Hey there! We are Devail & Nikki, your husband and wife wedding entertainment team. 196 Events is a professional Wedding DJ & Photo Booth company based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. However, we serve couples across Hampton Roads, RVA, Central VA and the Shenandoah Valley.

So many couples are terrified of having a boring reception. 196 Events has 12+ years experience easing those fears. We keep the dance floor packed by giving you the tools to create a playlist that matches your style and we build on that list to ensure you have the epic wedding celebration you deserve and your guests get an awesome party that is memorable for all the right reasons.

We cannot express enough about how much we enjoyed having Devail and Nikki as our DJ duo for our wedding! They most certainly delivered on their promise of No Boring Receptions and has us and our friends dancing all night! They guided the ceremony and reception with ease, and handled any time hiccups that came up without any fuss, making it a less anxious time for all. The planning suite they use is extremely easy to navigate and set s everyone up for success leading up to the big day! A little something that stood out: Our pastor that officiated our wedding is retired and had not done a wedding in 6 years, and it was the first one he had done without his wife of 57 years there with him. Devail and Nikki took time out of their busy schedule to share some video footage with our pastor so that he could show his wife. Talk about making it a personal experience!! They did this sort of thing throughout the whole process of working with them. We know this is a long review, but long story short, We cannot recommend their services enough. HIRE THEM!!!!

We work for you, so that is totally your call. We will gladly take requests if you allow it.

The deposit is $550 and due at booking. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks before your wedding. However, additional payments can be made at any time.

Absolutely! An additional fee will be applied if the reception and ceremony are at different venues. However, there is no additional cost if they are in separate spaces at the same venue.

We have reliable reserve DJs on call in case an emergency arises and we are unable to perform your serivces. If there is an issue of equipment failure, we come prepared with back up equipment.

I'm glad you asked. 196 (one-nine-six) represents Matthew 19:6 “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together let no one separate." We thought this was perfect for us as a husband & wife team and representative of our business as a wedding DJ company.

Yes, we sure can! Our ceremony support service can accommodate any outdoor set up, even without power.

Yes. A large part of our role will be to make announcements, manage your timeline and communicate with your other vendors to be sure you and your guests always know where to go and what is happening next.

The songs you provide on your request list give us a good feel for the type of music you like and we'll build on that. Every wedding is different so we're prepared to play a wide variety of music to keep you and your guests entertained and on the dance floor all night long.
