About Roostertail Established in 1958, Roostertail is a well-known wedding venue in Detroit, Michigan. Bordering the Detroit River marina, its various banquet halls boast a tasteful blend of modern and industrial styles. Panoramic glass walls adorn every floor of the building, with private entrances leading to patios and balconies. Here you can celebrate your nuptials in the same venue that hosted special guests like Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton, and The Rolling Stones. Facilities and Capacity Roostertail has direct marina access with awe-inspiring views that set the stage for its two outdoor ceremony spaces, the deck, and the side patio. For indoor receptions, couples can choose between three rooms to suit either intimate gatherings or sizable celebrations.

Wedding reception per person packages start at $129 and include your 4.5 Hour Reception at a Waterfront Property, 4 Hour Open Bar, A Plated or Buffet Meal, 6% Sales Tax, 24% Gratuity, Cake Cutting Service, and a champagne toast for your cake & head table! Our venue rental (varies based on different factors, please inquiry for more details!) includes tables & chiavari chairs, a variety of linens, staffing, self parking, LED lighting, venue coordinator and more!

The best wedding venue in Metro Detroit
If you’re looking for the most amazing venue for your wedding, we emphatically and highly recommend the Roostertail! We had our wedding 8.30.24 at the Roostertail, and it was the most amazing experience! Every detail was taken care of by the staff. Shawna, our coordinator from the Roostertail, was so exceptional to work with. I didn’t have to worry about anything. I had literally more than a dozen people tell me it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Not to mention that the setting is beautiful, with gorgeous views of the water.
Dream venue!
If you're thinking of having your wedding/reception at the Roostertail...do it! My husband and I got married there in May and it was absolutely perfect. The staff was so organized, welcoming, and helpful, and they made the planning process easy for us from start to finish. One huge perk about this venue is that their packages include everything (food, drinks, chairs, linens, etc.) and they even had a boxwood wall for rent that provided some great photo ops. Views of the river from the ceremony and reception (Palm River Room and deck) were gorgeous and look beautiful in our photos. Many of our guests also commented that the food was delicious. We want to give a huge shout out to Nicole for being an MVP on our big day! She made sure everything ran smoothly and worked side-by-side with our day of wedding planner to ensure our wedding day was just how we envisioned. I can't say enough good things about the Roostertail!
Perfect Wedding
Nicole, Colleen, and the rest of the Roostertail staff helped bring our wedding vision to fruition. The wedding ceremony was perfect alongside the river, and everyone loved the Palm River Room and the balcony with fountains. It all came together so wonderfully and we have gotten many comments on how it was one of the most beautiful weddings our guests have been to.

My husband and I did an elopement but still wanted to have a big reception to celebrate; not many venues were willing or able to accommodate our non-traditional wishes however this did not stop the staff at the Roostertail. Their team worked with us, at all hours of the day, to put together the “happily ever after party” we dreamed of having. The view in and of itself is jaw dropping and the photos can’t even do it justice, you have to see in person to truly appreciate the beauty of the detroit skyline, waterfront, boats, etc. Nearly every guest came up to my husband and I and said that this was the most stunning reception venue they have ever been to. Even our DJ and one of my close friends told me they were going to look into the Roostertail for their future weddings! Aside from the Roostertail’s flexibility and stunning views their staff truly showed each of my guest such hospitality—even the owner stopped by for a while to chat with us and our guest! Special shout-out to Shawna, Martin, and Nicole for everything you guys did for my group that night!
