I am the heart and soul behind Dakota Layne Photo. Based in western Wisconsin, my love for photography started as a seven-year-old girl as the flower girl in a family wedding and has now become an extension of who I am. I approach my clients from a place of empathy - understanding who they are, what is important to them, and how I can bring their story to life in a significant and meaningful way.

HIRE HER!!
From the moment I inquired with Dakota, she was prompt. We instantly jumped on a call and we literally talked for a hour! I instantly knew she was going to be our photographer! Throughout the planning process, she consistently reached out to check in. Her thoughtful and uplifting voice messages were such a light midst the stresses of wedding planning. I would get so excited when I saw her name pop up on my phone, her bubbly personality and genuine care in her messages meant everything to us!! Our engagement photo day was a scorcher--95 degrees and pure sun!! But Dakota made the absolute best of it, even as we took breaks to cool down. Despite the sweat and crazy heat, our photos turned our magazine worthy--seriously stunning!! In the weeks leading up to the wedding she checked in almost daily, which was so reassuring. Her online website and questionnaire were very thorough and incredibly helpful. At one point, I even called her to vent about a difficult wedding situation (that had nothing to do with her), and she listened and reassured me through it all! She is truly a wedding industry professional!! On our wedding day, her presence was incredibly pleasant and everything flowed perfect. We fell a bit behind due to hair and makeup, and she continued to reassure me that we would be just fine. Her photography style is absolutely stunning, with great attention to detail that captured every important moment for us. We received our sneak peeks just a day or two after the wedding which was one of my favorite memories ever!!-- getting to reminisce on the stunning photos with my now husband on our first day of our honeymoon. It meant the world to us! The full gallery was delivered within the timeframe discussed in our contract as promised, I even had a few questions about different angles and additional photos and she delivered on all of my requests. Her gallery website was very easy to use and share. Overall we had a 1000/10 experience with having Dakota as our wedding photographer. Not only is she an incredibly talented photographer, but she is also so personable and was one of the best decisions and investments we have ever made! When it is your special day, you want to be surrounded by the absolute best, and that is Dakota!!
Cherished Memories Captured
I can’t say enough positive things about Dakota. From our initial meeting to receiving our final pics, we had the best experience. Dakota is extremely talented, kind, bubbly, energetic, a girl’s girl, and detail oriented. She helped us plan our day of schedule and followed it to a T. She worked quickly and efficiently but didn’t sacrifice quality. I’d recommend her to anyone and everyone. Can’t wait to work with her again in the future!
5 stars isn't enough!
When we first met Dakota over a zoom call, it was like seeing an old friend. We absolutely adored her and knew immediately we found a hidden gem and needed to lock her down for our wedding day and we are so so happy we did. It was so easy to connect with her and share our ideas/vision, and she made it all come to life. At both the engagement session and our wedding, she captured all that we are as a couple and more. I’m not personally one to enjoy the spotlight but Dakota made it so comfortable and fun. Not only is she one of the sweetest, kindest people I’ve ever met, but she also holds herself to an exceptionally high standard. She’s very responsive, and timely, and pours her heart and soul into every photo. Her dedication to her couples and her craft is admirable! As we sit here and gush over our photos for the millionth time, we thank our lucky stars that Dakota was there to capture the first of many beautiful moments for us.
