About this venue

Built by Henry Flagler in 1888 as an entertainment center for the opulent Ponce De Leon Hotel, the Lightner Museum once housed the world's largest indoor swimming pool. The beautifully restored Historic Pool and Mezzanine features a lofty wood beam ceiling, magnificent twin staircases, and multiple levels of space for dining and entertainment. The venue also boasts a large outdoor terrace, exquisite Grand Lobby, and lush courtyards. The Lightner Museum is ideal for couples looking for a unique, historic St. Augustine wedding venue.

Located just off of the Historic Pool's second-floor Mezzanine is the spacious Outdoor Terrace. Most often used during cocktail hour, the Terrace is the perfect location for guests to enjoy a little bit of Florida sunshine before dancing the night away inside the Historic Pool. The space also offers an outdoor location to host your wedding ceremony. When it comes time to ride off into the sunset, the staircase of the Outdoor Terrace is the ideal place to stage your Grand Exit.

Grand Lobby

Host cocktail hour in the stunning Gilded Age lobby!

With sparkling crystal chandeliers, intricate mosaic tile flooring, and eight majestic arched windows, the Grand Lobby of the Lightner Museum is a showstopping event space. Perfect for cocktail hour, the Grand Lobby looks out onto three manicured private courtyards. The central courtyard, with its charming stone bridge over a rippling Koi pond, makes a beautiful entryway for guest arrival. Weddings under 100 guests also have the option to host a wedding ceremony in the Grand Lobby.
