Hey there! I'm Chassidy, the owner and baker behind Takes the Cake - your go-to spot for mouthwatering treats in the Roanoke Valley. As a self-taught baker with a passion for perfecting recipes, I've curated a collection of buttercream cakes, & dessert bar treats that I love to eat and I’m proud to share with you - all baked fresh to order. With over 20 years of baking experience under my apron, I decided to turn my passion into a full-time gig in 2022 - and I'm so glad I did! I take pride in creating desserts that are as delicious as they are beautiful, and I can't wait to make your special events extra tasty and stunning.

Takes the Cake specializes in buttercream cakes, and cupcakes, all covered in silky-smooth Swiss meringue buttercream. My specialty? Painted buttercream flowers – they're my love language! I love creating unique, personalized desserts that are not only delicious but also beautiful works of art. In my heart of hearts, I'm a total dessert enthusiast.     We were thrilled with our wedding cake from Takes the Cake! Emily was so easy to work with and extremely responsive throughout the planning process. We sent her some inspiration photos for the cake design and she perfectly executed the vision. The final product was gorgeous and tasted incredible - all our guests raved about it!
