful the fall foliage, the ducks/geese, and the lake itself looked. That is part of the magic of this event space -- having the covered outdoor deck allows you to truly appreciate the natural beauty of the surrounding nature. In addition, the tent has these wonderful string lights that add to a romantic and joyful ambiance. We chose minimal centerpieces and decorations - books, candles, and potted flowers - but I think the space can look great no matter what someone's personal style is. The second greatest thing about this site is definitely the special events coordinator, Althea. She was absolutely wonderful in helping us navigate the process. She was very friendly, accommodating, and supportive before, during, and even after the reception itself. She's truly an expert coordinator and I am so grateful that we were able to work with her because of how above and beyond she went. (Thank you so much, Althea!!!) Everything was perfect -- the food was delicious (especially the cheese tortellini), parking was easily available, the venue is wheelchair accessible, and for our 80-person wedding, it definitely did not feel cramped at all. Lastly, it did not break the bank while still being a lovely, memorable experience.
